Rufi's Hotel Innsbruck

5 stars for our extra cost Superior Dbl bed, hotel room, 23 m², with a mountain view. A very helpful, male reception person was on duty for our late arrival on 15 April. Being the start of a busy weekend, all of the hotel’s car parks were already occupied; so we parked out on the street. No parking fees apply there over the weekend. The room was excellent and very much as advertised. We appreciated the firm bedding mattresses. Everything was super clean and very modern. The rooms however at the rear of the hotel would have the better mountain views. We find European hotels too hot, so it was great to turn off the room heating and to have the window partly open. Some street noise then of an evening. Again the back rooms would be quieter. The in room safe was in working order. The in room wi-fi was easy to access and great with emails. There is a small fridge, which while not turned on when we arrived, quickly got down to a suitable temp to store my medicines. There is a pod coffee machine in the room and they even replaced the used pods during our 2 night stay. Too many hotels now do not. We found the walk in shower splashed the bathroom floor too readily; but the bathroom is otherwise well thought out. The included breakfast was excellent, with even smoked salmon in the buffet. A bit of confusion though as to whether all of the egg dishes were at extra cost, but there appeared to be free scrambled and boiled eggs. We ate in on the two nights of our stay and enjoyed the different meals. The two drink vouchers that were given on arrival were appreciated. There was much more than pizza on the menu which (partly) disagrees with another recent reviewer. Though on the 2nd night, which was a Sunday, many items on the std menu were now not available. The dining space did become noisy when busy. Alcohol does that to people at most establishments. The Old Town is a 15-20 min flat walk away and it is an interesting stroll. The hotel can issue you with a free Innsbruck Visitor’s Card; which gives free access to public transport and quite a few other good deals. Ask. A well deserved 5 star stay which I would highly recommend to family and friends and the TA world.

we were only spending one night in Innsbruck, so a hotel made more sense. Highly rated on Hotels.com, we chose this one. It is definitely more trendy/hipster vibe, with multiple pillow options and alternative air conditioning. The thing that might throw some folks is the all-glass, see-through bathroom. We had encountered something like this several years ago had a hotel in Copenhagen. Both the shower and toilet are glass-enclosed, with a sliding door shared between them. When the door is closed to the toilet, a frosted section of the glass is appropriately placed so that some modicum of discretion is retained. However, the head and feet are plainly visible, and the last thing you want to see after breakfast is your significant others face while they are straining on a painful deuce. The shower, on the other hand, has no discreetly placed frosting anywhere, so you get to see the whole fruit basket…as it were. After looking at pictures on the TripAdvisor page for the hotel, it appears that not all the rooms have this interesting see-through toilet/shower combo. If this kind of thing bothers you, make sure to request a room that works better for you. That being said, both toilet and shower work fine, although the shower is only partially enclosed by a partition wall, leading to a very wet bathroom floor. The bed was quite comfy as well. A very good buffet breakfast was available at a decent price. We were able to park less than a block away in a private lot for a reasonable fee. All in all, a very good stay and we enjoyed our cells. The Penz Hotel

This trip to Penz Hotel surprised me. The location is more convenient than another veteran hotel by the river that I booked. It took half an hour to walk around the famous scenic spots. Next door downstairs is the mall and delicious Thai food. The rooms also have mountain views. Highlight the garden restaurant on the top floor on the 5th floor with a superb view. The breakfast is rich in variety and delicious! There are also Chinese spring rolls and fried zucchini. Meat, seafood, desserts, juices, fruits, cheese have many subdivided varieties in each category, and they are delicious. Specially recommend all kinds of European-style kimchi, especially tuna wrapped in small tomatoes, and soft cheese wrapped in pickled peppers. The strange combination of wonderful flavors, you must try it if you have an international taste!

Great little hotel with an excellent breakfast. I have stayed here on a few occasions and each time the standard has been high. Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are not huge, but perfectly adequate for us, given we spend much of the day out. Nice little bar with a coffee machine available for guests. The fact that we keep going back to it is a reflection of the hotel.

It might not be an architectural masterpiece from the outside, but it's great on the inside! Beautiful room, incredibly rich breakfast buffet and a sensational view from the room over Innsbruck at night (room on the 7th floor). Very courteous staff. All in all really recommendable!
Stage 12 Hotel by Penz

We were a night guest in this hotel. stage 12 is located in the centre of the city. At the reception we were very friendly. The room was cozy, modernly furnished, clean and very quiet. There was something for breakfast. I am particularly pleased about a large selection of fruits. When we come back to Innsbruck, we will be nighting back in the hotel, especially because of its location and friendliness. In the place, a nice thank you for the upgrade. The room with views on the mountains was impressive.

Excelent Hotel. If you want to just hang out and have the best time of your life I highly recommend it. Friendly Staff, super quiet, super clean. Best breakfast in town. The road up there is amazing and it's everything it claims it is. I've spent 3 nights and it is worth every penny.

The location of this hotel is pretty good. You walk from the historical center of Innsbruck towards the bridge, you cross it and then go up a little bit. It’s at most 10 minutes by foot. The hotel seems small but nice. There is an issue with the parking though. It’s on the sides of the building and very limited. We warned the staff that we will arrive two hours earlier the check in and they said it was fine, however on that day the front desk person didn’t want to allow us to park (later she did after we mentioned the emails). We were also not given the room even though it was ready (we know because they okayed to leave our luggage there). I understand the rules but I worked in the hospitality business for many years and traveled a lot and it’s a common practice to give the guests their room a bit earlier if it’s ready. Except this not most pleasant check in, our stay was fine. The room was tiny but clean. The breakfast was simple but nice. We thought it was a good value. If you need a budget stay, you can consider this place.
