I normally don't like to write these types of reviews, but this experience has forced me to do so. This place is simply disastrous, and I can't help but express my disappointment. In terms of value for money, it barely deserves a 2/10. From the moment we entered the room, we were greeted with stained sheets and towels that seemed to have traces of blood. The showering experience was horrific due to the nauseating stench emanating from the drain. We opted to shower with bottled water for fear of what we might find in the tap water, but the worst was yet to come: there is no WIFI!
One might say that the "common areas" offer some hope of connection, but the reality is bleak. The heat is suffocating, and the wooden benches are so uncomfortable that they are unusable for any attempt at work. Desperate for a connection, I tried to use the WIFI in these areas only to be informed by the receptionist that the bill had not been paid. She promised to inform her boss, but upon returning after 20 minutes, she told me that the boss was too busy to deal with it. Faced with such unprofessionalism, I chose to leave the place and find a café where I could work in peace.
Sleeping in this place is a nightmare. Although I booked the most economical room, I did not expect to feel like I was in an oven. The window faced a corridor, trapping even more heat inside the room.

The premises are not suitable for living. There is no ventilation in the room, it is constantly damp and this causes an unpleasant smell and stuffiness. The fan is not working. Water with a good smell comes out of the tap. But if you still decide to choose this place, then be prepared for the fact that you will be staying with cockroaches. These are huge, nasty cockroaches. And the hotel administration is very pleasant, this is perhaps the only plus of the hotel.

Very modest room, no window.
Due to the lack of natural ventilation, it is very stuffy here day and night.
There are cockroaches.
Pros:
Very friendly hostess, ready to help with any questions.
There is a balcony where you can sit in the evening or at night to escape the stuffiness.
Ideal location: anywhere in the city is less than 10 minutes on foot.

I had very nice stay in Ashok homestay honestly because of the owner. My stay was in February 2017 during valentine week. The hotel is at the center of the city, accessible to restaurants, clubs and beach. The location of the hotel is just perfect even during late evening. The room is clean, bathroom is clean. The wifi is weaker inside the room but very good at the lobby. I have no complaints during my stay. The owner of the property is kind, humble, approachable, helpful and smiling face nice guy. He is always ready to help in suggesting restaurants, beach, shopping areas. He even offered us to cook breakfast (bread omelette) in his kitchen which was a kind gesture often not found. He was flexible with checkin-checkout time. I would highly recommend Ashok homestay for the best beachy exploration and a cost effective vacation.
