Another short vacation. Spent 2 nights at the Waikiki Marriott. Generally I like higher floors but this time I got the 8th floor. When I arrived to do an early check in, the computer system was down for maintenance and I had to come back later.
Room was clean, first time getting a queen bed with the city view. Usually as a solo traveler I get the double beds for cheaper but none were available this time.
Overall didn’t have any major issues. Only minor gripe was the bathroom light wouldn’t always turn on and would flicker and require me to flip it on and off again to work. The AC in the room was also noticeably nosier than the other rooms I stayed at.

Cross the road, you will get to a very friendly beach. New swimmers can learn how to swim in the ocean. Although many people there, the beach is still the best part that I've tried in Waikiki (compared with Sunset and Ala Moana), less rocks, easy to walk in the water.
Hotel service is very efficient, as well as many kinds of activities (mostly on weekdays).
Due to its too near the luxury row, it will be a little bit noisy if you stay lower level.
Even the city view is good to see mountains.

Don’t book a room cheaply!
*Environmental location, next to Wakiki Beach and on the main road, it is very convenient to be connected in all directions. Convenience stores and restaurants, trolly stations, public beaches, and zoos are all very close and within walking distance.
*Room facilities, the hotel has a history of a hundred years, so it is very stylish, but the city view room in the Diamond Building is so bad! ! ! ! Not as good as the new 3 star hotel rooms. (Pictured below are the benefits of room upgrade with the Marriott Platinum Card. I booked the cheapest room, but it turned out that booking through a third party did not provide any membership benefits. In the Maui fire, the hotel was full, and I wanted to upgrade temporarily but there was no room). The room is old, with an area of less than 20 square meters. Morning and night, I am woken up either by cars on the road or by the phone in the next room. A very bad experience!
* Service, remind the guests to check the bill carefully. After staying for 5 nights, the wrong bill was charged on 4 days. They checked it out one by one when they checked out, and the wrong money was refunded after 4 days.
In short, don't try to be cheap when booking a room. The small and shabby room type is not as good as staying in Hyatt or Marriott. The price/performance ratio is too low!

Booked this in 2019 for our 20th anniversary and had to cancel due to COVID and they said they would honor my booked rate for the next year. Had to cancel again and they honored my price for 2022! I was impressed with that. Hotel is in a great location-you can play in the ocean and see Diamond Head and we were lucky enough to spot two sea turtles. (one was a baby) You can walk to International Market Place, Al Moana shopping center, and Beach Walk Street with many good Restaurants. and Lewers Street. Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center down the street also. We didn't get a rental car and took an uber 4 times and had several tours booked where you get picked up and dropped off. Much cheaper than a rental car and having to pay $50 a night just to park the rental car at the hotel. Hotel was in definite need of a remodel. Was told would have a higher level room and put on first floor. We requested to move next day. Moved to 9th floor. Room was clean, hotel was clean, restaurant was very clean. People were friendly. Lots to do on Oahu. A lot of people here.

The Sheraton Waikiki has the best location. It’s minutes away from a big outlet mall with many food options and has direct access to the beach. The rooms are updated and modern and you have great views of Diamond Head. Many tour groups also depart from the bus depot next to the hotel entrance so that’s also very convenient.

The Ritz Carlton Waikiki delivers a true 5-star experience. From the minute you arrive to when you leave you are greeted by name whether in person or on the phone. Our special requests were either met or exceeded. The room was super-clean and well stocked with more than enough towels, robes and slippers, coffee and tea. Requests for more hangers, a bucket of ice or anything else were taken care of without delay. The bed was super-comfortable, as good as any I’ve experienced in a hotel. The staff were, without exception, professional, courteous and super-friendly at all times. We didn’t eat in any of the restaurants but the Dean and DeLuca store was a good source of pastries and coffee to bring back to the room. The view we had was ocean and, it’s worth noting, sitting on the lanai was a bit noisy, this is a very urban and busy location so the upside is it’s close to shopping. The adult pool fills up quickly so it’s worth getting there before the sun comes round. The very pretty beach is an easy 10 minute walk and the hotel provides beach towels and water at no charge. Chairs and umbrellas are easily rented on the beach. As there is a small kitchen we stocked up on a few snack and drink items. Do yourselves a favor, stay out of the over-priced ABC’s and head to the Waikiki Market the inventory and prices are way better. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Ritz Carlton and look forward to staying at the next one, maybe Maui?
Minutes from Waikiki Beach, our residential-style suites, designed for comfort and convenience, include fully-equipped kitchens. Luxury Row shopping is within walking distance, less than a half mile away. Diamond Head State Monument is three miles from the hotel. So....got a great rate on Travelzoo voucher for 4 nights. This hotel has been remodeled and is still in process of completing some work in common areas. Starbucks opened when I was there, and Monkeypod will open in the future. Staff was fabulous! No complaints there. I was able to check in early and got a partial ocean view on floor 11. Room was spotless. My only complaint, and it's a big one for me, is the soundproofing. I should say lack of it! Doors are HEAVY and each open and shut on the floor nearby is a shock to the sleeper. Also, the wind whistled and the band and traffic comes right in through slider to balcony. The band stops at 9, so that was no problem, and very nice. But....I hated the door slams and other interior noises. If you are a light sleeper, I don't think you will enjoy yourself. I wore ear plugs. Location is superb! It really can't be beat. Pool is OK. The jacuzzi was kind of icky. One being closed the entire time, the other kind of grey and the one attached to the pool generally full of kids. No jacuzzi for me. Towels and loungers were readily available. No problems there. We did have a problem at restaurant/ bar with what we think was bad turkey or mayo on a club. My grandson and I got sick within a couple hours. Unfortunately for the maintenance staff there was some cleaning up to do in the bathroom. The staff responded immediately and were so nice about it. I cannot thank them enough. However, when I reported this to the restaurant manager in the morning I was not totally happy with his response. All in all, I would stay there again for what I paid for it.

