It's far from the city, but it's in front of the Alhambra Palace! The accommodation facilities were clean and good overall. The atmosphere is completely different from the city, so it is recommended for those who stay quietly. Breakfast was okay and good. However, it was a bit disappointing because there was a hotel entrance in the middle of the uphill road and I couldn't park my car at the entrance, so I had to leave it down.

My family stayed two nights in this hotel on a tour of Alhambra Palace. The outside common area of the hotel, including the dining room, was very well maintained and could deserve a 5-star rating. The rooms inside were a different story. We occupied two rooms. One was a “superior deluxe room,” and the other was a “classic city-view double room.” Both had the same price tag. The deluxe room was spacious and well-lit but had an odd arrangement with a useless bathtub in the center. Moreover, the room smelled of sewage when we entered the room—which I notified the management. They disagreed and claimed there was no sewage smell. I did not appreciate the response, as all four of our family members smelled of sewage. Nor did I escalate the issue, as our stay was short. The city-view room had a small window overlooking the city without much viewing space. The room was tiny, with two twin beds packed in the room, and was poorly lit. It felt like being in a prison cell. The shower doors in both rooms did not close fully, so the water splashed out. In short, both rooms were substandard and did not deserve the price tag at all. My recommendation to travelers is to stay elsewhere, and if you need to stay there, avoid the small “city-view” rooms and Deluxe Room #331 that smells of sewage. I got to love Spain and its people who are very friendly and helpful, but not this hotel.

I’m sorry to deduct stars for this hotel as there is much about it to enjoy and we did. The concierge was very helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable and it’s a great location for the city but ……. 1. Having a roof top bar is an asset. We were encouraged by the reception staff to visit it as it has stunning views. I asked if you had to book and was told no, open from 7. It does have stunning views as we discovered when we went up there but it was closed on Monday and Tuesday! Why? It’s peak tourist season and we were encouraged to go up there ! Very disappointing. 2. The breakfast buffet was good but there was only one person clearing and laying tables and making sure supplies were replenished. There were queues for bread, juice , bacon and eggs. It was 9am. Shame as it’s a great location .

My husband and I went to this hotel during our honeymoon. It looked great online, with 5 star ratings. On our first night there, we had no hot water. There is a rainfall shower and a shower attachment in the bathtub. We spent the whole day outside and were looking forward to a shower. The water was cold int he rainfall shower and barely lukewarm in the bathtub. We called the front desk, and a man came by and said our options were either cold showers tonight or to shower in the spa. The next night, we requested a different room in which the showers were hot. We were then told it was a problem in the whole hotel and they were trying to find us a room. They gave us a handicap accessible room, which would have been fine except the toilet was in the shower. We requested a different room, and the hotel agent confirmed the water would be warm. I was very excited to have a shower, and I had 2 minutes of lukewarm water and then it was cold again. Granada was already wet and chilly, and this really dampened our stay. No refund or discount was offered. I didn’t have a warm shower the whole time I was there, which for a 5 star hotel is ridiculous.

Rude and appalling service from front desk. I have never written a review before. I asked for a room with a view when the hotel was half empty. I was told I was complaining and the room allocated was the room given- overlooking the main road at the back in the dark, rather than Sierra Nevada at the front! with a glorious sunset! I finally got my room changed, then I was sent miles to park my car and went around for 20 minutes. Hotel car park extremely expensive and even though it was totally empty underground I was told I was taking 2 spaces and might be charged for 2. I was extremely angry and it was totally unnecessary behaviour. Manager was roughly dressed like a guest and after an argument I felt we had to leave as i was told to apologise if I wanted to be able to stay. Complete jobsworth people. everything was a problem. I would not stay there ever again. Now in a nice hotel with friendly staff. Totally unpleasant experience.

The hotel is situated a few minutes' walk from the Alhambra . The staff are friendly and helpful. However, there are many poor points, which indicate a lack of thought by management. In no particular order: 1. Noisy plumbing. The sound of toilets being used and flushed from all the surrounding rooms penetrator from very early morning till late at night. 2, air conditioning is either switched off or broken. This noted on many prior reports. Other guests also were mentioning to Reception. 3. Queues to use coffee machines were in excess of 10 minutes at breakfast. At least two more machines are needed. 4. Fresh food brought out from kitchens to replenish items on buffets, both hot and cold, were just piled onto existing trays. Cross contamination is a real danger. 5 Tinned fruit salad in Spain!

