Baymont Inn and Suites by Wyndham Columbus / Near OSU

The floors in the room were not cleaned and had visible dirt still on them. There were cigarette burns on the bathtub. Only one of the two large towels were clean. The other towel had dead dry bugs stuck to it. The room had holes in the wall where it looked like shelving was at one time. The toilet paper holder was missing from the wall. The room overall was subpar compared to other Wyndham hotels.

Even for cheap hotel, it was a bad experience. It is a typical motel queen room with a desk and TV, bathroom and parking included in front of the door. The service at check in was not very friendly, but it was fast and objective. The smell of cigarettes in the room is unbearable, pervading all the clothes, a smell that remains for days on the clothes This same smell exists in the sheets, pillows and blanket. The bathroom works, but the shower faucet drips non-stop

I didn’t have a chance to stay at this hotel due to arriving late. I had no clue a hotel closed at 11pm. So I thought I could come the next day and stay their for one night but the reservation got canceled which no one told me. Nonetheless the customer service from Trip.com was amazing. They gave me my full refund. I will definitely use Trip.com again. They are helpful and understanding.

No fridge.

I understand we were in a smoking room, but couldn’t it have been cleaner than that? The hotels phone barely worked, so glad we had a cell phone. Some of the lamps in the room didn’t work…..like seriously? The restroom barely had toilet paper, and there was a used wash rag still looked like it was wet (and no I wasn’t touching it) in the bathroom. We needed to heat up food and the microwave and it didn’t work. The sheets/covers looked suspect and there was already a burn hole in the paper thin comforter. The floor looked and felt dirty as if it hasn’t been cleaned. The bed had only two thin pillows instead of four as pictured when you viewed the property. We were tired and called it a night. Next day we went to the store to grab a few things to come back to the room smelling like a freshly smoked cigar!!!!! Neither of us smoke cigarettes let alone a cigar. I called down to the front desk and ask them who was in the room because I smelled like a fresh cigar and knowing we don’t smoke cigarettes or cigars. So I called the front desk, and they said they would look at the cameras, but they never got back at us not even a checkout time.

My husband and I went to Columbus for the Arnold Sports Festival. It looks like it’s fairly close to the convention center on a map, but in reality it is about 15 minutes away (which isn’t bad unless you’re using Uber to go back and forth). There was no ironing board or any extra amenities in the room aside from shampoo (not even toilet paper). Expect 5 TV channels, thin walls, and lots of sound. The staff however was kind and they do have a room service option. It’s away from everything, BUT right off the freeway. Definitely didn’t feel like a safe area to walk around, and if I had my children with me we probably would have switched hotels.

The room was very unclean. There was what appeared to be a smear of dried blood on the floor. The comforter and sheets where covered in stains that seemed to be dried bodily fluids. There were large amounts of long hair in the bed. It was quite gross. I do not recommend staying at this hotel.

It was a nice hotel, could’ve used more towels, garbage bags, and toliet paper but the front desk will give you some if you ask. Pretty clean and comfortable stay.
