Checking IN to the hotel at 2:45PM (published check-in was 3:00PM) NO clean rooms were available. Was told this was due the the lack of staffing available, due to "Covid", We understood and were happy to wait. When a room did come available (King-Suite) found the room to be unkept, NOT clean at all, the bathroom door was unable to close., and a trash can filled about 1/4 way with water, under a entry way ceiling air conditioning duct. We requested a NEW , room, one that HAD been clean, with a bathroom door that would close. Was provided another room "just" cleaned - and while the bathroom door was able to close, it was unsecure (would not lock) The morning of our check-out, the "breakfast" consisted of packaged pastry & muffin, with limited fruit selection. We have stayed at other Comfort Suites, and are members of the Choice Hotels members, this was far and away the worst Choice Hotel we've had any experience with. The staff was clearly UNDER-STAFFED, but working with all their might to ensure our stay would be welcoming - but the hotel was in such a state of dis-repair (shame on CHOICE !) and again under-staffed, that we were only too glad to leave after one-night.
