Top hotel Ilenia is super star

We stayed here for 4 nights in late May and had a great stay . Room was kept very clean but the cleaning staff . All staff especially the lounge staff were a credit to the hotel . Always had a smile on there face and always asking if everything was ok . Breakfast was very good quality with hot and cold items . My only small gripe would be when buying a drink for the pool area some were half the size than you would get in the lounge but the same price . We had a room on the front of the building which was ok for the sun in the afternoon but did notice the rooms at the other side faced onto a building site . So I would request an even number room .

The hotel is in a convenient location,clean and bright.First impression of the crane beeping overhead on the terrace and swimming pool area wasn't attractive and became annoying. The room was not very spacious,we had clothes on chairs because of lack of storage,no drawers and just not enough space to get organised. The room quickly became messy. The shower and water pressure was good,the flushing of the toilet less so. Just the usual toiletries which in the shower were okay,but one mushy piece of soap for the stay wasn't good,and the robes which housekeeping took weren't replaced,the same for other items not being restocked,just frustrating. The bed was comfortable and pillows,but the bedding wasn't as soft as it should have been,or changed regularly. Breakfast was not as good as it might have been,food choice was pretty ordinary and could be improved,hot food wasn't very hot and fried eggs every day was repetitive.Messy tables were a bit off putting. Would I stay again,not sure there are lots of options and competition.

Okay overall,the details below are a quick reflection of a somewhat disappointing stay. The pros; Bright new hotel close to amenities, shops etc just around the corner. Comfortable bed and pillows. Friendly and efficient front desk staff. Water and ice machine on each floor. Good wi fi. The cons; The room was cramped with insufficient storage,we lived out of a suitcase for 5 days! Insufficient hanging and t& coffee, fridge right next to clothes. Not enough space for 2 people to access their clothes. One bedside table for 2 people where the USB charger is and insufficient sockets to charge phones, camera etc. No wall hooks to hang bags/ jackets,no place for shoes. Sound proofing wasn't sufficient,we had noisy neighbours who disturbed us for 3 Disappointing in a new hotel. Housekeeping left the balcony door unlocked every time we returned each day, leaving the room a security risk. Housekeeping moved and rearranged our personal toiletries mixing our toothbrush and razors. Housekeeping knocked off our tablet we had left charging and broke the usb charger lead,our tablet was also found with a small crack,this happened on the last day they entered and we didn't notice until after we checked out. Housekeeping switched off our fridge one day,and after a long day out on return we had warm beers! Room was hot,the AC is controlled centrally and switched off in the day,its not available until late. Housekeeping didn't close the curtains to help keep the room cool. Breakfast is the usual fare and they didn't offer anything outstanding. Whilst they attempted a 'special' each day it really wasn't special,eg croissant with spinach and cheese,and porridge! Specials should be Maltese and include the ingredients to inform in case of allergies, food wasn't labelled and even juices weren't always labelled we had to ask. The toaster wasn't always switched on,and staff were very slow to clear plates. It was under staffed at breakfast and by 8am looked dessimated with many messy tables not cleaned or cleared. Whilst we enjoyed Malta there are many hotels to choose from which are better priced,this hotel has so much training to undertake with their staff to improve standards it will take time. Our room didn't look anything like in the photos on this site. We used this as a base because its not the usual 4star Marriott,and didn't spend alot of time in the hotel.

We stayed there in July 2023. We had a lot of issues with our stay, it was catastrophic! I think because the hotel was new and they had just opened when we were there. We arrived to the hotel very late because of our flight. The room smelled very funky! We tried to call down to the reception, but nobody answered us and we were already in our nightwear so we did not want to go down. The day after we told the reception to please clean the room or make the smell go away while we go out and they said yes. When we came back, nothing was done. The room still smelled very disgusting and also we had bought a lot of snacks and food so we wanted to use the fridge which was also broken. A guy came up to our room to fix the fridge but he couldn’t so he changed the whole fridge. He tried to flirt with me and my friend a lot even tho we did not want to talk to him. He didn’t get the hint when we said that we have partners. When he changed the fridge, it still didn’t work. So everything we had bought we needed to eat it because it would go bad otherwise. One day, we wanted to stay in because we were too tired to go out and do anything and this time the TV didn’t work. We called the reception again, and this time they answered, came up to the room and couldn’t fix the TV. When we checked out, I addressed these issues and they promised us that if we go there again they would fix a better rate for us as a compensation for next time. Me and my friend are going to Malta again and I have tried to contact the hotel with email but nobody answers me. And we feel tricked now! It’s not ok at all! We have already booked the new flight.

We booked a birthday vacation at the AC hotel St Julian's Marriott. It is an easy 15 minute drive from the airport, has free parking for guests and a nicely stocked breakfast. The rooms are very large with small balconies that face into town. If you crank your neck you can see the ocean from your balcony but in no way is it an ocean view. The balcony is narrow, with just enough room for a small table and two chairs but is perfect for two people to have morning coffee. The room has a water kettle and Nespresso machine with all the necessary pods, tea bags, and sugar for your morning or evening coffee fix. The bed is comfortable with a large smart TV that allows for screen casting to stream from your smartphone. It also has a wide variety of cable channels in various languages. The breakfast is nice, with both hot and cold items available. The hot items could have been a bit warmer, as the trays cool down quickly but overall we enjoyed the breakfast. It is a newer hotel and staff are lovely and very accommodating. The bar offers happy hour and is limited on liquor available. The bartenders don't seem to be as experienced as one would expect. We ordered mimosas to compliment our breakfast and each day received a "version" of a mimosa that was different than the previous day. It was funny to us and just added to the day but for others might be annoying to not get what was ordered. The rooftop pool was nice, temperature was warm but not hot. The décor could use some sprucing as it seems they have furniture that wasn't out because it wasn't "in season." If the pool is heated and open year round, then the furniture should remain the same regardless of the season. We wish the rooftop pool remained open later into the evening. Overall it was a pleasant stay, staff are friendly and accommodating and rooms are comfortable and clean. The location is right off the main ***** of St Julian's, so not a lot of noise from crowds, but there is construction all around so there is noise during the work week.
