Hotels in Shuangqiao District, Chengde

If you want to fully explore the Chengde Mountain Resort, then avoid the summer holidays and stay at the Qi Wang Lou. While a bit pricey, it's truly worth it. It's only a 292-meter walk to the main gate of the resort, and the hotel itself is a historical site. The Qi Wang Lou was built in 1750 and is the sixth of the thirty-six scenic spots named by Emperor Qianlong within the Mountain Resort. With only 57 rooms, it's like staying directly in Emperor Qianlong's grand study. There are even trees personally planted by Qianlong in the courtyard, along with deer, peacocks, and cats kept by the hotel. In the mornings, the deer roam around. The key is that there are fewer crowds and the scenery is beautiful; it actually feels more like a scenic spot than the crowded main resort. This time, I was with family, so we chose a two-bedroom suite. To my surprise, it was the same type of suite used by dignitaries – spacious, comfortable, quiet, and clean. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant both nights, and it was quite good. Every staff member was kind, friendly, and attentive.

The rooms at Atour are consistently clean and comfortable, providing a sense of peace. The front desk staff and the service personnel on the 10th floor were very enthusiastic, attentive, and thoughtful. The hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance of the Summer Palace, which allowed us to visit early and avoid tour groups, making for a great experience. We also didn't have to queue for the mountain shuttle before 8 AM. Furthermore, everything you could need is right downstairs, including various restaurants, bubble tea and coffee shops, malls, and supermarkets. I would definitely choose this place again next time.

For my trip to Chengde, I chose the highest-rated Hilton Garden Inn in the area. Aside from the facilities showing a bit of age, especially the carpet in the guest rooms, everything else was excellent. The location is relatively quiet, situated between Chengde South Station and the scenic spots. Breakfast was plentiful, with fresh ingredients and just the right taste. The service was also superb; both the front desk staff and restaurant staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. It's definitely worth praising and recommending, and I hope they continue to maintain their high standards.

This hotel is conveniently located very close to the Summer Resort, making it a great base for visiting various attractions, which are all roughly equidistant. The facilities are comprehensive and very convenient to use. The cleanliness is also top-notch, which gives you peace of mind. The front desk staff are incredibly helpful and answered all our questions, even offering useful suggestions for our travel itinerary and sightseeing. We received complimentary snacks and drinks upon arrival, making us feel right at home.

I always stay at this hotel when passing through Chengde, and this time I booked it directly based on a recommendation from Ctrip. During check-in, I was told it was a special offer room, located at the very edge of the hotel. Thinking I was only staying one night and needed to travel the next day, I didn't pay much attention. However, as soon as I entered the room, I was overwhelmed by the strong smell of smoke. Around 4 AM, it suddenly became incredibly noisy downstairs, like people picking me up at the station shouting loudly. This lasted for over half an hour, waking me up. This is the first time I've encountered this situation in three stays. If I had been told beforehand that it would be this noisy, I would definitely have paid extra to change rooms. After all, I had to drive on the highway the next day, and not getting enough rest really affects my performance. For those driving, please be aware of this beforehand and ask about the room location and noise levels!

Facilities: Standard hotel facilities, well-equipped and convenient. They have their own parking lot with an attendant to help you park. Environment: Although it's in a busy area, it's very quiet, and the surroundings are very convenient. Taxis, in particular, are very accessible and inexpensive, so you don't need to drive to attractions. Attraction parking lots are often too small and inconvenient for self-driving. Service: Very attentive, any issues were resolved immediately. The hotel restaurant, especially, has great food; we ate all three nights at the restaurant on the fourth floor. Breakfast was also very rich and varied.

Came to Chengde for a visit in between catching a basketball game in Beijing. Saw great reviews for Zhaofeng International on Trip.com, and it didn't disappoint! The room was spacious, bright, and comfortable, with a clean and well-maintained bathroom that had a separate shower and toilet. My only minor complaint was that the shower water temperature tended to fluctuate. The breakfast area was huge, and the food was varied and tasty. It was easy to get a taxi from the hotel to various attractions. A slight bummer was getting soaked in a downpour when I went to the Summer Resort, but overall, it was a really good experience! 💟

The hotel's location is superb, very close to the Lizheng Gate entrance and even closer to the Chengguan Gate exit. After touring the Mountain Resort, it's just a one-minute walk back to the hotel – absolutely wonderful!

The room was clean and tidy, and the soundproofing was good. It's only a few minutes from the Mountain Resort, and right next to a express restaurant. The bus stop is right outside. Special shout-out to the front desk staff for their attentive and enthusiastic service. The cleaning staff cleaned daily. The toilet was electric, and the wet and dry areas were well-separated. The shower had good water pressure and drained well, no standing water. Very satisfied.

The most surprising thing about this hotel was its prime location. A large shopping mall is just a 5-minute walk away, making it incredibly convenient for dining and shopping. There are also several local specialty restaurants nearby, allowing you to enjoy authentic local flavors without having to search for guides. The Summer Palace is also just a few minutes' drive away, saving you the hassle of traveling long distances. Although the hotel isn't new, it's well-maintained, and the rooms are clean, tidy, and comfortable. The front desk staff (Team 801) were particularly friendly and helpful. They proactively provided directions to nearby attractions upon check-in and responded promptly to any inquiries. The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but it was generally quite good, with a focus on Chinese cuisine. Also, the hotel has its own parking lot, making it extremely convenient for those driving, eliminating the need to worry about finding a spot. Overall, it's a great value and I'll definitely stay here again!
