Villa Curina Resort

First time visit , excellent hotel , great helpful staff , very good breakfast every morning. Peaceful and quiet surroundings. Lovely pool and pool bar. Would recommend. The restaurant on site was also excellent . It is worth noting that taxi service is difficult and expensive do to the area - taxi service is dispatched from Siena .

What a lovely place! Great views out of every window. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We stayed for 6 nights. The place is very quiet and welcoming. We hung out by the pool for 2 days and enjoyed great and attentive service from Stefano at the bar. Martina, at the front desk provided us with lots of information about the area. She was very good and answered all of our questions. Our stay included breakfast. 7:30-10 am and it was a Buffet with a variety of pastries and juices, scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt etc. The Resort seemed to be popular with cyclists. We saw many arrive in the afternoons after cycling. The Restaurant on site is amazing and serves very fancy dishes. We only went there 2 nights as the food is fit for fine dining and not something our tummies could handle every night. The service at the restaurant was exceptional. The wine choices were extensive. The menu offers a good variety of fine choices. We really enjoyed every bite. We recommend the octopus, the Florentine steak for 2 and the chocolate mousse. Absolutely beautifully created and plated food. The Chef is a talent. Our only complaint would be that the Resort could have another dining option? But this Restaurant completely suits the Resort. They do offer snacks at the Bar which are delicious sandwiches and small margarita pizza. You could also drive into the towns nearby for a meal. Again, the views here are some of the best we’ve seen. It has been a dream holiday. Rooms are air conditioned. Lots of storage for your clothes and suitcases. Bathroom has a large shower , sink, toilet and bidet. I would suggest that they install a full length mirror in the room as it was hard to check out your entire outfit for the day.

The pool attendants were attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a relaxing day by the large, inviting pool. The breakfast staff also contributed to the positive experience with their friendly demeanor and the excellent spread they provided each morning. While the breakfast is generally enjoyable, it's worth noting that a second coffee at breakfast is charged separately. Although I understand the reasoning—there is a complimentary coffee pot available to avoid overindulgence—it still felt a bit stingy for a 4-star hotel, where such small luxuries are usually included. The on-site restaurant offers delicious food, and while there is a policy requiring a minimum of two dishes per person, it didn't significantly detract from the overall dining experience, which was otherwise enjoyable. It’s also worth mentioning that Curina Resort is not the place for those seeking modern amenities or sleek, contemporary design. Its charm lies in its traditional style and historic atmosphere, making it ideal for those who appreciate an old-world feel. Overall, Curina Resort is a delightful choice for those seeking a tranquil escape with a touch of old-world charm, supported by a team of genuinely caring staff. The stunning views and serene environment make it a perfect Tuscan retreat.

Very bad experience at the restaurant, where the personnel tried to forced us to consume more than we want. They also ask for more money if you want to serve a second coffee at breakfast. Their attitude towards the clients can also be improved.

The food business model is very aggresive. We were a group of 10 people and made a reservation to eat there as well. They expect you to eat at least 2 dishes per person (dessert is not included), otherwise you are not getting any food. Since not all of us were that hungry or some of us wanted to share, we decided to go to another place, in the city, which is 5 km away. A good place is hard to find since everybody is eating at that time. In the morning, if you want a second hot drink at your breakfast, such as cappuccino, you have to pay for it which is absurd for the ton of money you pay for accomodation.The disconfort for all of us was very big. We expected a lot more typical italian hospitality and less sales management.

Beautiful resort. Friendly, helpful staff, especially the guy who runs the pool bar (so sorry forgotten his name) he couldn’t do enough for us & always so happy & smiley, Excellent location to reach Florence & Siena & not too far a drive from Pisa. Gorgeous pool, wonderful scenery. Restaurant good, service excellent. Menu could maybe be a little more extensive, we dined there for 3 consecutive nights & found choices slightly limited by the 3rd. Breakfast delicious. Plenty of choice. It was a bit annoying when scrambled eggs & chopped fruit were not replenished each morning though. Such an easy problem to solve. Would definitely recommend as a base for exploring Tuscany & wonderful to arrive back to such a stunningly tranquil place after a busy day sightseeing.
