Motel 6 Huron, Oh - Sandusky

We stayed in a deluxe queen room to get the fridge. The room is decently sized. We were able to fit in our twin air mattress. Beds are comfortable, and the room is mostly clean. We did not use the pool or hot tub. The towels are small, but for the price we paid, we were fine with that. Our room had 2 small table sets, with 4 total chairs. The little kitchen area was nice for prepping easy food. The train is noisy! Bring earplugs or grab some at Walmart. We stayed here for a visit to Cedar Point and found this motel to be a great location, only about 15 minutes away.

This was a traumatic experience for my family. On the first night in the hotel my daughter woke me up crying in the middle of the night saying there were bugs in her bed. I checked and found 3or 4 ants. I assured her it was ok I got them all and she should go back to sleep. She ended up sleeping with me. The second night same thing. Middle of the night ants on the floor in the bathroom dad. Again 4-5. Killed them and went back to bed. The 3rd night was the bad one. Woke up and there were ants everywhere!!!!!!!!! My bed her bed our clothes our bags the bathroom. I’m not talking 4-5 ants either I’m talking thousands and thousands of ants. I work in a lumber mill and this was worse then anything I’ve ever seen. I could not for the life of me figure out what was attracting them because we didn’t bring food into the hotel. So after I wake up to my daughter literally covered in ants I look around and find the remnants of someone’s grapes. Which means after 3 days of “cleaning” our room there was still the guest before us’s food garbage on the floor. I changed hotels for the remainder of my stay in Sandusky. I called the hotel and someone was supposed to have called me back. Been 2 days and haven’t heard nothing. I feel like a terrible dad for putting my children through this. Please Learn a lesson from me. The early access just isn’t worth the trauma this has caused my child.

After a long day in the car it was nice to pull into a hotel that is right off the Ohio Turnpike, so convenient. We were greeted by Melissa who found our reservation quickly. No muss no fuss. Great front desk person. Our room was clean well appointed with VERY comfortable beds and pillows. All the staff were very friendly. They helped us find a nice restaurant for dinner, greeted us in the halls and engaged us in pleasant chit chat in the elevator. All in all, though our stay was short it was great.

The room was nice. We upgraded from a double bedroom to a King Suite (+$30) so we could have our own bedroom and our adult kids had the pull out couch and we reserved a roll away bed ($20). There was a mini fridge and microwave in the room and in the bathroom there were large bottles of body wash and shampoo & conditioner. Also, a couple little bottles of moisturizer along with a box of tissue. The room sizes were good. TV's in both rooms, along with a table, chair, coffee table and another chair and long dresser table in the bedroom. Our suite was the 1st room from the front desk which means we were very close to the free breakfast (until 10am) and the pool & fitness center (11am - 11pm as of 10/26/2024). Overall very good place to stay for the cost! The only thing that we absolutely didn't like about the suite was the fact that there was only 1 bathroom and the only way to get to it was through the King bedroom. TERRIBLE DESIGN! When the hotel decided to design that suite, if they had to have the bathroom in that location, they should have made it accessible via the kitchen area and through the Master bedroom so that ALL tenants could access the bathroom privately!

This hotel was amazing. Chris and Dale were super nice. Room was very clean, beds were very comfortable. Place seemed very clean. Would totally stay here again. Was a very pleasant stay. Area was quiet, hot tub was a super nice touch. If I’m ever in the area again, would stay here hands down.

2.5 / 5 While the rooms have been updated, the hotel is old and dated and smells as such. The bathrooms are small and was not well cleaned. Lots of hairs that were not mine on the walls, tub, toilet. The water pressure is excellent, but the ventilation is poor. Taking a hot shower not only steamed up the bathroom, but the bedroom as well. There is no storage, aside from a small box cubby that is maybe 12”x12”, and 3 random coat hangers that hang on pegs on the wall. The tv does not feature a guide, so no way to know what is on or what channel is which. Also, no way to change the input source.. so unable to use your own fire stick. The side door, even though advertised that a room key is required, was not locked while we were there. So anyone could just walk in. The restaurant was not open in the 4 days we were there. The breakfast is minimal, with just enough to be able to advertise having a breakfast. The front desk was mostly unstaffed. Although, the one time I needed help, the attendent was friendly once he showed up. We stayed here because there was a baseball tournament in town, and most hotels were booked up. If we needed a hotel in the area again, this would not be my first choice
