Yes, it is very worn and dated but it does have a retro 70's charm and provides very good value. Reception was polite and professional but could have been more supportive. We had a issue as our hotel booking site had not paid the hotel. The receptionist ask us to phone them to solve the issue. At better hotels, the reception would have offered to do provide this service. A lack of training? The location is excellent being in the centre of the city, across from the bus station and the transport museum. The views of the ruins of the old in the background and new in the foreground among other ancient and contemporary buildings is wonderful from the rooms at the rear of the hotel are wonderful. The balcony that some of the rooms to the rear have would be a very pleasant place to relax in good weather. The beds are very large and reasonably comfortable with clean beading. The carpet of our room was new, and others were being replaced as we were there. The state of the decor was adequate and past ready for a make-over. However, for the price and location, it was acceptable. The breakfast, which was included, was a pleasant surprise. The buffet breakfast room had a was cosy feel, there was a good selection of cereals, preserved fruits and yogurt. The full English breakfast was very well prepared and of good quality ingredients. The tea and coffee were also of a good standard. Service was professional and efficient, clearly aiming to provide their clients with a very pleasant start to their day.

Room was clean and tidy, good value for the money. A good variety of TV channels and free WiFi, you can purchase films at £3.50 each but the selection could be bigger, and in this day and age I think £3.50 to watch a film is a but steep. Was surprise I had to pay for parking when I arrived at the hotel, a token should be given to guests for free parking. I could of driven straight out of the parking area as the barriers were not working, which the hotel knew about but still wanted me to pay the £6.50 for our overnight stay. Hotel reception, bar and restuarant was nice and modern but we only had one drink in the bar due to the prices, Pint of Heineken and half a coke was just under £8, so being just a 5 min walk into the town centre and 2 local pubs just a minutes walk away, we decided to eat out and drink out, saving ourselves a lot of cash. I'm happy to pay good money for good food, but the prices for food were just too high for a hotel restuarant, and nothing on the limited menu that my 13 year old daughter liked. This is a large hotel, so I think it would be good for management to extend there food menu for family's and at reasonable prices, even if it's just the bar menu. Opposite the hotel there are numerous outlets, restaurants, take away pizza, kebabs etc. Hotel is in a great locations. If you like playing pool, there is a Rielys pool bar 100yards from the hotel. Would I stay again? Yes I would, staff were friendly, hotel was clean, had a good night sleep, bed was comfy, shower worked fine, large TV, great location, local shops outside, walking distance into town, my only issue really, was that we had to pay for parking at the hotel, to stay at the hotel, I personally don't think that's ok.

A spotlessly clean room, in an excellent location, within easy access to Coventry & Warwickshire. This was our first time staying here, so the peculiarities of having no one on site, was a little daunting prior to arrival, but the information we received ensured there was nothing to worry about. The access code allowed easy entrance to the building and our room (room 7) was spacious and spotless. There is ample parking in front and at the rear of the property and we found everything to our liking. One special mention needs to be the ease of access in to Coventry from here, with the route through the new ”JLR access road” meaning that there is no need to go on to the busy A45 at all, as it brings you out at the London Road, so the CBS Arena and City Centre are easily accessible, as is Kenilworth/Leamington & Warwick plus Rugby and the M45 is only 15 minutes drive. All in all we were really pleased to have found this little gem, with a couple of pubs & restaurants within walking distance, it is very good value for money.

Upon arrival I had major reservations about what I had booked. The photos on the booking site were nothing like what I was seeing. The car park was nealry rubble and the surrounding grounds were poorly kept. Reception was quite grand in appearance but that's the only good point this hotel has going for it. For the size of the place there is hardly any staff. The room I had booked wasn't available now so given another. Waking down the hallway I could see the carpet littered in stains, absolutely filthy Room was very dated and the furniture was a collection of random bits, our coffee table was missing a leg and was proped up by a chair. Some old 5 pin plug sockets by the beds for the lamps. Bar area was also tired in appearance although staff were very friendly. The whole place needs a major overhaul.

