Summary: 1) disgusting drainage smell that filled the room and they took 8 hours to solve it 2) cockroaches and other insects (silver fish and weird flies) 3) stained bed sheets 4) refused to change the room for us (saying it is fully booked) 5) refused to refund us 6) said “sorry” and expected us to be satisfied with that after wasting and ruining our 1 night stay 7) ZERO care for customer satisfaction, the only form of compensation they offered me was 50% discount on my next visit (they were sure I will be visiting again) Details: I want to express my severe dissatisfaction with my stay at this hotel. It is by no means a 5 star hotel. As soon as we arrived (2pm) we were given a room that is filled with drainage smell, every inch of the room smelled like drainage. Extremely bad smell. They took till 10pm to fix the issue. They came the first time and did some work and said the problem was fixed, filled the room with air freshener that at some point i was coughing to since Ihave asmtha and it was very irritating. Two hours later after the air freshener smell subsided, the drainage smell was clearly back, so they came a second time and said that the drainage hole was open and now they closed it. However, the smell didnt go away. At 8:30pm we went down to the front desk, and spoke to the team there, they said they will take care of it. At 10pm, there was no drainage smell anymore, but guess what? Cockroaches were filling the toilet :) Not to mention the lack of cleanliness of the room and the bed sheets, that were changed after we found an insect on the bed and stains on the sheets. We saw more insects throughout the day, silver fish and weird flies. We couldn’t sleep all night, and we checked out at 8am because we didnt want to spend an extra hour in that place. Extremely disappointing. I paid roughly 1,000 dirhams for one night in this place, the least i will be expecting is cleanliness and hygiene, and pest control :). When we checked out they asked about our stay, and we were honest about it, all they said was “sorry”, they didn’t even offer and sort of compensation for what we experienced. We basically spent our entire day calling you the fix the room issues, where all of that could have been avoided if they had done PROPER room inspection before you hand it to us. The drainage smell was AWFUL and there is no way their housekeeping team couldn't smell it during the inspection (assuming the inspection was done in the first place). Additionally, they clearly do not have proper pest control measures in place, because the moment the drainage thing was fixed, cockroaches started coming out of the drain in the toilet. I am attaching some pictures here so you can better evaluate the situation. I cant believe that I went through all of this when I paid nearly 1K for one night. It saddens me to say that they ruined my husband’s birthday celebration entirely.. and “sorry” at the check out is definitely not enough.
