Porto Antico

This lovely hotel is on a pedestrian side street running parallel to the harbour 20m away. The location could not be better. The staff are so helpful. Breakfast is outside at the little cafe beside the front door... We went to bed with the window open and the street was lively, we closed to the window and were in silence... The staff are so friendly and helpful, we arrived on a very early flight and our room not surprisingly was not available 9AM. They took our luggage and said they would telephone as soon as the room was ready. They did a couple hours later and we arrived back to have the room ready, our bags in it along with a small bottle of sparkling wine...

This hotel was a perfect slice of Chania. Our room looked out on the harbor and the street below. I'll never forget the view. We had our two children (10 and 7) with us, and our room was nice and big enough for us all. (They put two twin beds in there along with our bed). The staff were very kind and warm. Free breakfast was such a great touch, and the waitress was wonderful. Location is very good--close (but not within view of) where you park; close to shops, bars, etc., but just enough up the street so as to feel fairly quiet. We stepped out our door and were right there to walk around the harbor. Definitely recommend this place highly. It was our best hotel in Crete. Chania is absolutely gorgeous and so much fun.

Even though it is not ”perfect”, I absolutely loved this hotel! It is a small boutique hotel ideally situated on Chania's old harbour. Rooms are full of charm and of good size, you are in the middle of the action, and views are fabulous. The nature of the hotel comes with its own challenges, and perhaps this is what I should start with: - if you travel with large luggage, beware that the hotel has no lift and stairs are quite steep, so if so, you may prefer to ask for a room on the 1st floor. Some rooms also have internal mezzanines. - Wifi is really hit and miss - As other reviewers mentioned, it can be hard to get hot water and the system is fragile so that one morning there was none at all and they had to call a technician to fix it - The area is pedestrian - about 10 minutes (leisurely) walk to the bus station and the nearest road so best for people who like walking. Having said that, none of this bothered me personally. I loved my room and its decor, I found the bed really comfortable (though pillows were really hard), I loved the location, and the staff were lovely. There is a roof terrace with a view to the harbour, a mini fridge in the room if you like to keep some food, and everything was clean and fresh. I'll definitely be back!
Domes Zeen Chania, a Luxury Collection Resort, Crete

This is a most amazing resort with excellent separate rooms like a condo, and each and every staff member we encountered over 6 night stay at lobby , concierge, shuttle drivers, waitresses etc were obsolutly amazing!, helpful and smiling in all regards. The food at dinner and breakfast had great variety daily. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we encountered. The guest room was spacious with a private pool area. We have travelled all over the world and stayed at Marriot's and Hiltons, but we had the best experience at this hotel. The ambience was peaceful and totally relaxing in this new resort. They served a delicious drink of 40 herbs when we checked in. It was delicious. We extended our stay by 2 nights as we were having such a great experience. The guest relations manager, Sophia, and all the staff were asking us how our stay was daily. personal attention is what we received. We were given a token of gift of crete upon checkout. Thank you so much Sophia and the team for making us truly welcome. We loved it so much we will return again. Thank you to all of the team members! Have a wonderful time off over the slow season.

The special aesthetic and arts that exist at every point of the hotel immediately and positively affected the image we created for it. The staff who welcomed us (a noble lady) gave us all the necessary information without considering anything as given, which strengthened the sense of security and warmth. The room was unique and almost nothing different from the images on the Internet and it was very spacious for 3 people. A hotel we will definitely prefer again and will unreservedly recommend to our friends.