Hotel service, the environment is ok. The facilities are not satisfactory. The first room wash basin was not smooth, because it was late, no one repaired it, and changed it. However, the flushing of the toilet was a little problem, the water kept flowing, I didn't want to bother, and repaired it myself. The environment is ok, very quiet, unfamiliar with the geography of Coventry. It feels like it is in the village, about six kilometers from the railway station. Fortunately, it is very convenient to play Uber. There is nothing to go around, go out for more than a kilometer and have not found a restaurant to eat, return to the hotel, only to find inside the hotel, taste good, beer is great! The price is about the same as the London restaurant.

I genuinely can’t get my head around the dreadful reviews about this place. I booked it through ***********, because it looked pleasant enough, and got it at a fantastic price of just £35 for one of the small pods. The night before I arrived, I discovered the terrible reviews and panicked. I called the venue on the day, expressed my nervousness and pleaded that they double check everything was okay. Whether they did that and that is why I had a good day, I don’t know, but I can hardly fault it. The pod itself was very small, but the bed was perfectly adequate for two people, although I was on my own, with a decent television with excellent reception and superb fast Wi-Fi. The pod was clean and tidy, as was the washroom in the adjacent pod. This is allegedly a shared facility, although I didn’t encounter anybody else during my stay. There was a very busy activity happening over at the conference centre, and I’d be lying. If I said I couldn’t hear some of the music and shouting. But it’s a conference centre. What do people expect? And it wasn’t exactly ruining my evening, I came to spend the night in a Pod outdoors, not a lodge in the middle of the Lake District. The lady on reception, who I spoke to when I rang earlier today, and who also met me when I arrived, was absolutely delightful, confirming she had only recently joined the company, but was clearly dedicated and very professional. I will definitely stay again

We attended a family wedding at the property. There were problems with the checkin process (the team actually checked us out midstay and we found out by accident -- we almost didn't have a room for the night of the wedding itself), problems with our dinner in the restaurant (wrong food order taken for 2 of the table, cold sauces with the steaks, raw meat, wine plonked on the table unopened, dirty plates left for 25 minutes, and unused glassware and plates not cleared), sullen faces in the bar area, and the rooms were stifling hot (the windows did not open). The team let the property down. They just don't care. They don't ”own” what it is that they do for a living. It's a shame.

Perfect location for visiting the beautiful town of Warwick it’s less that 5 min drive to the castle about a 25 min walk. Room was great as were the Staff. Breakfast was ok, very busy and limited choices, but decent enough. Bacon was very good although I think everyone else agrees as it went super quick!

