Room is small (same as what was posted online) but a 32” luggage cannot be opened fully. minimal walking space in the room.
Not much table space for work, location is abit far off. Didnt realise the 'distance' while booking.
Lovely view from room - sneek peak of Arthur Seat, woke up with birds chirpping, pretty relaxing
No aircon in the room, so need to open the window for ventilation
Bathroom is small, water takes sometime to be hot and water will splash out on the floor. There was water leakage from the corner of the glass panel, which made a puddle of water after each shower.
Front desk and bar service was fantastic, very friendly folks.

The flight was late late at night from London to Edinburgh, and it was more than one o'clock in the morning. The reception was on duty and it was very nice! The room was directly above the entrance, the bedding was very comfortable, the breakfast was great the next day, but the space was limited. You have to queue up and have time to enjoy it slowly!

1. The location of the hotel: Adjacent to the entrance of Holyrood Palace and Calton Hill, go straight for a few hundred meters to the Royal Mile, and walk about one kilometer to Vivalli Station. Basically, most of Edinburgh's attractions and shopping are solved by walking Although I am a little tired, I can experience the local scenery and people in a down-to-earth way.
Hotel environment: small and beautiful, the surrounding environment is very quiet, there is an exquisite garden at the back door of the hotel, and there is a very warm reception room on the first floor, most of the time there are no staff there, guests just push the door in and want to lie on the sofa to rest , drink coffee, go to the bathroom, wash and dry clothes, you can do it all by yourself here, feel free to do it without restraint
Room facilities: After check-in, the hotel will send me a password. This password is common to open the reception room on the first floor and the room. It is very convenient to enter and exit without having to bring the room card; our room is on the third floor, and it is a bit inconvenient to carry luggage up , thanks to the help of the hotel administrator; the room is newly renovated, everything is clean and tidy, and the room temperature can be adjusted; there is a small kitchen at the entrance, which basically meets the needs of self-cooking, thanks to this kitchen, the problem of eating is solved ( Edinburgh really has too few food options); we are a family of four staying here this time, in addition to the 1.8-meter bed in the room, the sofa in the living room is pulled out to a double bed, which is quite comfortable; the bathroom has a lot of space . The view outside the window is beautiful, quiet and comfortable.
Service: Peter, the hotel manager, is very kind and patient in introducing us to the surrounding areas of the hotel.
A few tips:
1. There is a small Chinese supermarket (it seems to be called Meiqilin) and a Tasco about 400 meters away from the hotel. It is great and solves a lot of food problems.
2. It’s very cold in Edinburgh in the morning and evening, so remember to bring thick clothes.
3. If you need to go from Edinburgh to London (or if you need to travel around various cities in the UK), it is recommended to buy a train pass in advance (two days in advance on Ctrip, and one day in advance on Taobao) to buy a train pass, which is cheaper than buying a single trip A lot, our family of four traveled from Edinburgh to London, went to Cambridge and Oxford in London, bought a three-day pass, and spent a total of less than 4,000 yuan (one way from Edinburgh to London for four people) It costs 3,000 yuan), and the pass can be used on any operating company’s trains on any train, which is very convenient.

The hotel went above and beyond to take care of us. I was very impressed with the service. I loved the location. It was close enough to everything without being in the thick of it. I would definitely stay again. Thank you for making my stay so comfortable.

I think the hotel location is very good, almost touching the royal mile with just few meters away. This hotel is suitable for solo or business travelers as this is an express hotel. The room we got was very small in size 19m2 not suitable for family with a kid. There was no refrigerator in the room. Breakfast was very ordinary with very few options so, I will not suggest to take breakfast at this hotel, in fact people can scout on royal mile for a decent restaurant.
Overall, 1 or 2 days should be ok without much hassle but if you are planning to spend some more time then I will not suggest for this hotel. Staff was always helpful and they do the best to guide you for things.

Great location, just a 3-minute walk from Edinburgh train station. The path to the station is smooth, making it convenient to wheel suitcases. The stairs behind the hotel lead to a stop for the tour bus, making it easy to reach various attractions.
However, despite these conveniences, our stay was quite disappointing. We had booked two Superior Double Rooms, but upon our 3 PM arrival, the front desk informed us that only one room was available unless we were willing to wait until 10 PM. Unable to wait several hours, we had to accept a single room, which turned out to be very small and dark.
The hotel's soundproofing is also extremely poor. You can hear every single word clearly from the neighbouring room. If your neighbours have noisy kids, it could ruin your stay. Loud children awakened me at 6 AM. Our experience fell well below our expectations given the hotel's pricing. I do not recommend it.

