We stayed at this wonderful hotel with beautiful sea views. I couldn’t fault the hotel staff and food, the only downfall was it was a long walk into Funchal old town which we didn’t mind. The boat trip we booked through the Tui rep was a lovely day out. I would highly recommend this hotel due to its high standards.

Hotel service at reception, in restaurant and cleaning staff is very nice and helpful. The room is well mainteined even though not the most modern design. Wide variety of meals is offered at the breakfast however some products are not in good quality e.g. canned champignons, only basic friuits like melons, orange, pineaple, grapefruit, kiwi, no local ones.

Lovely hotel!! Very clean, very friendly staff, great choice at breakfast, buffet is a little expensive for the evening dinner if you haven’t gone half board. Facilities are so nice, lots to do and evening entertainment. Close to a lot of lovely restaurants, bars and cafes - recommend 3ls! About 30 mins walk into Funchal centre which is all downhill and a nice walk. We loved our stay.

We really enjoyed our week at the Blue Madeira and would strongly recommend it if you are considering a trip to Funchal. The rooms are excellent as the facilities, pool and breakfast buffet. However, the staff are critical in making the place. Unfailingly helpful and cheerful, they are to be highly commended.

Stayed in this hotel via Tui tour operator. The hotel was in a good position up a hill (but then everything in Madeira is up hill!) - but there is a bus stop just outside. Good views off the balcony. All staff excellent and unlike many places these days, the manager was visible and hands on! Nice to have one evening meal in the A'la Carte restaurant too. Clean hotel and rooms, plenty of food, good pool and other facilities.

Brilliant 2 weeks of self-organised walking. Excellent base for a comfortable stay. Plenty of choice in the buffet breakfast and evening meal. High floor room gave good views out to sea. All staff very helpful, especially the ladies on reception.

A smaller hotel than many in an elevated position that gives panoramic views. Access is steep but factor in some bus and/or taxi fares back from Funchal centre because it is worth it! Very friendly staff and facilities that are not overcrowded. We have stayed here many times
