Boutique Hotel Olom - Only Adults Recommended

Unbeatable location, wonderful breakfast, comfortable bed, extremely helpful staff, good room amenities and a lovely roof top bar with gorgeous views. The bad was that the room was very hot with no way to cool it down. Themostat was set to 16 degrees and still so hot as they are in the heating season. There was no fan in the room and non available to borrow. We pinned the window wide open and opened the door periodically to bring some of the colder air from the hallway and expel the heat through the window. We brought to management attention so they can try to make it better for future guests. Interesting black bathroom theme which isn’t for us but that is simply a personal preference.

It was difficult to find. We arrived at the train station However online there was no location on Maps. We went all over the place, seeking the previous name ‘Hotel Catedral’. This omission needs attention. When we eventually found it, the hotel was unimpressed with our problem. However, it’s a wonderful location. The restaurant is good. We dined on their patio, part of the restaurant. Breakfast in the same room good with serene waiter, nice. Menus a bit overproduced. We weren’t quite taken by the hi-tech controls in the room, though it was fine (two ‘balcony’ windows looking onto the cathedral 🤗). Call us old-fashioned 😊 There is a fabulous rooftop bar open to the public with pool above, only for residents

We very much enjoyed our short visit to this hotel. The location is second to none, directly opposite the cathedral and a three minute walk from public parking. There is a great a**osphere outside the hotel with cafes and bars. We had a very nice, quiet room on the third floor, all floors served by a lift. Fixtures and fittings in the room all of a very high modern standard and included easy to use remote control for lights, blinds and curtains, a coffee maker, a record player, iron, hair dryer, bathroom scales. Wonderful rain shower. However, what made our visit truly memorable was the attention given to us by Amada, one of the receptionists. She told us where to go, what to see, where to see the sunset and where to eat. All wonderful recommendations, within easy walking distance and given with a smile. Thank you Amada.

well what can I say, it was just perfect The staff were lovely, polite, helpful, friendly We had the suite which was on the first floor, 2 balconies looking onto the cathedral but excellant double glazing meant that it was not noisy when the windows were closed There was a coffee machine in the room and fresh drinking water each day The curtains, lights and aircon were controlled via a wall panel which was very easy to use The bathroom was dark tiles but the shower was fabulous and lovely smellies provided, plus dressing gowns and slippers There was a record player with an eclectic choice of LPs in the bar to borrow The roof top pool was incredible, not big or deep but warm and what a view. There was a terrace bar with fabulous views to the cathedral We had breakfast one day in the hotel, 15.00 Euros per person and it was really lovely That's it really, I can't praise this hotel highly enough

If I am being honest we had planned to go to Jerez but thank goodness we didn’t. The Olom was a great find in Cádiz directly opposite the cathedral. A newly opened hotel, they are doing a fantastic job, from check in, to room, to ambience, to design. Two points of special note 1] the rooftop bar was wonderful with lovely staff 2] the hotel is dog friendly with a little doggie biscuit on arrival to bed and bowls in the room. Thank you …. We want to come back

Better than expected. Cool, friendly a**osphere. Very helpful staff. The room was great - aircondition, lights and curtains were managed by the same Remote Control. we enjoyed the rekord player in the room 😊 the hotel was placed right in the historie centre and therefore close to everything. The rooftop with small pool looket so Nice, but was closed due to bad weather. Breakfast was High quality. Would gladly come back.

This hotel has some very good points - an excellent location, terrific view of the cathedral directly opposite, pleasant staff, and a rooftop pool. Also a facility to connect music on one’s phone by Bluetooth to good overhead speakers in the bedroom. We did not use the restaurant so cannot comment on that. However, be very wary of booking this place if your main criterion is not that the hotel be ‘cool’. The decor of the common parts - reception, stairs, corridors- is almost unremittingly black,- black walls, grey-flecked black marble stairs, black ceilings - with a couple of floor-length scarlet curtains screening off some areas at floor level and a gold-toned artwork hanging on one wall of each of the three floors. The shower rooms within the bedrooms are also predominantly black , apart from the toilet, the mirror, taps and towels. We found this very depressing and claustrophobic. The bedroom was also very disappointing. Although we had booked a ‘junior suite’ it was one of the smallest hotel rooms we have ever stayed in - excluding the shower room , it was c. 3metres by c.4metres. There was no wardrobe, just some open shelving on one wall. One has to use an electronic control pad to operate lights, curtains, aircon and the aforementioned Bluetooth . Finally, there was an unpleasant smell in the room which we suspect came from the air con. When we reported this, a very pleasant member of staff came to our room, agreed that not only did the room smell unpleasant but so did the corridor outside, and said she would try to get it sorted out. Unfortunately the smell persisted. The rooftop pool was also tiny -about the same dimensions as the bedroom and only 1 metre deep- and there were only 3 loungers to be shared by all guests. While the view of the cathedral from the rooftop is admittedly fantastic, there is an almost constant racket of heavily-amplified guitar music from buskers in the square below. In sum, if you’re looking for somewhere hip and cool, this may be the perfect place for you, but if this is not your priority, stay away!

We checked in for just one night and had a wonderful time. Absolutely loved the musical theme of the room. Ours was Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, and it was so much fun to experience and play the music. Also loved our time at the terrace. A few suggestions - as I know, the hotel is new - the opening hours of the pool should be till 9 PM or till sunset to enjoy the sunset and the evening and not miss out on it like we did since we were on the beach and checked in and it was already closed at 8pm. Quite bummed. Also, the pillows are foam and not great and should be changed for some thing more comfortable like down, same for duvet - with 14 rooms should be an easy fix. As an ex hotelier sleeping well is extremely important, and that would be one thing that might us considering not staying again. The staff was wonderful, and we had the best time at the terrace. The bartender was so kind. The view over the cathedral is stunning.

This place is one of the worst i have ever stayed in. Overpriced with small rooms, dirty pillows and towels, very silly technology and disrespectful staff. Our room was as well on the 4th floor where the bar stays open until 2 am and is very loud.
