Our 5th time using this hotel as our base when we recently visited South Cornwall, our favourite part of the country. We like to join two of their 'deals' together, great value. Although there were several new faces, the whole team made us feel very welcome, with the standard of service again at a very high level. The room upgrade was well received. Already planning to come back in the Fall!!

We stayed in one of the residences and had a hot tub and a ‘treehouse’ style apar**ent. It was just beautiful, such a hidden gem and the perfect staycation. We loved the decking, the interiors were beautiful and overall had an amazing stay. We’d love to come back!

After looking at the website I could see lovely boutique rooms and a lovely manner house for the communal areas etc. Clearly there are some higher cost rooms vs some lower cost rooms. I was booked into my room by my company for a one night stay. When I saw the website I was happy and looking forward to my stay. When pulled up I was impressed a lovely building and very nice lobby. I was given my room key and it all went down hill farther rapidly from there. My room was truly awful. A tiny little single bedded dark dank room. It was absolutely filthy dust, cobwebs, hair all over the bathroom, dead squashed spiders in the walls, filthy carpet, old depressed furniture outdated decor and a broken window overlooked by a tennis club car park so no privacy. I was taken aback. After spending 30 seconds in the room I went to see reception. The gentleman almost knew what I was talking about and went to fetch a cloth. He said he would clean the room. I was shocked as the room clearly needed a thorough deep clean. After returning to the room I decided I had to leave and could not stay there. The rooms down by the pool area don’t appear to have been photographed for the website and for good reason. Honestly it was the most grim hotel room I have ever seen. A premier inn would have seemed like the Ritz compared to this. I promptly left and got a room at the nearby Sandy Duck which was cheaper and an absolute world away. Modern clean rooms with a sea view and a real boutique feel. I would never ever go back to this place

First the good...The staff are very helpful, polite and welcoming, the room was very nice, the lounge and gardens were good places to be and well kept. Now the not so good...paying a £50 upfront cost for nothing on arrival and not paid back until "a few days later" no tea or coffee in rooms (to save money) TV only worked on a couple of channels (cheap internet) the beer was super expensive, 40% more than all the pubs and restaurants in the town, £7 a pint of "cheap" lager! The pool was ok but the jacuzzi...my farts produce more bubbles! The breakfast was the meanest I have ever experienced from any hotel I have stayed at (again to save money) because of that I cancelled our evening meal and we ate out, and to top it all, the room next to us decided to have a party at 2.45am until 4 in the morning, not the hotels fault but certainly didnt help. We dont mind paying a premium price for a premium service or quality but, it was clear to us that this hotel charges top dollar but short changes on what they supply, I would say, stingy. Dont let this review put you off the hotel, it is very nice and Falmouth is a great place to visit, but maybe the owners/management should think about not penny pinching and perhaps being 10% more than down town and then maybe people would stay in for the evening too.

A great stay away at Merchants Manor, a great hotel nestled just away from the bustle of Falmouth. The team took great care of a solo traveller, in particular Ben & Ellen who were experts in their depar**ents! Rastella restaurant well worth a visit for fine dining from local produce.

This hotel was fantastic and we enjoyed the vast majority of it while we were staying in Falmouth. The food was fantastic and the room was perfect for a good night sleep amd all staff were helpful and polite. The only downfall being the Liverpudlian barman who became far too familiar too fast which we found very off putting and the fact he offered us class A ***** was absolutely disgusting, I'm guessing it's because we were a younger couple but we've told plenty of business friends who stay in Falmouth to avoid this wonderful hotel because of this particular incident. Hopefully it was a one off and doesn't happen regularly!!

Spent a really enjoyable few days at this hotel which is conveniently situated for town and beaches. From arrival the young staff were so very friendly and efficient giving a happy a**osphere throughout. The lady with a connection to Mexico was exceptionally helpful. The accommodation provided was of a high standard and the restaurant food at dinner and breakfast was excellent.

This was my second trip to the hotel for a family occasion and it didn't disappoint. I had a lovely single room with a view of the sea and everything was so clean and comfortable. I made the most of the swimming pool and steam room. It was warm and clean and with the sun shining in I felt I was in a Mediterranean country. The staff as always were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to look after me and my family who were also staying. The only downside was the visit went too quickly. I'm already looking forward to coming back for my next stay. Thanks team !

Sunday stay with friends for a joint birthday. From check in where the staff were polite helpful. No self check in as per previous reviews. Rooms and facilities very good. Lovely personal touch for the birthday girls. The dining experience was fantastic. The good was amazing, but the service was again excellent. Thanks Merchants! We will be back
