Santuario Getsemani Hostel

I've been @ Santuario much longer than planned due to some health issue. So, I had the time to highly appreciate not only the hostel itself, the great vibe and atmosphere, the fantastic beds setup where you have plenty of space (!) plus an unusual total privacy, like you have a mini room inside a room, but especially the people: staff is great and really cares the guest, while sick I had a family like surveillance, especially Stefy "la chica del bar", Kathy (cleaning & kitchen) and Jose (maintenance) never missed supporting me and asking genuinely interested how I was feeling doing their best to help. In a difficult moment, I was in the right place, thanks them! One only thing disturbing me was, the aircon management: ok it was on only evening and night, quite usual, problem was a person feeling cold was enough to shut down the aircon for everyone... and it was hot then... i love freezing, ok, but a correct balance would be the best, suggesting who's cold to wear a t-shirt should work, and others won't sweat ;-)

Nice hostel in Getsemaní área, arrived after 11 pm and was pleasantly surprised, that reception was opened and I was able to do check in. Breakfast is included, had fruit bowl and toasts with butter/jam, if you want to add eggs you have to pay 10000 COP for it. Coffee/tea is self served and you can order juice for extra payment. Sleeping area is big, air conditioning is working over night, you have to bring your own lock. There is a space to put luggage under the bed, what was a bit dusty and dirty and a small shelf near the bed. Hostel offers some activities, but I wasn't able to check them out. Overall good experience

Small hostel, very good and well equipped kitchen, terrific location (in a good way), large and comfortable double bed with plenty of space around, helpful staff, a spa is always a good addition. Cons : a part of the common area doesn't t have a roof, so it became problematic when it was raining; it was not possible to control the AC and it was uncomfortably cold at night (to the point that I had to use my winter coat as an extra blanket); the place was infested by mosquitoes, especially after dark; the bathroom in the dorm where I was sleeping broke on the third day of my stay, so I had to use the one in the common room and it was rather unpleasant especially at night. Overall, I had mixed feeling about the Santuario Getsemaní Hostel, which explains my ratings. I have to admit that the ratio quality/price is pretty good, I guess I was not lucky with the weather and the bathroom. I enjoyed my stay, but one week was enough for me.

BEST HOSTEL EVER! I highly recommend doing the day trip to their Tierra Bomba location as well it is beautiful. They had a free salsa class while I was staying there and the teacher is super fun. They also had a pub crawl where we met people from other hostels. This is right in Getsemani and is a 10 minute walk away from San Felipe castle. Great location, great price, and great people. Also they have a cat named Orion! As for the rooms, each bed was like a compartment and had a shade for privacy. There were private bathrooms in the rooms as well as shared ones. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Our breakfast was included--it was fruit and toast which filled me up. There are also paid options but the included breakfast was enough for me personally. They do have wifi and it's fast. There is also a social area and coworking space. Honestly, I wish I spent more time in this city and at this hostel. The staff members are so nice and will go out of their way to make sure you have a comfortable stay. They'll even recommend activities and restaurants. This hostel is great for both introverts and extroverts. There are people willing to socialize there or if you would rather have privacy, that is possible there. THANK YOU SANTUARIO!!!

Dont let the pictures fool you. I have used Hostels before, but this is definitely not it .Place is a filthy dump! Smelling of dirty laundry and moldy! The bunk that was offered the roller shade for privacy was broken, and the guy was actually trying to teach me how to use it. The nerve! I immediately checked out and found somewhere else to stay.

Santuario is a very nice and clean hostel located close to San Felipe castle and Getsemani. Friendly staffing, free breakfast… we had salsa dance classes! My friend Lupita and I had a good time in this place I hope you can give a chance and come! Thank you so much!!!
