Good location, clean room, outstanding mattress!! Will come again

This hotel absolutely falls short of what you should expect from a Premier Inn. Whilst you expect basic, the package is usually delivered to a reasonable standard, this hotel didn’t meet the mark. Location-wise the hotel was great for where I was working. Parking was sufficient. Outside of the above, unfortunately the perks end there. There is little-to-no phone signal in the hotel. I couldn’t make any texts/calls in the room and signal was non-existent in the reception and restaurant. The free WiFi was poor and did not allow me to be able to complete any work on my laptop. The restaurant has an EXTREMELY limited menu. Unless you have dinner included, I highly recommend you dine elsewhere due to the lack of choice. The rooms require an overhaul. Hygiene was not the best and as you will see in other reviews the interior is beginning to show its age.

We have stayed here before 3 times and found it fine. But this time I paid extra to upgrade the room mostly to get the upgraded wi-fi for my Firestick. I couldn't get the Firestick to connect as I needed to fill in a browser form with the log in details they sent me via email. I didn't have a brwoser on my Firestick and couldn't download one as I couldn't connec to the wi-fi. Managed to use my phone as a hotspot despite poor signal and downloaded a browser, filled the form in and it said I couldn't connect as I already had an account for the wifi with that email address. Gave up. I really wanted to watch something during the night as the bed was so uncomfortable. Turns out the famous Hypnos mattress we love is no more (I even ordered one for home from the first time we ever stayed in a Premier Inn) and they've replaced them with Silentnight mattress which was far to hard for my liking. I had a total of about 2 hours sleep. If it was so good and it wasn't broken - why fix it? I was going to mention it when checking out but the member of staff who was on was busy with customers for breakfast and I needed to go. Unfortunately before our stay last night I'd booked to come again so I've got that to not look forward to now.

Not very happy. The service was good but we had to make up the single bed by ourselves. The duvet that was given to us for the single bed had blood on it and it had a stain on the corner. I booked a triple room needing the single bed as i booked it. And it was not made up and had to do it ourselves

I like to go somewhere that has some bad reviews as well as good because then I know that they were made by real people and not these companies that pay to receive good reviews. I also realise that some people will never be happy and always spend their time being negative. Here is our take on it. We arrived with an electric car, but the electric hook up didn't like us, but that was fine Morrisons was nearby and had loads! Had no trouble parking onsite, though it is £7 each 24hrs, but free to come and go and pay on exit, so don't forget that! No sign of bedbugs as someone mentioned and had a lovely premier plus room on the 2nd floor. It had a fabulous view of the sea and pier with a lovely chair to sit in. (Rm 204). Room very clean, so thanks to the pleasant friendly cleaners we met. Yes you have to step into the bath for the shower, yes no bath mat to harbour germs, so just hold on as the shower is fantastic. Breakfast was much better the 2nd day with Daniel cooking and the ladies Alison and Holly were very welcoming clearing up after us. Friendly booking in, and yes, a little trouble with the key card but that's the system and not the staffs fault! Just chill! Would definitely stay again and we are sad to leave. My brother and I stayed here for one night. The rooms were lovely and clean. I much prefer the 1st floor, but this time I was on the ground floor. Had to keep curtains shut as people in the car park could look in. We paid for the meal deal £20 for 2 course evening meal with a drink and unlimited breakfast. Although the menu is limited the food we had was excellent. The staff was so friendly and helpful. 5 stars. Look forward to going back. Can't fault the staff. They were down to earth, and it was nice to have a laugh with them.
