I’ve stayed in many hotels ,and this was by far the best. The staff make the place ,they are so friendly, inviting and very professional. On arrival we meet Mel ,who booked us in. She had a big smile on her face ,and was just lovely. She went out of her way to accommodate us. The room was lovely, nice big bed with stunning views. We ate in the bar and the food was first class. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. They made our stay extra special. They should receive an award for all their hard work.

Fantastic building and history Great staff + food Highly recommend a visit! Really cosy seating areas, and lit fires! Views are breathtaking. I am already looking forward to my next visit of this area. Very peaceful location , not too far to local attractions

Celestial Paranormal's Paul Williams gave us a memorable experience here. So much more than we expected. Fascinating history tour from Jeremy too. I can't recommend this enough and can't wait to go back. Great food, staff and a**osphere.

Had a fantastic wedding here on 2nd March 2024. After finding out about Craig y Nos' wedding packages online my then fiancee was adamant that she wanted a wedding here. The website can be confusing and difficult to navigate but the staff are easy to contact and answer queries promptly. We chose the Last Minute Wedding Package but found there was plenty of time to organise the details. The wedding planner had a list of recommended suppliers and an exel spreadsheet for the table plan that we ended up using to organise everything (we barely touched the wedding planner book we bought preemtively). The decor and food on the day was fabulous and all the staff clearly had a lot of experience and were super friendly. The day moved along seemlessly and everything was ready on time. When we had a drinks tab left over at the bar (our guests insisted on paying for their own drinks) the remaining money was refunded without issue. We also had one guest throw up in the courtyard after getting wasted (there's always one) the staff cleaned it up and took care of the guest until they were safe in their room. The week after we had lots of positive feedback from our guests and they were surprised at the high quality for a wedding at a total cost of £12,000. If I could relive the day again I would in a heartbeat. Unfortunately I don't plan on getting married again any time soon.

We booked our wedding early 2022 and since then we have been passed from pillar to post regarding our wedding planner! 5 in total and on the day we were met by Michaela who we’d never even spoken to before so had to put our trust in her that everything would go to plan. From day 1 there was a lack in communication, unanswered emails, no returned phone calls which was really starting to put me on edge living over 200 miles away we couldn’t just pop in and have a chat. We wanted to have our wedding at Craig y Nos due to its facilities for disabled and also being dog friendly. I have my mum and sisters who live not far away from the castle and this would of been a special day for them too and a chance to stay over as not many places can cater for 2 wheelchairs in 1 room. We were initially showed round by Emily who advised that one of the disabled friendly rooms would take a hoist to get my sister into bed and she would also look for a shower chair. (Which was later ordered by the venue, although being the wrong type even after checking with us! ) Not once we’re we told we had to provide our own hoist and once questions were asked Michael got involved and instead of trying to diffuse the situation got very defensive and assured me the castle was up to a disabled friendly standard! I’m afraid putting a few ramps up does not cater for all disability needs! The wedding was getting closer and we were passed to yet another wedding planner who wasn’t available when we visited for the last time before our wedding date, even though we had booked a specific time slot with her. We were passed on to Dani who assured us ‘all will be ok’and she went through the day with us. A week before the big day we were passed to get another planner Kelly who called us to make payment and again assured us herself and Michaela will be on hand at our wedding for anything we need. The big day arrived and we were taken to a room in the unsecured nurses block to get ready. I had only 2 visits from Michaela, one to check all was ok and to take anything through I needed and two when it was time for the ceremony. Not once did I have anyone come back and fourth like I was promised by Dani to show me pictures of how the ceremony was set out etc as we were having it in the conservatory. The venue did look lovely and my mind was put at ease until after the ceremony. I was handed a glass of pink Prosecco by Michaela, took two sips and never saw it again! The wedding breakfast was a shambles! Up to 25 minutes our guests waited from when the first meal came out and one of our guests even said yes to something they didn’t order as he couldn’t wait any longer! There were 2 waitresses for 39 guests and they didn’t have a clue. One of them even told a guest it was her 2nd shift and was thrown in the deep end so wouldn’t be returning due to the lack of organisation of the venue! I ended up guiding the 2 girls as to who ordered what and who was sitting where even though name cards were on

We had a wedding here- absolutely appalling, poor management, too few staff, unprofessional and poor attention to detail. An absolute s**t show. Apart from things leading up to the event, to name a few ON THE DAY: Asked bride and party to arrive at 8am to be given a room to get ready in, We arrived and no staff, no receptionists, no one but panicking kitchen staff. After many calls and hiding waitresses we were finally given a room at 9:40am.Now late for hair and makeup etc. Then we were Introduced to our wedding planner through an open door across the hall - in her pyjamas! A young girl who assured us everything would be fine many many times and yet it wasn’t, she also kept disappearing too despite promises of being there to help us. The room we were getting ready in had no private bathroom - instead the bridal party had to put on their dresses in a shared bathroom down the hall, tiny low toilets and no mirrors??? The furniture in this special bridal room was filthy and battered, chairs were too wobbly to sit in safely. Bacon was found on the floor next to the sofa. The planner tells us to be ready to go at 1:30, to talk us through what to do and where to go etc. again disappeared and didn’t come back till 2pm - lack of communication again, we had no idea what was going on. Late to get to the registrar. Wrong music was played after ceremony! Chair layout incorrect. Confetti in chairs but it was asked to be elsewhere. Told to leave our valuables and personal belongings in an unlocked room in a building accessed by staff and guests - but it ‘would be fine’? When we got room keys approx 3pm one guest found a bag of poo outside the door. This was reported but not cleared away until almost midnight… but the cotton buds and cigarette ends were left that were right next to it. Just filthy. Greasy food was served with no napkins, water was served with no glasses. The main meal had people’s orders mixed up or wrong. Table layout was wrong up until we almost were sitting. Room had to be vacated for 10mins for the dj to set up (although this was previously confirmed as already set up prior to the day). 40 mins later after listening to drilling and banging, we were finally allowed back in the room. Again not enough water for the tables, people constantly requesting more as one bottle amongst 6-10 does not go far. Evening meal not enough plates, water but no glasses, no napkins. This is just half of what went wrong, for a special day it certainly brought nothing but stress and disappoin**ent. The staff at Craig Y Nos are overworked, young and not adequately trained. The management is unprofessional and the amount it costs this is absolutely despicable. For the bride and grooms most special day, I cannot comprehend how this place is still running. Avoid avoid avoid!

I had the pleasure of staying here at the end of November 2023 for my sister and brother-in-laws wedding for 2 nights. Craig Y Nos Castle is an absolutely beautiful venue and the staff right from the start were so friendly and attentive, nothing was ever too much trouble for them. I cant praise Kelly, Michaela & Sophie my sisters wedding co-ordinators enough they were never too far away and made sure the day ran smoothly and also Beth the bar maid who ploughed through the crowd when a free bar was announced, all the staff was so friendly it was the ultimate dream wedding for my sister and brother-in-law and they played a massive part in that. The castle was all decorated for Chris**as which was so magical, the rooms were cosy and warm including the bedrooms. Breakfast and dinner was absolutely delicious. There's nothing bad I could possibly say about our experience. If I could rate this castle higher stars I absolutely would. Can't recommend Craig Y Nos Castle enough.