Awful hotel that is definitely not 4* and the service is not at Hilton level at all….
The hotel goes under the renovation and there were only 2 lifts with queues and they are also used by the staff too
We had a room for 3 people and had all set up for two people only, the room was dirty with hair in the shower and the ceiling.
When I took the shower the pipe was blocked and the water started to leak to the bathroom… yes they sorted the problem quite quickly but still was not great experience
There were no slippers and bathrobes. I asked for x3 slippers and they brought only one pair. I asked again and they brought only one pair again. On the third time they brought two pairs…. When I asked for 3!!! And still no bathrobes. We asked for additional blanket and it was in a random location after the room was cleaned.
The room was cleaned badly on the next day we stayed. My pajamas was thrown elsewhere and I found it on the table, the towels we put on the floor to be replaced were fold dirty on the shelves… the blanket was in a random location and the cleaner did not pay any attention at all left the room dirty. Very disrespectful
I felt that I had to beg for the things we are supposed to get in this kind of hotels. Shocking!!!
Yes they compensated with a complimentary breakfast which was good but still the service was bad. They sent the cleaner and by the time she came we were already sleeping. And she did not speak any English … very disappointed

GGuest UserThis hotel is a short walk to and from from the airport. The staff were always polite and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. The lifts were a bit slow, but you could use the stairs. The lounge is huge and the breakfast included vegan options. I only wish there had been a fridge in the room.
GGuest UserBooked this hotel based on good reviews, and it did not disappoint! We walked from Waverly to hotel with 3 huge luggages, it is not far but it is hilly so choose the path that does not involve stairs. Check-in and out is VERY efficient, just mention your name and they will immediately escort u to your apartment. Saw previous reviews saying receptionist is not friendly, but honestly I think they are being efficient and that is just what I needed after a 20-hour journey. I booked the open plan 1-bedroom apartment for us 2 adults and 2 kids. Room is at ground floor with the entrance from outside walkway directly to the living room. This means people walking outside your room will be able to see you, but there are curtains and blinds to block those views. The bedroom does not have doors though, just an entrance from hallway. The apartment is very homey and comfortable to us, we cooked almost every meal, being fully equipped. It has dining table comfortable for 4, and efficient layout. Bathroom is perfect size with sufficient hot water. Heater is working very well. Location is very close to famous victoria street, and near the famous stairs filmed in “One Day”. Used the laundry service and is good. Sainsbury local nearby with 4 mins walk. Overall satisfied and highly recommend.
GGuest UserGreat location for Hogmanay on Princes’ street. Nice engaging staff. Location of car park is a little far out which would be quite irritating if I had just come off a long haul flight late in the evening. Clean room, buffet breakfast with a large range of local style breakfast
GGuest UserExcellent value for money and the decor throughout was much smarter than I was expecting.
The location was superb, so central, within easy walking distance of many places of interest and a great choice of bars and restaurants.
My room was small but perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean. It was located at the back of the building, so no views but I wasn’t planning to spend much time in it so this didn’t detract from my experience. The room itself was very quiet and the bed very comfortable, ideal!!
I will certainly stay here again.
GGuest UserThe sanitary environment is good, the heating is sufficient, the beds are clean and comfortable, the hot shower facilities are complete, and the sound insulation effect is good. It is very suitable to stay with friends when traveling. It is highly recommended.
AAnonymous UserLocation was relatively good - easy to walk to all the major attractions. However with a luggage, we needed to take a longer route from the train station to the hotel because the shortest and easiest route had some stairs. Some amenities were given upon request. The second night, our room’s aircon couldn’t work, and the one of the lights burst, so we had to change rooms. And the next room given to us still had issues. And we had to change another room again - which, aircon and lights were fine now, but bathroom door couldn’t close. Walls are quite thin so you can hear people walking, talking and showering.
BBrian PYI stayed second time in Yotel Edinburgh during my trip in Scotland since I wanted to be Edinburg the first and last night when I returned to London.
Yotel is a nice hotel with location right in the downtown and good for me since I took bus in and out Edinburgh airport, but not perfect location if travelers take train.
GGuest UserLovely groups and views.
Comfortable bed and reasonable sized room, but the shower curtain was smelly, and we had to ask for it to be changed. It took several phone calls and nearly an hour before someone came and changed it.
Breakfast was quite good, but no eggs benedict offered, which was disappointing.
Unfortunately, the pool was packed with children and families who didn't appear to be stating at the hotel, and the timings for adults only swimming were before breakfast and after dinner. I did not consider this a proper 5-star hotel facility since it seemed less private and more public baths. Having seen how busy the golf was, I felt maybe this isn't a private membership golf and spa hotel anymore.
All in all, I did have a comfortable stay but found the hotel not private enough to make it a special experience, which is what I expected for the price and given its previous reputation in the community and in reviews.
SSherwin ThivagarI booked the room for a solo travel and the amenities were really good. The room was sufficient for a single person and was cleanly maintained. The location of the hotel is awesome, near the rail station and close to the city centre. The receptionist were polite and helped with bag storage before check-in and after check-out untill your train. Overall, the experience of staying at the place was really good.
GGuest UserThe room was much better than expected, clean and comfortable. Self-service check-in and check-out were quick and convenient. If you don't know how to use it, you can call and ask for patient guidance. If you don't know how to use the access control, you can ask the staff. The location is far from the city center and various attractions, about 30 minutes walk, but you can take the bus.
In summary, it is still a good choice. After all, hotels in Edinburgh are crazy expensive. I will stay in this hotel again.
