Red Roof Inn Clifton Park

Honestly, my husband and I had pretty much stopped booking at Red Roof. We were running into dirty rooms, no towels, no soap, uncomfortable beds, etc. An electrical issue in our home forced us to spend two nights at this location. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, everything that should be there was there, the bed was really comfortable, and the staff was so friendly! While I’m not sure we’ll still patronize other locations, this is a very nice place to stay.

Unfortunately, the pandemic has created a category of hotel properties that are in dire need of maintenance yet continue to rent out unfit rooms at premium rates in some mis-guided attempt to recover COVID losses on the backs of paying cliental apparently unconcerned with past or future customer loyalty – This property would fit into this category! On the good side as Hilton Gold members, we did receive early check in & late check out and the staffs were pleasant and helpful, as well the property is located close to shops, restaurants and the main highway. The first suite we were assigned was in such serious need of maintenance that it should have been removed from inventory, instead it was shamefully & greedily rented out to a loyal Hilton Gold member. The couch was broken and made loud distressing noises with just one person sitting still on the appliance – More disgusting was the state of the washroom which exhibited nasty stains on every wall including streaks of liquid and a toilet that would not flush without four or more tries! After much discussion between maintenance, the front desk and a duty manager we were moved to a second suite. This suite was in somewhat better condition; however, the washroom wallpaper was still stained, the couch had disgusting stains which we covered with towels and the fridge rattled with a very annoying disruptive loud noise! Not wishing to go through another unpleasant ordeal with maintenance and the front desk and end up becoming labelled, we pulled the fridge out from the wall, removed the back cover and sourced the location of the noise as a bracket which we proceeded to repair with tools from the tool box in our personal vehicle. Optics - In both suites all of the lamp bases bedside and in the main room are disgustingly stained and rusted. Although probably clean, the visual represents the general state of the room which paying guests endure, a sight which is inconsistent with the Hilton Homewood Suites brand known for quality! The Wi-Fi is disgustingly slow, often taking 30 seconds or more to load a page or requiring continuous refreshing to properly view a site which in our connected society reeks of a property money grab whereby clients are charged an exorbitant fee of some five dollars per day to upgrade to a faster internet package…… If you need to print out a boarding pass or other private “for your eyes only particulars” the guest printer has been removed and the required procedure is to email your documents to a hotel email address for printing and viewing by hotel staffs! There is no guarantee that the documents are deleted or personal privacy protection is followed by hotel staffs which is disconcerting and requires leaving the property and sourcing secure printing which is an impossibility! To add insult to injury the general manager saw fit to reply with a standardized form letter which failed to address the issues and hoped we would return…… While this was not our first stay at th

We spent 2 nights at the Clifton park Holiday Inn express The room was clean and well appointed Loved having the Kuerig in the room and the very spacious bathroom The indoor pool was so nice because the water was warm and so was the room ( wish they had a few more pool towels) The breakfast was really good There was a good variety of hot and cold foods as well as a good assortment of fruit I loved that there was coffee available in the lobby This hotel is near our family When we visit this is our go to place! Oh the location is great — near shopping and several restaurants and bars (one bar is several steps from the front door) While this hotel is around a busy area, the rooms are quiet and peaceful
