Premier Inn Buxton

I stay away from home on business around 2 days every week and use Premier Inns regularly so I’m quite used to what they offer. Usually decent value for money and a comfortable bed. Nothing different on this occasion. However, on this visit, I feel rather let down by the staff who seemed to have a lackadaisical attitude. Arrived around 6pm. Table for dinner at 8pm please. No problem. Arrived at 8pm. Lots of empty tables but “too busy to fit me in”. It’s an in house restaurant so wasn’t expecting anything great. Still disappointing though. The one positive is that having to search for somewhere else locally I found the Taj Mahal who were quite busy but fitted me in with no fuss. So, avoid this Premier Inn and if you’re in Buxton try the Taj Mahal.

We picked Premier inn at Buxton as we had stayed 2 years previously. It is a good base to explore the area. We upgraded the room this time but it was not worth the extra. We will choose the standard room in future. The staff made our stay very enjoyable with a special mention to Victoria and Molly our servers at mealtime, both these lovely young ladies are a credit to Premier Inn.

Noisy room with ventilation constantly turning on and off every 30 seconds all night. Kept us awake. Staff had to change our room for the 2nd night because they could not stop the noise after trying to switch electric off to all the fans to the ducting. This stay was for a Spa Day relaxing treat at a local hotel but relaxation overshadowed by no sleep on the first night. Staff great and very friendly. Food also good. Fencing panels missing from car park so used as a short cut by school kids and locals.

We stayed for a few days our group had 3 rooms. Clean, well maintained and exactly as advertised. Overall very happy. Fantastic that there was plentiful free parking next to the hotel a missive positive point for us. The breakfast deal was good value and food / service perfect. Spot on full English! The evening meals needed pre-booking. If you forget / do nt want to it’s a very short walk to town with lots of options.

Fantastic Premier Inn. I use it for work and pleasure and have never had a bad nights sleep. Food is very good and the staff are very helpful. Within walking distance of the centre of Buxton, which has many restaurants to cater for all tastes. The Buxton Opera House often has things to see, so check before you go.

All staff we met were friendly and very helpful. Along with a hotel that was clean and modern it made an excellent place to stay. Car parking was free with plenty of space. The hotel was within easy walking distance of the town centre. We recommend the hotel.

Spotlessly clean, big well appointed bedrooms with complimentary Tea and Coffee. I've knocked off 2 stars for 2 valid reasons, as follows 1. The Air Con......seriously....sounds like take off on Runway 3 at Manchester Airport!! and why don't the windows open!! 2. The breakfast was less than warm and not well cooked, for example the sausages were under cooked, *****ey brown down two edges and anemic elsewhere (a personal annoyance of mine) Scrambled egg done with far too much milk making it bland and tasteless. The greasiest black pudding I've ever eaten! FAIR's FAIR - we paid £75 for for a double room including breaky ... what's not to like, I know I shouldn't moan but I'm telling it how it is. Would I go back - yes at that price. Staff were pleasant.

The room was a bit smelly and the air con did not work. Room was quite hot. Breakfast was cold on both days. Eggs overcooked and bacon was solid. On the second day the restaurant had no milk. With Tesco express located right next door i would think that someone could just puck some up

Whilst the accommodation was as expected I was disappointed by the restaurant which unlike most other premier inn was in the hotel itself and only open at meal times. There was no bar as such, though there were fridges stocked with bottles of beer.
