Muscatel Bellevue

Stayed here for one night - 25th March 2023 4pm to 26th morning 9am. Got this hotel automatically added by MakeMyTrip.com while booking my Sikkim Tour Package. Positives - 1. Staff was descent, polite, helpful. We took pics with them during checkout. 2. Hotel had a large space to sit at reception. 3. Hotel had a Tourist map of Sikkim. 4. Room was with an amzing view of the mountains, at city at its foot. 5. Regarding food, we only had breakfast here, that had Poori Sabzi, Omelette and Tea. It was good. 6. Location wise, it is on main road and walkable from small shops, Vajra Mall, residential houses, other hotels, restaurants, beautifully flower-decorated footover bridges, St. Thomas Church, Oldest Temple of Sikkim - Thakurbari Temple, Secretariat and most importantly MG Marg. You would never wanna miss these places for the real Gangtok feel. 7. This was 2nd hotel from Muscatel group. This hotel increased my respect for the Muscatel group. Negatives - Nothing as such. My overall rating - 4.5/5.

Nice staff and a good place close enough to MG road-100 Rs by cab. The staff is helpful and friendly. If you are visiting during the colder months, there are heavy blaneys and a heater provided. Water and kettle is also available.

Nice stay very good hotel the staff are very friendly and helpful will love to visit again. Good is good the terrace is superb. It's very conveneint and you will get taxis running just outside the gate all the time.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in Oct'21 traveling with family. This hotel probably deserves a 3.5 rating, but I am upgrading it to 4 due to the wonderful staff. The hotel is located just ahead of the North Sikkim taxi stand and right opposite the Raj Bhawan. MG marg is more than 2kms away from here and a reserved taxi would cost you 100rs while going and 150 while coming back. There's a newly opened shopping complex beside the hotel, but honestly it's more of a Reliance premise (reliance digital, trends and a supermart) ***** with a glitzy KFC. Firstly I had the booking here for a later date in October, but due to massive landslides in road to Gangtok much of my original tour plan had to be rescheduled. When I asked the hotel to prepone my booking, they happily did it. So thanks for that! Originally, I had a mountain view delux room booked, but they could only give me a non-view premium room due to my rescheduling. Upon request, one next night they moved me to the original booking of view rooms. I was impressed with the thorough sanitisation of the luggages being done during check in. The premium non-view rooms are pretty big, with spacious bathrooms. The view is that of the road in front. The delux room, while has a view of the mountains, is very cramped. There's hardly any space after the bed. The hotel needs a lot of maintenance and it is clear the ***agement does not take good care of the hotel. Tap fittings were coming off in the bathroom, we had torn bedsheets. There was also a massive water issue as on our second last day in the hotel there was some leakage, ans watwr was not available from the evening to next day morning. They are also not running the elevators citing civid protocol! If you have elderly in your group it becomes difiicult to climb 2-3 floors to reach your room from reception which is at ground level (restaurant is even at -1) The biggest USP of the hotel is its staff. The staff was wonderful and was trying their best to help out the guests, when it was clear that they were short of bandwidth and handicapped by infrastructural issues at the hotel. All in all, okay hotel if you get a good deal. Staff is wonderful, but ***agement needs to take care of the infrastructure.