This resort is excellent with three swimming pool and a large Lagoom and only walking distance to the beach. You can find everything you need in this resort and there are ABC stores inside and we can buy all our souvenirs very easy. I will strongly recommend this hotel to my friend. Just one things that there is no bottle water provided and no boiling machine and you need to buy your bottle water on your own.

Excellent
SSayahaThis is my daughter(5) and my favorite staycation spot for the last few years. The pool is wonderful, very relaxing and fun. The location is great for those who want to shop and dine at the Ala Moana Center. As we live on Oahu, Waikiki can be a bit too busy so if you are those who want to stay off of Waikiki, this is great as it’s at the edge of Waikiki, right by Ala Moana! We also enjoyed the free lei making with friends we made at the pool too.
GGuest UserThis hotel is about a 10 min walking distance to the beach. Located in a central area near the Waikiki strip that has a Las Vegas strip feel (busy, crowded). A lot of stores and restaurants within walking distance. Food is expensive overall in the area. Hotel itself has a restaurant inside. Beautiful lobby area that includes a community microwave and a soda stream machine. They give you a sample of Dole pineapple frozen yogurt at check in. Good customer service, friendly staff. Damien, our valet guy was great! $45 valet parking daily but $30 dollar/day parking option across the street behind Ross. Queen room was cute, colorful but a bit smaller than expected. Carpet and bathroom outdated but has a balcony. No microwave in the room but snacks and kettle for hot water, as well as tea. Big closet for your clothes a plus. TV has cable channels but no premiums. Housekeeping good with bringing towels daily. Can get beach towels from front desk. Pool and sitting area on roof is nice. Overall we had a good experience and the hotel is cute and practical.
JJUANJapanese hotel, we arrived late and helped me upgrade to the suite. The house is large enough to cook. There is a swimming pool. At night the water is a bit cold. You can soak in the heated swimming pool. When booking, it is stated that there is no resort fee. Late in Hawaii is very cheap. After we check out, we can see that the price has risen to more than 1,000 a night.
GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is very good, 1 minute away from the beach, it is convenient to go shopping around, there are many activities near the beach, such as surfing, swimming, performances, night market, crowded with people, very holiday atmosphere.
The hotel has free breakfast, which is pretty good. Parking is $35 per day. The room is clean and tidy, the house is old but well maintained. It's also acceptable in this location. The hotel has towels for swimming and snorkeling. They drink type water here, so if you need to ask the front desk for a hot water bottle.
GGuest UserUhhhhh..... We stayed in this hotel because our flight got in late and we needed a place close to the airport to crash for one night. This hotel fits that purpose well. That said, I wouldn't recommend this hotel for any other situation other than the one I just described. They were pumping sewage right outside of our door the morning we woke up. Also, our room key didn't work the morning we were checking out. The only other positive of this hotel is that it is within walking distance of THE BEST little food place we came across on our whole trip: Joe's Grill Express. We cannot wait to come back so we can visit Joe's again.
Cccjoyce2000Cost-effective. Convenient, good location, in the middle of Waikiki Beach, Famous Street, and Ala Moana Shopping Center, it takes more than 10 minutes to walk. There are many bus stops within a few hundred meters, and there are direct bus lines to the airport or attractions. The room is not new, especially the furniture in the house is a bit old and simple, but the bathroom facilities are quite new, and very clean and comfortable. We upgraded our room. At the corner, the area is quite large, with a balcony on both sides, one of which faces the beach. Although the sunset and the beach are blocked, the sea can still be seen. The most convenient thing is that you can go to the small lounge upstairs during the day, with coffee, drinks, fruits, snacks. Although there are not many varieties, it is really convenient.
PPinkozxcMelissa, Jessie and Mr Kalani were all amazing service providers! I had one of the best and most comfortable stays here thanks to them. They are always ready to accommodate and help! They usually start shift around the afternoon to evening time however! The facilities were all great too! Being able to have a microwave and an ice box as well as ask for extra amenities like toothbrushes and body lotion was never too tough a task. Also it is close to 2 big malls -, namely waikiki and international marketplace. It was within walking distance to other big brand names and one can easily join in the fun on the streets. The only downfall was the other customers and how thin the walls were - which meant noises and talking even in the middle of the night. But other than that, it was a great stay. Great for solo travellers too :)
GGuest UserIt’s nice to have free airport pick-up, but remember to tip, the hotel swimming pool is very good! The distance is very close. The room is big and very clean! Worth staying again! discount price!
GGuest UserThere is a main building and an annex, but the annex is really bad, and if you stay in the main building, the cost-effectiveness is really good! I stayed for 3 nights and stayed in the annex on the first day and was so depressed that I paid extra money to upgrade my room to the main building, and I was very satisfied! And it's very noisy because it's a downtown area, so take that into consideration! This is a picture of the bathroom when I stayed in the annex, but there was no ventilation and no lighting in the shower cubicle.. It was poor. Compare it with the pictures of the main building!
