The flat was very nice and clean. Reception staff were excellent. When we went the weather was bad (raining or white out), we were planning to ski. We wanted to use the leisure facilities but sadly the residence enforces the rather bizarre french "budgie smuggler" rule. They even have a pair of swimming shorts pinned to a wall with "interdit" posted below it! I wouldn't mind but for a couple of reasons, 1. no retail outlets in Flaine sell budgie smugglers and 2. a friend went to the same hotel 2 weeks after us and the rule was not as robustly enforced. I suggest if you want an all round skiing holiday go elsewhere. Looking at empty sports facilities was rather disappointing.

This apartment was just what we needed. 2 bedrooms with self catering kitchen and free access to the pool. It was a bit frustrating that we arrived at 2.30pm and were told that our room would be ready soon (even though they say ready at 5pm). Actually it wasn't ready until 5.30. Not a huge issue but not ideal to be told otherwise. Inside all was good. But they only provided one toilet roll so get some more quick! The most annoying thing was the dining benches were made of fake leather that was peeling away. This left little black bits everywhere which had to be constantly swept up. The chair covers really need replacing. See picture. But having said all that the location is great right on Flaine Forum and you can ski out. Skiing in was beyond my level so I had to walk back up the slope. Excellent ski/boot storage lockers for each apartment. The free use of the pool, sauna etc is fab. Especially with children that can't ski all day because it was really quiet around 3pm. We are out a few nights and cooked the others. There is the Sherpa store just down the steps from the hotel or the better stocked Spar up in Floret (but an easy walk if you take the orange slanted lift thing). As other posts have said the WiFi is non existent. We read this before we came so got a 30gb SIM to hotspot from from talk talk (currently only £3.50 for a 30 day contract). The view out the back of our apartment of the waterfall was lovely. All in all a great base for us and our children aged 8 & 6. Smaller children wouldn't be safe on the winding and slippery stairs without gates though. We'd definitely stay again I just wish they'd change the chairs.

Plus points: Great location, good size rooms, helpful staff, big ski lockers, trolleys for moving stuff in, genuine ski in and out Improvement areas: Pool was cold, boot driers in locker ineffective (I suspect due to being run on cold), windows in room could not be opened (will be very warm later in season), wifi is rubbish which hotel blames others for but if they wanted to they could find solutions for, some of the furniture was rather old and falling apart, stairs in apartment were pretty dangerous.

Terrible layout, not ski-in ski-out at all. Not suitable for young kids. Architect clearly doesn’t have kids. Very tired apartment needs updating, windows fixed shut, bath tap not working, sofa bed broken, worn furniture. €9 removed from final tax bill which is a joke. All round very disappointing for the cost of a self catered apartment in a second rate location. Swimming pool also cold.

Five adults stayed in a two bedroom plus sofa bed apartment which in theory was fine, with a shower room, bathroom, and separate toilet with no basin, incredibly unhygienic. Unfortunately, the shower in the main bathroom was unusable owing to a lack of water pressure meaning the five of us shared one shower and one toilet for five nights whilst paying 750 euros per night. The Wi-Fi on floor 7 is non-existent. Interesting CGH have known about this since 2018 if you read the earlier reviews and done nothing. Upon check in you are given no instruction whatsoever, for example the key code to get back in resulting in our party standing out side for 30 minutes on the first night after returning from dinner. The biggest insult was after entering the apartment and finding half a toilet roll to facilitate five people, the shops were shut resulting in us going to communal toilets for emergency supplies. We complained about all the above on a number of occasions and although maintenance attended, nothing was done to rectify the issues. Ski in / ski out wasn’t possible owing to conditions, and this resulted in a long arduous walk to the lifts. For people’s safety please, please put rubber on the fifty stone steps you must ascend / descend to get to the locker room on level 2. The only thing going for this accommodation is the location and a decent sized locker room.

Super location - close to slopes, shops and restaurants. Well furnished apartment. Clean and comfortable. Great pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room complex, and lovely spa with good massages. Ski-lockers are the best I’ve seen - large and well-located. Ski-in /ski-out is super

Our fourth visit. As ever great staff - Manager, reception, cleaners et al - and as good as one gets in a ski resort apartment. Close to ski hire shops, a fairly priced, well stocked supermarket, restaurants and cafes on the forum. Ski-in, ski out. Well provisioned kitchen. Only downside is that WiFi still needs sorting!

We went for a one week skiing trip with a group of 10 people and had 2 two-bedroom apartments. The apartments and the residence itself was clean, but one has to know all peculiarities that you will meet in this hotel. First families with small children should know, that 2 bedroom apartments have a spiral staircase that is covered with tiles and is a bit dangerous. No information on that can be found in the apartment description. Although they say that they have free wi-fi it is not true. The wi-fi is so rare find that you even don´t search for it after trying to use it the first day. If arriving late (after 7 p.m) the reception is closed and you should make all arrangements how you enter the building and how you find your room before. We booked this hotel through a travelagent and had an istruction that if our flight is late we should contact the hotel around 7 p.m. 19.10 already no answer when we tried calling the hotel and without our travelagent we would have been left on the street as the door has a code and nobody there to help you. From check-in desk you get an envelope that contains a lof of advertisments and then also an A4 format paper where both sides are filled with equipment in your apartment and kitchen utensils that you should count and return to the reception desk day after arrival. If you don´t do it and something is missing when you leave you will be charged the price that was written on this paper after every item. It goes like this: 12 big plates, 12 small plates, forks, knives, vacuum cleaner, mop, drying rack etc. So if you thought that you came to a vacation then no - start finding and counting all the items on the list. Day before departure we found on our door hanging a paper with departure formalities. One of the demands was that when leaving you should remove all bed-linen, towels and put them all to the bathroom (if not done 50 EUR will be charged). The kitchen had to be as clean as on arrival and all dishes put away ( charged 80 EUR) The last but maybe even the strangest rules were applied in spa area. There were two jacuzis situated next to each other and children under age 18 were not allowed to sit in one of them. The so-called lifeguard lady really kept her eye on it and walked around and made children leave the jacuzi that was not meant for them. The only difference between those jacuzis was the intensity of the bubbles. The other facility that children under 18 years old were not allowed to enter was sauna and again this special lady walked around and checked that rules were followed. Having travelled a lot in very different countries this was the strangest hotel I have been to and I will definitely not stay in hotels of the same company.

The location is superb, right in the centre of Flaine, but surprisingly quiet whilst in the residence. 2 Adults & 1 child (aged 14) stayed very comfortably in a 6 person room. Not sure how we would have managed with 6 people! The view from the room was slightly obstructed from the apartment block Alderban, but this was actually not a problem. The daily bread/croissant order was always delivered to our door before 8am, also really great. We had free access to the pool & spa area (NOTE: the tight swim shorts for males is a rule that is enforced!) The only downside to the apartments is that the storage space for clothes is somewhat limited and more hooks for hanging ski gear would be greatly appreciated.
