Grand Hyatt Hangzhou

Extending my stay was a great decision, the room was clean. The service from Cardine was excellent, making my extended stay very enjoyable.

The hotel's location is superb, with stunning views right outside the door and West Lake just steps away. Shopping is also convenient with the popular Hubin Yintai nearby. The only minor downside was the breakfast on the 8th floor, which didn't meet expectations.

Minor drawbacks: The hotel is indeed a bit old; the floors creak a bit, but otherwise it's okay. The upstairs hallways and public areas were a bit stuffy. The room overall was a bit small, but it's understandable given its prime location by West Lake, where every inch is precious. The food at the Guest House restaurant was just average, with limited options. Pros: The service was excellent, and the location is superb. The view from the Guest House on the top floor is unbeatable. The front desk staff quickly helped resolve an issue. Overall, I was quite satisfied and would consider staying here again.

The service was incredibly thoughtful and excellent! The room was exceptionally spacious, neat, and clean. Being right by West Lake, it's the perfect choice for an evening stroll. I'll definitely stay at the Grand Hyatt again next time I visit.

I chose the Grand Hyatt for my internship in Hangzhou, and overall, it was a good experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the lake view was beautiful. I recommend prioritizing rooms on the 8th floor, as they offer more space. The hotel is a bit older, so the facilities feel a little dated, and the air conditioning wasn't very strong – I hope they can optimize that in the future. Getting around by taxi can be a bit tricky due to traffic and one-way streets, so it's good to plan ahead. The service was very attentive, and the staff were all enthusiastic, especially our concierge Cecilia (Cao Kaixuan), who was patient, meticulous, and communicated promptly throughout our stay, making us feel very well cared for. The breakfast quality was also good, and the juice was delicious. We even received a cute squirrel doll as a welcome gift, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I recommend it.

The hotel's location is quite convenient, right by West Lake and close to the boat tours, offering decent views. Its main selling point is the 8th-floor terrace, which provides a panoramic view of West Lake. However, it's unbearable during the day due to direct sun exposure. Traffic can be an issue for getting around, but bicycles are readily available nearby. As for cleanliness, the hotel seems a bit old, with noticeable signs of age in the hardware facilities, so improvements are needed. The service was acceptable, but when we had breakfast, we ate at different times. An older member of our group was told she couldn't use the breakfast area on the first floor and was directed to the 8th floor. The variety on the 8th floor was relatively limited compared to the first floor, and I don't understand why guests from the same room would receive different breakfast arrangements, with separate floors being particularly strange. The apple I had for breakfast was rotten inside, which is the first time I've encountered this during a hotel stay. The breakfast quality on the first floor also has significant room for improvement compared to hotels of a similar star rating. Thankfully, we only stayed for one night.

The hotel's location is fantastic, right by the Wugongyuan Pier of West Lake, and next to the West Lake Musical Fountain and Intime in77. It's super convenient for sightseeing and shopping. The lake view rooms offer direct views of West Lake. Our butler, Xiao Du, provided excellent service, even sending a delicious birthday cake for my child's birthday!
