Due to hotel circumstances, I stayed at another hotel nearby. Actually, I was embarrassed, but it was a little far away, but I had a good time because I was taken to a good place. Albergo has a great location and is within walking distance of everywhere if you went to see the Cologne Christmas Market. I couldn't go to the room, only stayed at the reception, and then moved to another place, but the people at the reception were very friendly and the desk area was tidy.

The hotel is very centrally located in Cologne's old town. We stayed there for one night. The staff at check-in and check-out were very friendly. Everything was clean and tidy in the room. There was nothing to complain about.
We would like two things for this hotel:
The mattresses have seen better days in our opinion and need to be replaced.
There are curtains, but unfortunately they are not light-proof. It gets very bright in the room in the morning. Not everyone who books there is on a business trip and has to get up early in the morning. 😉

We stayed for only one night, so cannot really comment a lot but will share few observations. Great location, close to center. Good wifi. All necessary facilities present, like toiletries, towels, slippers, etc. They also have a lift. However, other facilities were absent like refrigerator, mini bar, etc. (but this was known already). I had requested for a cot while making the booking and was very happy to find out that the cot was there. Finding the room was a bit tricky and puzzling, but manageable. For my wife, the bed was fine, but on my side, it was very uncomfortable. The mattress wasn't really intact, and was somewhat bent from the middle part.

The hotel is clean, warm and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I had read reviews before stating that rooms overlooking the market may be noisy - 100% correct. The rooms are above the restaurant so we experienced a lot of noise from people moving their chairs in and out on the tiled floors which cannot be helped of course however, the noise from people who’ve had a lot to drink, have lost all inhibitions and have also lost their internal volume control was too much at 4am. I would just recommend to request a room on the other side of the hotel. We did enjoy our time in Köln even though it was extremely busy on the weekend we chose to travel which was the last weekend before Christmas!

Perfect location for the Christmas markets. All within walking distance. Also not far from the train station. Our room over looked one of the Christmas markets, which was great. Room was clean and hotel staff were very friendly. Thank you for a great stay!

We stayed here for three nights with the purpose of visiting the Christmas Markets in Koln. The hotel is on the Heumarkt, which is where the famous Heinzels Wintermarchen is located. We had rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors not facing the main square. The rooms were comfortable and perfect for a comfortable, quiet night's sleep. We had breakfast two days, and it was typical buffet fare. We also had dinner at the restaurant one night, great food and fast service. I'd highly recommend this hotel for a visit to Koln!
