We stayed here for 3 nights at the end Jan and beginning Feb 2020. We thought it was in a good location, easy access to local buses and well as easy flat walk to Horley village where there were good pubs, charity shops, Restaurants, banks, small shops, train station and a Waitrose. The weather was not the best when we were collected by the hotel transport from Gatwick and this made the Lodge's drive and access to the annex a bit mucky. Our room was in the bungalow annex. The room was compact as it had a double bed and a single in it. There were plenty of electric sockets and charging points. TV and radio, desk/vanity unit with mirror, plenty of spotlights, small open wardrobe, coffee and tea making. The bathroom was new with a walking shower, plenty of hot water and a hot towel rack. The only reservation I had was that the shower had a fixed head so far up I couldn't reach it and there was not a rail to slide he shower down t o my height (I mentioned this to the owners and apparently people steal the shower heads, that why they try and put them out of reach!!!) There were plenty of tea, coffee, milk as well as bathroom toiletries. Breakfast was in the main building in a large sun lounge. As weentered the cook came out and asked if we wanted a cooked breakfast, which she did withing a few minutes. We were surprised, eggs, mushrooms sausage and bacon filled the plate. There were a choice of help yourself cereals, tinned grapefruit or prunes, coffee (instant or from pods) tea, assorted sauces, jams, yoghourts and milk. Brown and white bread, a 4 slice toaster. There was also a notice concerning allergies. The hot breakfast was brilliant. I did suggest to the owner he changed the rexine table cloths as the particular pattern (a of grey wooden planks with hearts ...sort of shabby chic) did look grubby and stained, even though it wasn't. We found the internet to be good. There were smaller areass in the main building, a lounge with daily papers, a small bar. Our lift to the airport when we left was prompt. Bus stops to get into Crawley and County Oak shopping centre (where there was a huge NEXT) Buses were frequent , fast and cheap.
