The king rooms are updated and cleaner than the old rooms, the only problem I have is the room I booked clearly showed a room with a hot tub but for $70 I should have known better but still don't false advertise, some people will see that an be very upset when they realize there's not a hot tub in here, the lamps, bed and room decor are excellent and the bathroom was also clean which is what everyone expects and wants and the lady up front wasn't even that rude to me this time lol seriously though Howard is in the top 6 or 7 hotels available in Salem I enjoy the views and a majority of the time the rooms I'm placed in!

The area is very quiet and people are respectful. I would recommend a stay to a friend or family. Rooms were clean as well. Breakfast is a plus and good.

Very run-down. Pictures in the website were deceiving, making it look much better than what it was. Trash and debris even in front of the door of the room. Room had a nasty smell. Didn't feel safe, decided to stay elsewhere even if it meant I would lose the money I paid for this place.

My check gave me exactly what I expected when I saw the room. The clerk wasn't friendly, nor interactive. The room was dated and half of the lights didn't work. The only reason it got 2 stars was because the bed was nice.

Paid for a king bed. Told none available for weeks; I got one 2 nights ago when I stayed here. Also told availability when making reservations via a third party like ******* you don’t know what you will get when you show up. I told the lady at the front desk with red hair it was bad for business to not give people what they pay for. She said they have plenty of business. I told her not mine anymore. No more hojo.

Really like the fact that everyday they clean the room, breakfasts they could improve a lot, it was the very same thing everyday, the last 3 days they were out of milk, but never bought it, overall is a good hotel, beautiful view, pricing is good

Hotel room was different from picture on their website. Hotel quests were noisy. Property around hotel was not very clean.

First room smelled like garbage, second room entry door handle was broken, third room was fair but paint chipped and peeling in bathroom, couldn’t adjust water pressure on shower head. Front desk person was not friendly

Do not stay here! It is a creepy place. The front desk person seemed clueless. The first room we were given was a mess. It looked like someone was living there. The second room was clean, but showed neglect. The hair dryer was missing and there were sloppy repairs to the walls. The breakfast was practically nonexistent.

Did not have my non smoking room available as per my reservation. Only smoking rooms and would not let me stay after admission of smoke allergy. Total scam and worst hotel experience ever… took the reservation but did not hold it

We booked 2 rooms- I have email confirmation. only 1 room is available to us! No attempt to rectify. Toilet leaks when flushed. Some lights don’t work. Cobwebs on ceiling- lots!!! Bathroom door doesn’t completely close. Entry door sticks, difficult to open. No tv guide. Broken furniture. I have never been as disappointed. We had planned to extend an additional night- no way now!!!! I believe we have been taken!!! I think a refund is in order.

It was not a great exp. The hotel overbooked so we had to pay an extra 45 dollars to check in early to make sure we got the hotel. Also, AC was not working well and overall just a bad exp.

I arrived at 2:10pm and the lobby was completely empty. I tried to check in and the clerk told me that check in was not until 3:00 and I could either wait or pay an extra $45 for "early check in". No one was working on cleaning any of the rooms by that point, and it was really pathetic customer service. Then, when I did check in, they tried to tell me that they had no rooms with 2 doubles available- only kings. Despite the fact I had reserved a room with 2 doubles and made my reservation months earlier. After arguing with them, they mysteriously found that there was a room with 2 doubles after all. I've stayed at this hotel multiple times for VT football games and never had a problem until this year. The current front desk staff really needs to either be replaced or sent to remedial customer service training.
