Yangshi Hotel (Hangzhou West Lake Fengqi Road Metro Station)

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was compact but comfortable, with everything I needed. The location was perfect—close to major attractions, making it easy to explore the city. There were also plenty of food options and shops nearby, so I never had to go far for meals or last-minute essentials. Overall experience was great, and I’d definitely consider staying here again on my next trip!

Absolutely wonderful budget-friendly experience - especially for younger audiences! It's on my favorite street in all of Hangzhou, and I visit whenever I can from Shanghai (peep the photos :D!) Three of us on broke college student budget AND not needing to share any beds? Unheard of til now.

had two separate bookings at the hotel. For the first booking, I paid a higher price as I booked several months in advance, expecting the room to appear as cozy as depicted in the photos. However, due to ongoing renovations at the hotel, I later discovered that the room price had dropped significantly, by approximately RM40+ per night. This was quite frustrating. Note: I have attached 2 screenshot- one screenshot for 2 nights for RM266+ (weekdays) but another screenshot for 3 nights for RM256+ (including friday and weekend), which can obviously shows that the 2nd booking for 3 nights are cheaper than my 1st booking for 2 nights, due to the ongoing renovation and no compensation had been made on the differential price. Additionally, the reception floor photos online no longer reflect the current appearance due to the renovation. For the first booking, I was upgraded to a room with a window, although I had booked a room without one (the receptionist said hopefully can get 5 stars review due to the room upgrade). During my second booking, when I wanted to extend my stay due to a change in travel plans (I chose to extend my stay rather than find another hotel due to my large luggage), the receptionist assigned me to a room without a window, as per my original booking. While there were several vacant rooms with windows, I accepted the room. Although it raised doubts, it was convenient for both housekeeping and myself, as I didn’t need to move my luggage extensively and the cleaner didn't need to clean an additional room. Some observations regarding the hotel:- - The carpet outside the room and in the corridor appeared dirty, although both the toilet and room were clean. - The facilities are basic. There is no elevator access from the reception level; luggage must be carried via stairs to reach the elevator. - The hotel is about 10 minutes short walking distance from the train station. Safety may be a concern. The elevator can be accessed by anyone without a room key, allowing deliveries to reach rooms directly. Both rooms assigned to me lacked internal safety locks, meaning anyone with a room card could enter freely. Soundproofing is poor; conversations from adjacent and opposite rooms are easily heard. The second room’s toilet was particularly unsatisfactory. The space is divided into a wet area (shower) and a dry area (toilet and basin). The wet area has no lighting and no window, making it dim even during the day and unsafe to use at night. Additionally, when I requested a late check-out (standard check-out is 12 PM), the receptionist requested that I provide a 5-star review in exchange for a 2 PM late check-out. I decided to check out at 12 PM, as I did not want to compromise my right to leave an honest review. Overall, while the room and toilet cleanliness were acceptable, I experienced multiple issues related to renovation, safety, lighting, noise, and hotel policies that significantly affected my stay.

Good location with a lot of eateries, dessert shop, cocktail bar around. Room is spacious and clean. Windows and door not soundproof.

Room was too small. There are different kind of room but single room are too small. No space for luggage there
