The room was freezing cold on arrival and didn't really heat up very much at all using the radiator which was there, which I turned onto full as soon as I arrived. Cleanliness was average but the room was a 'little tired' and would benefit from new carpet and some re-touching of the paintwork etc. The bathroom was average but really needs some re-design as quite dated with some DIY looking fixings in places. The hot water took a long time to come through, which was frustrating as it meant a lot of wasted water to get it to come through warm. The meal was fine, but definitely nothing to write home about. Given the prices, it should have been better to reflect not only better value but other similar restaurants. VERY disappointing to be served a chilled bottle of red wine, which completely ruined a £30 bottle of wine. You definitely need 3 course as the portions were small. The dessert was the best part. We were served by 4 different staff at the same table none of home wore a uniform or even a logo on the t-shirt, so identifying who was staff when I needed assistance was difficult. Overall, it was fine, but there are much better options available. This could be a fabulous experience as the hotel is located in a nice location. Hopefully, this feedback will help the hotel improve and reach it potential.
