Rooms were clean and spacious . A lot of stairs in the hotel. Tea and coffee facilities were a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were polite friendly and helpful. Parking situation is a bit of a nightmare not enough spaces and you have to pay for 24 hours

Wow! We have just had our wedding at the Crown and it was absolutely incredible. In the lead up, the staff were very supportive in planning and no request seemed too big. The day before everything was explained and we knew exactly what to expect from the day so getting ready we knew that we didn’t need to stress about anything! Everything was so smooth, the food was absolutely stunning and the room looked gorgeous! The master of Ceremonies, Tony, was nothing short of incredible. He made us feel so at ease and handled everything! He could even tell I was nervous before I walked down the aisle and took the time to make sure I took a breathe and had a moment before I walked in the room. The bridal suit was gorgeous, just what we needed after partying the night away to an outstanding disco with our guests. The following day, the staff had packed up everything for us and ensured we had it all before we left including left over cake! Meaning our first morning as husband and wife was stress free. I would recommend this as a wedding venue to anyone looking and will hopefully visit the crown again for a meal or another function. Thank you so much to all the staff for helping us make our wedding day a day to remember!!

We recently got married at The Crown and I have to say the day was wonderful from start to finish. I sent numerous emails leading upto the day and they were all answered quickly and all my requests catered to with no problems. The bridal suite was stunning and huge, plenty of room for 5 bridesmaids and makeup artist to get ready. Our master of ceremonies Tony was amazing, he saw the day and night through ensuring everything ran smoothly and even came in early to check everything and speak to my husband and make sure we had everything we needed. The day was perfect, the staff all worked so hard. We had family that stayed over and everyone enjoyed their stay, breakfast next day was really good too. Everyone that attended said it was an absolutely fantastic day. I would not hesitate to book a wedding here, the room is stunning and the garden is lovely too and the reception area with the blossom tree is gorgeous. We had a big wedding and there was plenty of room for everyone, no one had to be crammed into one room and. Hannah was also amazing, making sure my train was right before I walked down the isle and she took loads of photos for us too. Nothing was too much trouble. If you are thinking of booked a wedding here I absolutely recommend it 💞

We arrived and got settled after a long day. The room was very average and need of some repairs. For example the wardrobe door was hanging on with one hinge. The decor was at best worn and seemed very dated. The bathroom was terrible, the shower was filthy and covered in mould all around the shower. The bathroom was very very dated and seemed to only have had a lick of paint , poorly finished and very very tired. The sink was also dirty. The interior of the hotel is average in the corridors and in need of updating and investment. The downstairs was well finished, bearing in mind the age of the property. The downstairs is much better compared with the rest of the hotel. The bar area and restaurant is well finished and well presented. During the night we were left with 4 hours sleep due to the room next door having a blazing row and the sound of crashing furniture. This is out of the control of the hotel. We pointed this out to reception on check out who did apologise. The staff were pleasant and attentive. The breakfast was wonderful and a good end to a poor night and lack of sleep. The rooms need urgent attention and for the cost the rooms are a real let down. This is no 5 star hotel and probably more like a 2 star due to the lack of investment and poor levels of cleanliness. Cleanliness is not expensive and basic hygiene doesn’t cost fortunes. Shame as the staff could not be more helpful.

I have stayed here in the past and I don’t believe any of the rooms have changed They are dated and tired with thread bare covered furniture The receptionist was miserable and rude and unfortunately she also served us at the bar again later ( same mood ) The breakfast experience was military “ you can sit there you can’t sit there “ you fetch this , I fetch that but the lady working in there was polite and helpful, food was good and nice decor ( exception was old damaged chairs ) Location good but Wouldn’t stay here again until it has a revamp

The staff was great, it was my twin sisters wedding, and they treat us with nothing but respect especially, Flynnn, Lucy, Libby, miles, mattt chapman, ellla and Charlotte, without them, the wedding day , wouldn’t not gone as smooth as it did!, thank you very much, for the memories, and coping with us rowdy bunch! You guys are amazing! ❤️💙

We stayed as this hotel for two nights as it is very convenient for Doncaster races. Bawtry is also a very nice place. Breakfast was good though server on Saturday morning probably ought to tie back her long hair when serving breakfasts and the white bread ran out on Sunday, though the staff in the breakfast area on Sunday were helpful unlike Reception staff who couldn’t seem to be bothered at all during our whole stay. Parking is a complete rip off and having paid £145 a night, it seems so unfair to charge guests again. Reception staff made no effort to help us with a space when we arrived and we struggled to find parking. The most disappointing part of our stay was the standard of the bedroom which was tired and dirty. Filthy, clogged air vents over the bed, full of dust and stains in shower. The toilet had faeces around the rim and at the back of the seat and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly in a long time. The bed wasn’t made right and the linen fell off during the night. The linen also felt grubby. The carpet hadn’t been hoovered correctly so there were bits on the floor which stuck to our feet. We stay in a lot of hotels and we felt quite let down and saddened that once was such a great place seems to have let standards drop. The room wasn’t made up at all during our stay which was fine but at their prices, I’d expect it be freshened up. Communal areas were certainly not clean and there were cobwebs in the hallways. The door to the annexe was not locked at all so to me it didn’t feel safe. I would have given all this information in feed back to the Reception but no one asked me if I enjoyed my stay when I was checking out! Will not be visiting again.

A great hotel with friendly staff , good food and excellent service, just let down by my room being very tired. Wallpaper pealing off the wall , even though I mentioned it . Large cobwebs in the room and a very dirty shower head. Good use of excellent with great service at breakfast and evening meals.

A quick review on the restaurant. We did a walk in and got seated within 20 mins. Food and service was pretty damn good for a Sunday. Obviously a keen day for getting overwhelmed for any establishment. Nice town, good venue and a nice glow to it. We will return. Plenty of feel good factor. Highly recommended.
