Portakal Hotel Dalyan

Portakal Hotel is amazing. The staff are all so friendly and treat you like family. Ali in reception is brilliant and Metab (sorry if I agitated the name wrong!!) the manager is so kind. She even came to say goodbye when I left. The breakfasts are the best I’ve had in Turkey….different every day and something for everyone. Big thanks to Zerrin the lovely chef. The pool area is lovely and never a fight for sun beds. I loved the garden by the river. Such a lovely place to relax and watch the boats go by. There is a boat to the beach right by the hotel and a ferry across the river. The only downside is not being able to use a kettle in your room. I tend to wake up early and missed my early morning cuppa, but apart from that, it was all lovely. Thank you to all at Portakal for making my holiday so perfect. See you again next May/June

Just back from 11 days in this hotel, i an honestly say from start to finish we had a fab time, the hotel is spotlessly clean, gardens are gorgeous and plenty of choice at Breakfast. Every member of staff was polite and attentive, they just couldn't do enough for us. Special mention to Ramazan "Best Barman in Dalyan" and to Mehmet on reception for looking after us both well. We will miss you all Frances and Greig x

Although this is a lovely hotel, the breakfast was not very good, with the pancakes being very rubbery (definitely not fresh) and not a great deal of choice unless you like fruit for breakfast, they also have a policy of no food or drink to be brought into the hotel which means that you have no other choice than to pay the high prices at the bar, or do what we did and sneak stuff in to eat by the pool. The lunchtime menu is very limited and one day we ordered halloumi cheese and just assumed it would come with salad or fries, BUT it did not and was just a plate of cheese! Even the chicken sandwich is not what you think, it is some weird shredded meat mixed with herbs which tasted awful. On the plus side it is right next to the river so easy access to boat trips, and a nice walk into the main town of an evening. Hotel staff were friendly especially Memet (Reception) who can't do enough to please you and goes out of his way to help.

What a brilliant hotel The breakfast is superb the coffee machine is the best. The rooms are lovely. The pool is great The staff all round are very friendly Big shout to the barman and doorman. It's got a great garden The barman likes card tricks and he is pretty good at backgammon when he has time. You can hire electric scooter from the town and localy Day boat trips are 10 yards away Super holiday hotel. Oh and the local beer is great

Great location away from the incessant holiday music in the town centre, good sized lovely room, kind and friendly staff and a salt water swimming pool long enough get a few strokes in. Breakfast had all the usual plus different daily pastries/hot choices, fruit and the tastiest tomatoes, cucumbers and olives. The area is surrounded by pomegranate orchards so hoping to head back when they’re ready to pick. We had a fantastic week and planning on two in the same place next time.

Well this was one of the best hotels we could have selected when we choose to come to Dalyan. When it says you are right by the river, you are. They're are ferry boats to take you across the river or down the river to the beach and all for a minimal amount of money. The breakfast that was presented every day was vast and varied to suit everyone. It's only a B & B but they serve snacks and meals for a small cost. Reception staff were very helpful and carried our suitcases upstairs as there isn't a lift. The hotel has ample sunbeds and a beautiful garden with every kind of relaxing seating you can think of, from a bean bag to a hammock and swing seat and more sunbeds, wooden gazebos, table and chairs with superb cushions for comfort. The owners are wonderful, friendly people and mix very well with the guests and sit at the bar and chat. The barman Ram, or Sam as my husband called him, was very friendly, we played card games with him at the bar and there was a back gammon competition going on between him and my husband. He let us hire his electric scooter/ car to get around as I twisted my ankle while I was there. The cleaning staff and gardeners do an amazing job of keeping everywhere clean and presentable. The area is very peaceful and there are lots of restaurants and bars 10 mins down the road. Everywhere is cheap to eat or drink out and every restaurant we went to, the food was plentiful and reasonably priced and all very friendly and welcoming, especially the Limon Tree. We will definitely go back to this hotel and looking at maybe October when it's not too hot.

Lovely place . Staff brilliant. Mahmet front manager is a gentleman. All staff very friendly. Cannot find any fault. Rooms spacious nice veranda. Would definitely recommend. Bar staff great and again funny. There is nothing to dislike come here and you won’t be disappointed.

Stayed at the Portakal Hotel for 8 days. What a lovely hotel. Newly refurbished rooms which were very comfortable and spacious. Mehmet on reception was so helpful and welcoming and nothing too much trouble. Ramz on bar was terrific and great fun to talk to. Owner Meta introduced herself and was always around if needed. Breakfast was abit scarce some days but considering there was only 7 of us in hotel out of season there was sufficient food . Would definitely recommend. Garden area great to chill out and pool great too.
