As soon as we arrived at The Kings Head we realised it was a mistake! The stair carpet is threadbare and dirty, the landing carpet was stained. In our room the carpet was frayed, the plug in the sink didn't hold the water and there was no thermostat in the shower the water was scalding hot. We didn't find the food up to scratch. Don't go..

Took my wife and daughter for lunch, ended up having the most amazing three course meal. Service was excellent, food was quick and delicious and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The manager was absolutely delightful (I believe his name was Adam). I will definitely be going back again!

Excellent service, lovely food and back on form! The last time we visited there was a gap in managers and nothing was quite right. This visit was perfect. The staff were welcoming, thoughtful and efficient. The food piping hot and delicious. Only criticism is that the half portion of fish should not be a full slice cut after battering / cooking, but a smaller piece battered and cooked fresh We had a lovely evening and will be back again very soon

I came here for the Mother’s Day two course lunch and it was pretty bad. The beef was terrible - overcooked and tough as old boots. There was also only one piece of beef which I thought was stingy but I’m not sure my jaw would have got through a second piece so perhaps it was for the best. The Yorkshire puddings had seemingly been sat under a hot lamp for hours so were crisp throughout; they disintegrated into crumbs when you tried to cut them. I did mention this and two “fresh” yorkies were brought out. They weren’t hard and crunchy but sadly were stone cold and had been sitting in grease so I think I preferred the dust texture of the original ones to the taste of cold oil in my mouth, although it’s a close call. The roast potatoes were ok - not particularly crisp but certainly not the worst thing on the plate. One of the children ordered the pasta. You can’t really go wrong with tomato pasta. Well, except you can - overcooked pasta with barely any sauce. It looked revolting. The service was pretty slow (but I accept it was busy) and some of the orders were incorrect. All in all I was pretty embarrassed I had dragged my extended family here. I did mention at the time that the beef was terrible and the yorkshires weren’t good but there was no acknowledgment of that on the bill so we paid, and although it’s my local pub, I definitely won’t be returning sadly.

Lovely, friendly staff. Welcoming environment with nice decor and outlook. Gorgeous breakfast. My requests were accommodated seamlessly and both food and coffee were great. Great to find a quiet place to work. Highly recommend. Thank you very much for a lovely start to the day!

Set in a pretty little Hampshire village is the lovely Kings Head, with a welcoming and cosy a**osphere. The staff were very, friendly, helpful and on hand when needed. We all really enjoyed our a tasty lunch and would definitely recommend a visit for either a quiet drink or some splendid food. Dog friendly too.

Came for dinner here with the family on Saturday as we wanted to try somewhere new. Great service, great beverage selection and the salmon special and pie of the day were delicious! We will be back. The fireplace in the bar area made for a lovely a**osphere too!

An absolutely lovely pub in a lovely area of the country, the food was really lovely and very classical. The service was perfect, the lines are obviously in good condition as the beer was really crisp and tasty. Great pub.
