Surreal experience, but we liked it in general
Things we liked
- hotel located in a scenic, quiet and remote location,
- rooms are large, sunny, with a view
- price is reasonable
- hotel accepts foreigners
- bathroom facilities and general decorations are very nice, hot water, etc
- only hotel in 30 miles radius that accept foreigners. Located 50m from the lake shore.
This that were little less great
- there was no one to let us into the hotel. It was actually closed until ctrip managed to contact the owner and they sent an old man / a neighbour / to open the hotel for us.
- half of the rooms were left open and were not cleaned up. Old man gave us a key to one of such rooms - but we managed to find a clean unused room and changed the key to this one
- communication with the owner via wechat, and with the old man verbally was very difficult. Owner was responding usually with a delay, while old man mandarin was very hard to understand.
