DoubleTree by Hilton Cluj - City Plaza Reviews

The room is large and clean. It is quiet, has beautiful scenery, is close to the park, and can walk to the city center. It was a good stay. It is suitable for business trips. I will choose this place next time I come to Cluj.

The DoubleTree has all the ingredients for a perfect stay in Cluj. The location is excellent (quiet, yet close to the main sights), the rooms are clean and beautiful, and the staff is outstanding. rFrom check-in, to asking for recommendations to the delicious breakfasts, the DoubleTree had everything we were looking and hoping for.

Our company has organized an International Summit in June 2024 at the hotel, and we have accommodated our guests here. Everything was perfectly arranged and organized and just in time. The staff is professionally trained and friendly, always willing to help and find a solution. Overall, I recommend the hotel, especially for business matters and events, and accommodating international guests, in search of being close to the city centre and having all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay.

The stay at Double Tree Hilton was fantastic The overall service by the staff was stellar and their friendly manner and enthusiasm to assist made us feel very welcome and taken care of The restaurant staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and made many excellent suggestions as to what to eat , the breakfast team was the same we were here a number of days and they even dialed in to our preferences House keeping kept the room in tip top shape and it was a pleasure to interact with them All in all the entire team made us feel very happy we chose to stay here Well done guys !

A wonderful 6 nights spent doing a combination of business and leisure. Impeccable staff service including organising a hair dressing appointment at very short notice. Swimming pool and spa are excellent after long flights or long days working. A delight is the quality of food in the Marco Polo Restaurant. While Cluj has many restaurants within walking distance, we were so impressed by the flavours, textures and variety that we chose to eat in. A great convenience is that the restuarant is open for lunch and then across the afternoon into the evening so no hassle to eat whenever you need to. Breakfasts have a wide variety and there is something different each day which is a nice touch when staying for 6 days. Very comfortable bed with both softer and firmer pillows and lovely fluffy bath sheets. Front desk staff were helpful whether day or night shift and speaking English was no problem - there was always at least one person who was more than proficient. Location is excellent - 5 - 8 mins walk into the old city centre which gives an immediate sense of being in Cluj. A park with a lake nearby too. Many restaurants serving both traditional Romanian dishes and a wide variety to suit different palates and diets. We embarked on an ice cream tasting and found it not possible to try out all the many outlets. History abounds and many photo opportunities. We will be back and will be very glad to stay at DoubleTree again

In a great location with easy access to a great variety of restaurants and bars. A short walk to the city park.

Clean, pleasant staff greeting, howver, location was disappointing as view is all construction and tucked behind from the main city center. Walking distance though to shops and food. I was also disappointed I didn’t get offered a cookie upon check-in. They said I could purchase it. All in all, hotel is good.

The breakfast service is best. Thanks for Chatu, Muthu and others in Marcopolo restaurant. Rooms are clean and spacious. Front desk service is good. Hotel location is very close to the city center. Many restaurants are on the walking distance.

I was looking forward to our stay at this hotel. However, the hotel seems tired and in dire need of a refresh. The bathroom in my room was not in good shape. While the shower was ok, the shower cabin had serious signs of wear and tear. And the sink pedestal was in very bad shape.. I would not recommend this hotel, especially at this price point.

Even I prefer and like Hilton chain services this hotel disapoitend me…I have tried to book a night and it was sold out however when I tried to do it for 2 nights, including the initial one as well, the room was available. In conclusion, they are forcing you for a minimum nights in their hotel as a guest otherwise your are not interesting for them.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. It is in a really convenient location a few minutes walk from the old part of town and also a few minutes walk from Central Park. There are many good restaurants nearby. We had a large room with a separate dining table and sofa area which was nice and spacious. The room was conveniently located on the 1st floor (2nd including restaurant floor) and accessible via stairs. There was reasonable buffet breakfast included in the price and the staff at breakfast were exceptionally nice and cheerful. Good shower and convenient car park at the back of the hotel. Recommended and we would stay here again if visiting the lovely town of Cluj.

I stayed here for 4 nights in June. The people that work at the hotel are very friendly and helpful and the hotel has a great location: about 25 minutes from the airport and then 10 minutes walk to most sightseeing/city centre locations. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the room was very comfortable and clean. I didn’t use the pool but it looked nice. Would recommend.

One my favorite places to stay ever! Great location and felt so welcomed! Great rooms and love their breakfast buffet!
