The Harbour House

Charlottetown|0.76km from Victoria Park
This small hotel is a busy place, with a great location if you want to discover downtown Charlottetown; you can park your car and walk wherever you need to go. The hotel is in a residential area and there is a parking lot behind the hotel so you don’t need to park on the street. We booked a studio room with a balcony and it was sufficient for our stay. There was a tiny kitchen area, comfortable King bed, small sofa and a small bathroom. We didn’t make much use of the balcony as the weather was not conducive for sitting outside. The decorating was plain and neat. The cleaning attendant was very pleasant. There are some nice inside sitting areas for guests and we never saw anyone sitting in them so probably a balcony is not necessary. (Your choice!) The common areas are beautifully decorated. The breakfast area is large and the tables are preset for your arrival. If you want a simple breakfast with cereal and toast, you can help yourself. There are servers who will take your order for a more substantial breakfast and there were 6 choices. We were there for three days and everything was great! Each morning there were very yummy muffins. The women who served the breakfast were friendly and greeted guests with a fresh fruit salad. Whoever prepared the meals did a great job. It’s important to note that there is no elevator so if stairs are a problem you might call ahead to see if there is room that will suit you. The hotel is locked and you need to ring for someone to open the door until you have your own entry pass. They send specific instructions with your confirmation for the entry and parking information.

Amazing from start to finish. Besides having an amazing property in a perfect area. The staff are their greatest asset. In particular Emily, Ricardo, and Fred. MHG gets every detail right, especially hiring the best staff. They were amazing at booking, check-in, my stay, and check out. We were there during a snowstorm. They even shoveled out my car. Stayed in newly renovated jacuzzi room with beautiful fireplace. They have a happy hour which we enjoyed(week nights) We had the most amazing charcuterie board in our room with the most amazing cheeses and meats. One of the best I've ever had. The breakfast was served to my room. Eggs, sausage, hash browns. Hands down the best property on PEI. If you are looking for Romance and Elegance. This is the spot.

This historic property has been modernized to serve as a hotel. It has the grandeur and security suitable to the Queen and hasn’t slipped in the years since her visit. It serves a wonderful breakfast and is within walking distance to the harbour and other restaurants.

The location is very good, right in the city center, opposite the Federal Art Center, after dinner, I saw the song and dance ”Mama Mia”. The suites are very nice, the rooms are clean and tidy, and there is a jet whirlpool. Breakfast is ordered. There is a butler parking, 15 knives a day. Parking is also available on the roadside opposite the hotel and is free from 8pm to 6am.

We stayed in room 109, the Parkland suite and it was beautiful. It had a lovely king size bed, two large closets, a full kitchen including a washer and dryer, a seating area close to the tv, and the best feature of all was the lovely sun room with two really comfy armchairs and a large circular table, the perfect place for morning coffee or afternoon glass of wine. The bathroom was small but functional, with a single sink vanity and rainfall shower over the bathtub. The toiletries were lovely and were replaced daily by housekeeping, and the towels were so large and fluffy. Unlike a lot of reviews for the Sydney hotel I found the breakfast area ok, it was large, functional and decorated nicely. The only thing I found slightly weird was that the staff were on full view washing the dishes and could be seen reheating the food in the microwave. I think this area should at least be screened off. The food was good, but if you went around 10am then you are left with food that has been on the warmers a while, if you can get up early then the food will be fresher, we never managed it. One other great perk of this hotel is the ample free car parking so close to down. I highly recommend the Sydney and would most definitely stay here again if I ever return to Charlottetown.