Outstanding
GGuest UserIt is really convenient to be 2 minutes away from the train station. It is a very good choice in Coventry. The breakfast is also good. The customer service at the front desk is very warm and thoughtful, which is touching.
GGuest UserReally had high hopes at first glance this hotel has so much promise, being from Coventry originally I'm so glad this iconic building has been transformed and I will say it's been done well in parts however the reason for my star rating is the following. I'm on my second night of two and sadly had to move rooms. I had Room 27 first walk in was a huge Big Double you could easily use this as a family room it was that spacious, the downside and I would soon find out is this room is a connecting room and unfortunately I had very loud neighbours to which let's say I could hear everything. I'm also not the only person too mention this on their reviews. I had to complain about the noise during the night and again in the morning. Room 27 I sadly also found the bed far too soft and had around four hours sleep. Worth a mention that Room 27 over looks the courtyard and again I found that to be quite loud. I'm already feeling drained having travelled 1000's of miles to attend a family funeral. I'm now in Room 315 and what a let down. This is not a Big Double. It has the same lovely touches that go into detail of the hotels history however the room is so small. It's not a connection room and is a corner room which is one thing. I've tried to sleep and can't again the bed is not to a great standard honestly I find premier inn have better quality beds and if it wasn't booked I would of happily of gone there tonight. Upon check out I'm going to ask for a 50% refund and won't settle for less as having no sleep goes along way for anyone during any hotel stay. I would rate the breakfast as 3 / 5 i t was nice enough but nothing special. The staff are friendly enough but sadly with no sleep and some rooms not what you think your getting ie Room 315 is definitely not a Big Double I do feel sold out and I'm just disappointed and drained. Dreading my journey home tomorrow now with no sleep. I will add sense writing this as I booked through a third party and raised my complaints I was spoken too on the room phone by a Manager who had informed me my third party had spoken too them and wanted to know what my complaint was. Once I informed them of the noise and bed quality of both rooms ie the beds they snapped down the phone to me that this is a new hotel and the beds are new. They wouldn't be issuing a refund and basically my complaint was shot down. I have worked for over 25 years in the hotel trade even owning my own business of running successful hotels and bnbs. None of my staff would speak down to a customer in such a manner. They did end the call with see how I get on if I can sleep and speak to them in the morning however my mind is made up. This hotel is being run by monkeys who couldn't manage to peel a banana, let alone run what is meant to be a 4 star hotel. It's a 3 star over all at best with no pool, the poor quality of beds, lacking an average breakfast, is not that of any four star hotel I have been at or run successfully. Thankfully my third party are not i
GGuest UserWe were able to check in at 3.00pm. Room was very nice, slippers and robes provided and the tea/coffee facilities had the added benefit of a coffee machine. Bed was very comfy and warm with lovely pillows. Breakfast was good. Everything there that you would expect, cooked well and hot. We were a little disappointed though on the morning of departure when we attempted to get the lift down to reception only to find when it arrived that the maids trolley had been placed in there so we had to use the stairs. This caused a problem for my husband who suffers with his hip. Secondly, on leaving we were not informed that the barrier was open. We saw the sign in the car park saying we needed to get a token from reception, so we drove back and went in to reception to ask, only to be informed we didn’t need one. It would have been helpful to have had this information on checkout. Other than this everything else was good
GGuest UserI experienced excellent customer service when I had a booking query. I had cause to change my booking and when I called the staff answered promptly and were very friendly and helpful which was very much appreciated.
TTsarskayaWe came to Coventry for duties but had to take our dog with us. searching for a cheap night over this hotel was a perfect choice. Located on the services area has fuel, Starbucks and few places to eat. Pet charge is 15£ but the room rate was 38 which is a real deal. Bed is not that bad, windows are opening for fresh air, shower is clean. Good option for a travelers on low budget.
GGuest UserThe hotel arranged for me a room with barrier-free facilities, which was not very hygienic and made us uncomfortable. There is no air-conditioning in the room, only a fan. The UK is a bit unbearable when it encounters a severe summer.
We got married here recently, and we would 100% recommend staying here or considering it for your wedding venue, the venue is gorgeous and the wedding planning couldn't of been smoother with Robert as our wedding planner he's a really lovely person. We also was lucky enough to have the help of Adrian and David who were incredible on our wedding day no job being too much for them and were such nice people, and also Mark who was the reception who couldn't do enough for us the night before the wedding. Our DJ who was included in our wedding package was so so good and we'd recommend him over and over. Loved every bit of our stay here including our family and friends. Looking forward to coming back for our complimentary anniversary stay.
RRen.nyaIt was compact, but I was able to spend quietly in a calm environment. There are also microwave ovens, cooking utensils and tableware, so you can cook simple dishes. Especially if you just sleep, there is no problem at all. I didn't get the code for the main entrance at check-in, so I was in trouble because I didn't know it. But when I contacted him by phone, he kindly responded.
FFrequentFlier40188It took us over an hour to find it travelling 5 miles, postcode or address was no use tiler rang and receptionist told us to put David Lloyd in sat nav and hey presto straight there
