Great pub very clean the bar staff superb food all home made especially the chios and cheese onion pie and mushy peas steak was also great toiliets are immaculate nice outside area very friendly and a great ambiance nothing was to much trouble for the barnaid and was made to feel very welcome first visit and food & Drink put on a tab i wiuld highly recommend this for stop off

I stayed last week in room Pen y Ghent, the room was lovely and had everything I needed, my only issue was the constant mechanical vibration or throbbing that seemed to be coming from downstairs , maybe extractor fan / fridge / compressor maybe. It was pulsing through the bed and pillows so I must have been directly above it, it was very annoying as l needed an early night as I was getting up very early. It did seem to stop once the pub closed after 11pm but I was shattered by then, it was not a pleasant stay. I left at 5.30am so didn’t see anyone the next morning. I have messaged the pub but have had no answer from them.

Really rude and unwelcoming staff. We popped in around half 11 and politely asked if the pub were serving food, suspecting it might be too early. We were met with unfriendly staff sat outside smoking who simply gave us a two word answer and sarcasm - no smile or even any explanation as to when they start to serve food. No manners and they looked unhappy to even be there to be honest. Really unprofessional and unfriendly - won't be re-visiting or recommending. Rooms: 1/5 | Service: 1/5 | Location: 1/5p

Lovely cosy inn very friendly staff .nice bedroom and bathroom but mattress was terrible.bedding was lovely though . breakfast was nice and adequate .would stay again if different mattress .bit out of the way from Skipton but lovely village

You ​ I cannot understand why this outstanding restaurant is not fully booked and rammed with diners - quite simply we have stumbled across a place that served some of the best food I have eaten since the lockdown. A super choice on the menu, cooked to perfection and all at a very reasonable price. Along with very welcoming hosts - people, if you don't go you are seriously missing out!!!

5 for lunch on chance,on the way back from the Lake District, never been before… I can recommend the lamb roulade special, steak pies were generous & looked homemade, even the veggie was happy. Great food, good beer👍 We,d definitely call back in again👍

We as a family stayed nearby. From the first day we arrived and had lunch in the Maypole we were very pleased it was our local for a week. Eight of us went for Mother's day. Delicious home cooked food. Service was excellent. Ate there 4 days out of 7.

Cosy hotel. Lovely spacious room which was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Shower was huge and loads of hot water. We had evening meal and breakfast, both delicious and perfectly cooked.

We arrived on a busy Friday night so had a drink in the pub and were invited to do a pub quiz which was good fun. The room was beautiful. Low ceilings but a good amount of space to move about. Very clean and also quiet so we had a good sleep. Breakfast served 08:30-09:30 which was perfect for us. Cooked breakfast or cereal. Basics but done well. Ideal really. The staff are all very friendly too and treated us both well.
