Booked this hotel in November and requested a travel cot in our "family room". Had confirmation from James that this would be in the room. Called the hotel on the day we were travelling to confirm our check in time and that the travel cot would be there so we could get our 1 year old straight to bed. Arrived at the hotel, no travel cot! I called the number at reception as this hotel seems to have no staff except at breakfast, to be answered by someone saying "unbelievable" before putting the phone down. He arrived with a travel cot around 15 minutes claiming there was no record of us asking for the cot. There were staff about for breakfast, which was self serve. Not amazing, but not awful (although limited choice if you are vegetarian). The hotel seemed busy the whole time we were there, but the bar was never open despite signs to say it should be open. Room was okay, certainly not what we paid for it though. Very dated and far too warm.

Please please please do not book this place certainly couldn't and wouldn't call it a hotel. When we arrived the receptionist/manager was in the bar so I went in to find a bucket in the middle of the floor catching water from a leak in the ceiling. She gave me our room key and pointed in the direction of the room. Opened the door to an absolute ice box room was freezing. The room was dated had a nasty smell and just so cold, radiator in the bathroom didn't work and a wet towel in the sink. I went down stairs to speak with the receptionist/manager and her attitude was dismissive as it was my fault I hadn't checked if the radiators were turned up to the maximum. After a while when the room got colder I went to speak to the person again. She agreed to change our room and took us to the property next door. Gave me the key to number 14 with the 4 missing and left. While we were having a look around the receptionist/manager phoned my husband and started shouting at him saying why you cause hassle your room was ok. He tried to explain about the cold but she wasn't listening and continued to shout aggressively saying we see tomorrow. At this stage I felt uncomfortable intimidated and decided to leave the building. I returned the key and explained we could not be staying, I also said I would be contacting all relevant agencies to which she replied, "That's fine I don't care. The worst place the worst staff the dirtiest run down hole so stay clear.

Booked into this hotel, myself and my 13yr old daughter to go and see a nathan evans concert. Clearly I cldnt go to a pub or a club with my 13yr old in tow so thot at 10pm I cld enjoy a night cap in the hotel bar.....well nope....it's shut...at 10pm on a sat night!!! £90 for a night that is far from family friendly. Met people at the concert who were staying at the same hotel, that I have known for years. But instead, in our pj's, with a can of coke zero lol. Not ideal and certainly won't be back or recommend to others

After having to wait a while as the recptionist was on the phone we were checked into our room. On first looks was spacious and clean. However the bathroom is dated and if you want a shower in room 1 forget it - it was like standing under a dribbling tap. We should have asked to change rooms but we had a dinner reservation to go to. The buffet breakfast the next morning was OK although when we walked in (10mins after our the time we had been asked to select when we checked in) we got a frosty reception and asked what we wanted - well you would assume they would have known it was breakfast but the two girls just sat chatting and ignored us so we got on with it. At just over £100 this room and the service was definately not worth it.

Plenty of parking at the hotel front and back. Welcoming staff - morning and night. Lovely bar area where we enjoyed our delicious breakfast, lots to choose from. Super rooms in the main hotel. We would only return if it could be guaranteed our room was in the hotel and not in the bungalow in the car park around the back.

Would have given zero stars but that's not an option.... Room smelled horrible, musky and moldy. Bedsheets also had a pungent smell of mold. Hotel tried fixing this by adding plug in air fresheners. Struggled to find someone who worked there. When I raised this to a male staff member his response was rude, aggressive and disrespectful. Checked out within 10 minutes of arrival. Will not be staying here again or recommend it.

Run down overpriced room. Definitely not the room in the photo . Bathroom needs replacing or at the least a good bleach clean for the mould. No bedside table or light. I could not recommend this hotel to other single travellers.

Good location, easy walk to town centre. Excellent on site parking. Imposing building. Unstaffed reception desk but attended to immediately on arrival. Public areas well appointed and appeared clean and well kept, if a little dated in corporate decor. Our front facing room was a good size, adequately furnished and , one of my favourites...two chairs! Very compact shower. All clean and tidy, lots of nice wee touches, bottled water, sweets, a choice of beverages, tissues. However the window, facing a very busy road, appeared to have suffered major damp problems as the frame and shutters were warped and peeling. The glazed unit did nothing to reduce the road noise. A degree of cosmetic repairs to paint work and wallpaper would help. Buffet breakfast was good. Excellent efficient staff.