Stayed for 2 nights on a room only basis. Spotlessly clean and very friendly staff. Rooms have a good mini fridge, and there is a kitchen next to Reception with a kettle, microwave, cutlery and crockery. Bus stop outside goes to the Alhambra for €1.40. Good selection of bars outside the hotel, and about a 10 minute stroll to the Cathedral, or Bib Rambla all on the flat. At the start of the narrow road to the hotel is a roundabout. Here is the Marquis’s sister hotel - great for breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bread, coffee and a large bowl of fruit & yogurt will set you up for the day for under €10. Just around the corner you can catch the C32 bus to Albaicin for €1.40. Lovely views going up a very steep climb. Get out at St Nicolas Square at the top. There are a couple of cafés next to the square where you can enjoy a coffee or beer, with the most amazing views of the Alhambra, then catch the bus or walk downhill (about 20 mins) back into the centre. We were worried about driving and parking in Granada, so we parked up in a little town outside of Granada, called El Fargue (coming in from Murcia), and caught the N8 bus in. Cost €1.40, and travels down the only main road through every hour, just after the hour, to Jardines del Triunfo, which is the other end of the main Gran Via de Colon - a 15 min flat stroll from the hotel, or a 5 min taxi ride. N8 bus returns to El Fargue from the same place at half past the hour. Saved the stress and expense of driving and parking in the City. Very successful. We will certainly do it again, and we will also stay at the Marquis Urban again.

Hotel location is good, the side is the monastery, there is no parking space to stop the paid parking lot, 20 euros a day, we are four hours a day, receiving 28 euros. The room is OK, breakfast is average but no problem. The hotel is a 20-minute walk from the Old Town and the Cathedral, 9.5 Euros (10 minutes) to the Alhambra, and a 40-minute walk (the mountain road is not easy). It is said that you can take the bus.

The first room was badly smelled in the bathroom and put us next to a family of incivics who left us unsleeved. The next day we had the air and we asked for room change for the bad neighbors we had. A causa della nostra esperienza della prima notte non posso assolutamente dare piu' di 3. Vi racconto: arriviamo alle ore 14 e la ragazza delle pulizie era ancora intenta a pulire il ns mini appartamento al primo piano. Molto piccolo ma puo' anche andar bene tanto noi non mangeremo mai, ma un po troppo buio, c''e una zona finestra vista strada altezza occhi, quindi non si puo' tenere aperta, ma pazienza quello che rimango basita e' l'odore. La ragazza dice che i precedenti clienti hanno fumato. Mahh a me non sembra molto odore di fumo, ma siccome non siamo di grosse pretese, lasciamo gli zaini, loro ci consigliano di lasciare aperto e far girare l'aria. Rientriamo alle 23. l 'odore non e' andato via, e assolutamente non c'è neanche un miglioramento cosa che doveva accadere se fosse fumo, ma piu stiamo dentro piu mi rendo conto che l odore e' di umidita' quindi non andra' mai via. Mi sento leggermente presa in giro ma con calma vado dall host che gentilissimo mi dice che fino a domani mattina purtroppo non ha una camera da darci. Allora abbiamo dormito li dentro perche oramai a mezzanotte era difficile andar via ma e' stata una sofferenza atroce. Mi ha dato molto fastidio la presa in giro. Loro sapevano benissimo e quindi cosa pensavano che fossimo degli stupidi??? Posso immaginare che fosse anche un problema recente, ma tu quella stanza non me la dai visto che ho anche una bambina di 8 anni! ma scherziamo. La mattina alle 8 siamo gia alzati con i bagagli in macchina in attesa del cambio appartamento che ci viene poi prontamente dato. Sotto questo punto di vista nulla da dire hanno fatto il massimo, ma io ci sono rimasta male solo per il fatto che ci abbiamo provato perche cmq lo sapevano, sono stati loro subito a dirmi dell odore e subito loro a dirmi che la mattina mi davano il cambio. Se fossero stati piu' corretti mi dovevano trovare una soluzione sin da subito! Veramente uno schifo star li una notte. Ripeto carini hanno fatto quello che potevano vero, ma avrebbero potuto a mio avviso fare di piu'. a parte questo devo dire che il secondo appartamento mansardato davvero carino a mio avviso un po piccolo perche quello sarebbe stato per 4, ma aiuto in 4 non ci si muoveva, hanno veramente studiato le misure al centimetro e mettono la cucina tanto per, non c'e' spazio per muoversi e mangiare. Quindi se prenotate in questa location considerate gli appartamenti piccoli A parte questo è situato comodo a 10 minuti dal centro e a 10 dall alhambra, Noi ci siamo sempre mossi a piedi. Per il parcheggio noi abbiamo trovato nella via, ma i parcheggi free sono davvero pochissimi e noi abbiamo avuto molta fortuna ma siamo ancora a giugno con pochi turisti.
