Daytona Grande Oceanfront Resort

We ended up at the Daytona Grande after the Hilton Oceanfront overbooked and we were on our way with no place to stay! Admittedly not the safest, but I had to book this place while driving from the Orlando airport and just looking for something that wasn’t a total dive but still decently priced without a ton of extra fees. No free breakfast here which is something I especially appreciate as a family of 6, but in this case it was just me and my teenage son in town for an archery championship. After the highly stressful day of travel we had, the Grande was like a little slice of Heaven! It was clean, quiet, and beautiful. We decided after having to skip lunch with flight delays and all that, we just wanted a good meal and a good bed and we got exactly that. My son and I split truffle fries to start, the crusted crab filet, and beignets for dessert. All were wonderful (and we’re from Dallas where there is no shortage of excellent food) and enjoyed Oceanside on the dimly lit quiet patio. My only criticism is that the tables should be turned perpendicularly to the ocean and hotel so that everyone at the table gets a view of both rather than one facing a wall while the other faces the ocean. Rooms were nicely decorated, had comfortable, intuitive lighting, handy USB plugs, and most importantly REALLY COMFORTABLE BEDS! We have a Tempurpedic at home so my sleep is usually pretty abysmal at hotels. Now, this wasn’t as comfy as home, but I slept hard and woke without being sore since the bed was genuinely comfortable. My only complaints about the room were that the window sheers, while stylish, really gave no privacy at all, so if you wanted privacy you had to sacrifice light. Water pressure wasn’t great and the bathroom needed more towel bars and hooks. This would’ve been way more of a nuisance with the whole family, but they also came midday and restocked towels and made up the beds, which we see less and less of these days, even at nice hotels in the name of being “green”. But it was spacious and clean and otherwise nicely equipped. Elevators were fast and never held us up. Beach access from the elevator was nice as we didn’t have to walk through the lobby in swimsuits. Parking was slightly inconvenient being caddy corner across the street, but not bad at all. We considered but didn’t try room service mainly due to price and unknown wait (when we had tournament times to consider) but the little shop/cafe in the lobby was great and convenient and priced about as you’d expect (pricey, but not too ridiculous). We got coffee and breakfast sandwiches both days. I think the biggest issue with this place is the visibility. It’s tall to be sure so you’re not going to miss it, but the entrance and signage is on the far side and behind a little aqua building (I think called Sand Dunes) which had to be apartments or a teeny hotel that I can only assume refused to sell to the Grande in development so the Grande built around it. It keeps it from having the opulent entrance that the Hilton does

We expected more. Checkin was understaffed and they were clearly stressed and therefore short with guests. Breakfast as disorganized and we had to ask for service just to get coffee and orange juice. Beach was very busy and we got the last 2 chairs and umbrella at 12:00pm. Rooms were awesome though and our dinner was a welcome change from breakfast. Our waiter Andre was awesome, he was attentive, polite and energetic. He knew the menu well and gave great recommendations.

Traveled for a weekend getaway. Room was nice. Sheets were clean! But floor was dirty, not sure if that makes sense. Beach chairs can be rented for a fee. Pool chairs are 1st come 1st serve. Bar at the pool is convenient. There is a 7eleven across the street which was nice and convenient . Chose this hotel for the convenience of the restaurant, however it was just ok. Morning staff is way better than evening staff. Restaurant looks luxurious but staff not trained properly to deliver luxury service. Husband ordered Rib eye and they brought a NY ***** thinking we won’t notice. He loves steak regardless so he ate it. My cheeseburger tasted like pure charcoal. Bathrooms in the restaurant dirty and disgusting at all times of the day. Wish they rounded more in those restrooms being as they are for the restaurant. Parking is across the street for a fee. Not secured, quite worrisome for potential break ins. Overall ok but for the price it was overrated.

The rooms are very spacious and exceptionally clean. I would recommend both the twin partial ocean view and twin ocean view rooms. We were originally booked in for 4 nights but extended our stay for a further 3 nights. Great location and pool area. Price is very competitive.

View is nice, parking is across the street but ok, hotel view is wao factor if you book front ocean view.

The place is amazing super friendly staff. Rob made a room adjustment and super friendly and very informative when checking in. The pool is beautiful but, needs some chlorine. The ladies in the morning were also so nice and printed out the boarding pass for us. I would recommend this hotel it is very nice.

Everything was great except for the dinner restaurant service was very slow and we got tild they ran out of somethig when the food was ready after waiting over 45 minutes after we ordered ither then the food the hotel was okay

This property was amazing, from the moment you walk in. You enter to this grand entrance as the elevator brings you up to the main floor. The hotel room was large even for standard room, bathroom was large as well. The hotel staff did an amazing job keeping the place look amazing! Pool area was awesome, overlooking the ocean and ample seating around the pool. Even though it was busy(which it should be, it’s a great hotel) I enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is probably the best hotel by far and Daytona and Daytona Beach area. We stayed here for bike week 2024 as well as the same hotel in the same penthouse suite last year 2023 well worth the money the service is great the facilities are beautiful and the staff are on point convenient parking to everything Main Street and all the restaurants walkable everything as well all the amenities with the beach pool and so forth
