I stayed at Adamou Gardens during December 2021 and I must say that I was extremely disappointed in the hotel. The front-desk staff were helpful - particularly in printing off my Passenger Locator Form on my departure day and recommending me a local taxi - but, sadly, that is all the good I have to say. The location of the hotel is inconvenient and there is minimal public transport. This means in practice, if you don’t have a car, you will have at least a 30 minute walk into town. Not ideal. The worse thing though was the state of the room. The hot water in the shower didn’t work, meaning that I had to have cold showers. The TV would not turn on and the boards were unclean. I was not confident enough that the cutlery had been adequately washed to try it - instead resorting to my bringing in my own from a local supermarket. One of the most totally unacceptable things though was that I discovered - upon entering the bathroom - that there were no towels there, on in the room at all. Instead, a notice saying that they can be hired from reception for €10! I was utterly shocked by this - never before in any place have I stayed has a venue resorted to this level of deceit. Had they been open about this on the booking website I would have totally avoided - I this see it as my public duty to warn others here. Anyhow, polite as they were, those who run the hotel are not exactly the sharpest knives in the draw. They didn’t foresee an easy way for guests to get around the deceptive towel charge - pull off the sheets and duvet cover and use the bedding to dry oneself! I duly obliged and felt pretty smug having saved €10. I just hope that - but can’t say I am confident that - the bedsheets were washed before the next guest arrived. As I departed, I was somewhat encouraged to leave a ‘positive review’ of my experiences. Unfortunately, given my overall experience - there was nothing positive to report! Stay clear - and don’t end up paying €10 for towels!
