Rodeway Inn & Suites Brunswick Near Hwy 1

Brunswick|0.75km from Walmart Supercenter
This is a roadside motel, and looks fairly old, but it is kept up reasonably well. The room was small, just big enough for two double beds, and a nightstand between them, so the people on the other side of both beds would not have good light for reading. The beds were fairly comfortable. The shower/toilet part of the bathroom was small, but the shower had a nice big showerhead with good spray and plenty warm. The bathroom had basic toiletries and a sink out in the main room. So not very quiet and hard to keep dark if people in the bedroom are sleeping. There even was an ironing board, but no iron. The bedroom had a desk, comfortable desk chair, but no other seating. There was a combination chest of drawers/ cabinet with a large mini-fridge, with a small microwave and a small flatscreen TV on top. Wifi worked fine. The wall AC is in the sink area of the bathroom, so even though it's a bit loud, it is not in the bedroom. It was off when we arrived, but cooled down a very warm room in less than an hour, and kept us comfortable all night. There is a small continental breakfast with make your own waffles, bagels, English muffins, cereal, juice, fruit, coffee, etc. Not bad. There was seating for 10 people, plus a table for six on the deck. Service was friendly and prompt. An Indian family is running the motel. They seem to take some pride in running a decent place, not just milking it for money. The price was fair, all things considered, especially for mid-coast Maine during a summer of COVID. But book ahead. Everything fills up and then prices go through the roof.

Days Inn by Wyndham Brunswick Bath Area

Place was clean, staff pleasant, everything worked. $400 for two nights in a double was reasonable compared to most other hotels in area. Cook's Corner not the most scenic but quite convenient to Brunswick and Bath, also shopping if I'd needed to do any.

Nice hotel, right off Rt. 1. Hotel looks small from the road, but has a large extension behind it. Check in was quick and easy. The receptionist was very nice and helpful. Lobby area was nice, with open staircase and fireplace. Breakfast bar is opposite the check in desk. We had a ground floor room with two double beds. The beds were comfortable and I slept well. Room was quite. Also in the room were a large screen TV, refrigerator, microwave, desk, and upholstered chair, with foot rest. The bathroom was only large enough for one person at a time. Shower/tub combo. There was a working (and quiet) exhaust fan. Hot water was adequate. The shower control knob was very finicky to adjust, small adjustment resulted in huge temperature swings. The shower head has more than one setting. There was also a area right outside the bathroom with a mirror and counter, so two people could get ready at the same time. The breakfast bar was decent: premade egg/cheese omelette, sausage links, make your own waffle stand, variety of breads & bagels, yogurts, boiled eggs, fruit, breakfast cereals/oatmeal packets, juices, and coffee. The dining area was busy, but there always seemed to be a seat available. The attendant was busy cleaning and refreshing supplies. We were here only one night and enjoyed our stay. We will likely stay here again.

Doing the swing through Maine to visit schools and spent one night here (near Bowdoin). Location is near the highway, a bit outside of the town, which was fine. We had booked what was advertised as a one bedroom suite, but realistically it was more of a junior suite. The living room and bedroom only had a half wall between them, they could not be closed off separately. The living area was extremely tight also, if you had opened up the sleeper sofa I'm not sure you would have been able to walk by it. The room though was clean, the beds were comfortable and it overall had a ”nicer” feel to it. Breakfast was included, although it ended fairly early at 9:00. While there was plenty of food, it was all pre packaged, warmed up in the microwave options. I understand that with the pandemic many hotels eliminated their buffets and fresh cooked foods, but at this point it is starting to feel like they are simply appreciating that it is cheaper to just nuke a bunch of breakfast burritos vs having fresh options. Overall, the hotel was on the very good side, but I wouldn't say great. I appreciated that it was comfortable, convenient, and well appointed and potentially would stay there again if I was in the area.

The old hotel is estimated to be a very small and comfortable hotel. The lobby, facade and room layout are all light and luxurious, but the bathroom is like forgetting to decorate, it is completely inconsistent with the room style, a bit off the chain.
