Hotels near Georgia International Convention Center in College Park

I didn’t read the reviews as I ended up in Atlanta unexpectedly after good old Southwest cancelled my Austin flight & Atlanta was my only option to get back home. I’m glad I didn’t anyway because I probably wouldn’t have booked it but I have nothing but good things to say about my 1 night stay. The neighbourhood probably isn’t the best but I wasn’t here to sightsee The shuttle came quickly & the journey from the airport took less than 10 mins The hotel was bright and clean & the lady on reception was very friendly & welcoming. She acknowledged my IHG platinum status & I was checked in very quickly I had room 616. It was spotlessly clean, modern & comfortable with all the hoped for amenities. Fridge, hair dryer, microwave, coffee maker, iron etc. It was also quiet & the air conditioning unit was good as I like a cold room. Clean bathroom with a great shower. Breakfast this morning was also excellent. Bacon, eggs, muffins, pancake machines, juices. They also have free coffee & tea available all day. Didn’t use pool as it’s chilly but it looked clean The lady at reception this morning let me keep my room a few hours longer & was also really lovely. Everyone I encountered smoked & said good morning. As a lone British female stranded in Atlanta I felt safe, comfortable & welcome & I would happily stay again should the need arise Ps I didn’t see any homeless people sleeping in the lobby?!

The room had a pissy smell and the carpets had a smell they need to change the carpets on the floor, no continental breakfast , no ice . The pool are wasn't open it look a mess . The service was ok .but when you call the service desk no one answered. You had to go downstairs

After a long flight, we arrived at the Atlanta Airport at midnight. My family and I were too exhausted to make the drive to our next destination. I had a few IHG points and decided to use them at this hotel. I assumed the hotel would be average because of the location. I was ok with average because I was so exhausted. When we arrived, Keisha at the Front desk provided professional, upbeat, and kind service. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Upon checking out, I had a wonderful encounter with Dee at the Front desk. Again, I received phenomenal customer service. I will definitely add this hotel to list of places to stay.

I have come to ask for more from this organization-and guess what?!?! They give more than what I expected!!!!! Amazing!!! I just checked into this hotel and this is the single worst hotel in the IHG portfolio and it’s all because of customer service. Clearly there is no training provided and it’s not regarded. I walked in the hotel with my grandson and was not greeted by the (apparent manager Brad Tolliver) or Ashantia, the front desk clerk. She promptly asked for my name and picture ID. There’s a wheel out front for Club Members to spin and win things so I spinned the wheel. She paid no attention nor did she bother to ever acknowledge if I was a reward member. I asked her if there was a room available on a higher floor. She said “no, your room is on the 2nd floor”. I said ok. Sigh. She’s not nice. But I’m gonna keep it in the road. She asked if I was parking a car. I said yes but at the time there was a party coming out of the elevator who was talking so I couldn’t hear her. I asked her what she said. She looked up at me and rolled her eyes and never repeated herself. She took my credit card. Said that the parking would come out of the incidentals. (I know that my parking is included in my rate but I’m trying not to be confrontational). She walks away and doesn’t say goodbye. Just drops my keys. Doesn’t say where the elevator is, welcome to the indigo… nothing .. just disappears. I ask Brad Tolliver if there is a manager. He states he is one. I ask him if he’s ok with her behavior and level of customer service and he’s silent. He says nothing! Not a thing!! I can’t get past that. This hotel isn’t nice enough to deal with bar customer service. It needs updates but if the customer service was better it would be tolerable. The area of town is sketchy at best and it’s noisy because It’s Right by a roadway. It’s a no for me.

The farthest hotel from the skytrain hotel station, but only a 2-3 minute walk. If you have a lot of luggage, you can also call a taxi to pick up and drop off at the station. The room is large and clean, the water is hot enough, and there are 2 free small bottles of water. The sound insulation is very good and not noisy at all.

New hotel, clean large rooms, huge beds, nice breakfast

The proximity to the Atlanta airport was amazing! We walked out the front doors of the hotel, turned right and we were at the FlyTrain station next door. Once on the FlyTrain, the very next stop was the airport. We were able to get from our hotel room to baggage check-in, in 7 minutes. The rooms are completely sound proof. We could see the airplanes, but couldn't hear any noise. We didn't want to eat at one of the neighboring hotels so we got in our car and ten minutes away we found many great eating options such as Olive Garden, Panda Express, etc. Our room was perfect for our family of 5 with two beds and a trundle bed under the sofa. Everyone we encountered on the staff was professional, helpful, and friendly. We would definitely stay again if we have a flight out of Atlanta. There were a couple minor issues we had with the hotel. The room design is sleek and modern, but the bathroom doors have translucent windows so in the night when someone gets up to go to the bathroom, they turn on the light in the bathroom, and it shines through the window into the sleeping area. Whoever designed this was thinking only of the aesthetics and not the practical aspects. The showers have large pump style bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The conditioner was out. Our room was only supplied with one trash can liner, yet there were three trash cans. Our kids were disappointed that there was no swimming pool. We were told it was covered over to make a business meeting room. We got to the hotel early in the hopes of swimming so that was a disappointment. There really isn't anything to do in the hotel that is appealing to kids and teens. Also, no waffle maker at the hotel breakfast.

Checking in was fast with friendly staff. Very near Atlanta airport rental centre if you need to return a vehicle. They also have a shuttle service. You can order food if you arrive early from a third party. Menu has a lot of variety but appears to favour Chinese food. Overall my stay was pleasant And I will stay here again. Room was comfortable.
