Pet Friendly Hotels in Charleston

While the location is ideal - we were within walking distance of all the touristy spots the hotel itself didn't meet our Hyatt level expectations. We booked a one bedroom ”suite”. The living space was a good sized area. The bedroom was extremely small. Not enough room to open our suitcase on the stand so we put it in the living area. The bathroom was super close to the bed and because there wasn't enough space to have a standard door, there was a sliding door that didn't have a guide on the bottom or a handle to fully pull the door closed. Because of this and the lock not working we couldn't ”close” the bathroom door or have privacy while using the bathroom. It felt more like an extended stay hotel than the Hyatt we've become accustomed to. Parking was either valet or use the public parking garage right next to the hotel. We chose public parking for the cost. After walking King Street - If we visit Charleston again we'll stay elsewhere.

I am in town weekly, and stay at this location about 90% of the time. The staff has always been most helpful and friendly. Rooms are always clean. Parking is convenient. The only negative that I have, is that the TV’s in all of the rooms are offset in an unusual position, which makes it difficult to watch from anywhere in the room.

Well besides the parking being a issue (have to park in a complicated parking garage, ie; floor 1 is for Publix, floor 2 for residence, floor 3 is divided, go left it’s residence parking, go right is “Spa and hotel” but not clearly marked for the area) Entrance is underwhelming, but actually nicer than the rooms. Balcony door hadn’t been opened in my 63 years, barely got it shut! Bed turn down, FOUND A HAIR IN MY BED, right where my face would lay, and the sheets feel like sandpaper, they’ve been washed and used so much they have pilz all over. ALSO….. the sheet had a hole in it. I did call the desk and the guy did reduce the bill by $40, and ONLY because I didn’t have it in me to move all my crap. Not impressed with the walls, they need repairs, not just paint. And yes…. The place smells like urine. Oh and let’s no even talk about the Kuerig stacked on top of the microwave, stacked on top of the mini mini fridge. The shower drips, curtains off the track and hooks missing. Not a class act for Holiday Inn Express. I’d suggest dumping this property or gutting it and starting over. We expect more out of HIE.

My family and I liked it very much after staying for one night, so we stayed for another night. The room is big enough, clean and comfortable, there are many guests with pets and children. Sometimes there are pets barking or children running around in the hallway, but overall it is quiet. The whole hotel is small and delicate, elegant everywhere, even the back stairs are clean, covered with thick carpets and perfumed. Simple breakfast buffet.

The room was clean and in good shape. My problem was we were not able to close the black out curtains and a bright street light shone in. The room had no view except for the air conditioning units. This disturbed our sleep all night. The food was good but a bit pricey. The service was good and the staff that we met were friendly. Over all I probably would stay here again, but ask for a better room.

This by far was our favorite location. So close to everything. Rooms are nice and clean, however we had a king that was pretty small. We had maybe 2/3 ft around the bed and that was it. We weren’t there for the room so it was fine. They also had no hand soap in the room and when we asked the cleaning service and they said they had none. So we washed our hands with the shower gel! Redic! There was also carpet missing between the room and bathroom door and I step my heel on a carpet tack. Called down to inform them to fix it. Staff was very nice, The Iron Rose was so convenient and good. Loved that we could stop down for a drink or snack anytime and the courtyard was wonderful. Nice coffee shop in the lobby as well. & it’s not starbucks! Love that! We will be back.

Nestled among the trees on Daniel Island, our new all-suite hotel is perfect for overnight trips and extended stays in Charleston. Volvo Stadium is home to major concerts and is just half a mile away. The Daniel Island Trail winds along the Wando River and is a great way to stretch your legs.

Hotel is in a quiet residential area. Has a Best Western hotel right beside it. Easy access to various locations in the area. Parking area was not too good and crowded. Front desk person was very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Shower water pressure was strong. There were no wash cloths, hand towels or soap in bathroom but the front desk provided when reported to them. Area was quiet. Breakfast was Continental with nothing added or fancy. Would stay there again.

We stayed for three days and it was almost perfect: 1. Good location, not far from major attractions; 2. Beautiful environment, adjacent to high-end community, surrounded by small lakes, convenient supermarkets and restaurants; The room is comfortable and clean; 4. Breakfast is very rich and the meal is fast; 5. All services are in place.
