Travelodge Okehampton Whiddon down

Excellent staff. Very noisy in hotel can hear people above, doors banging, tv not working, terrible bed.

Amazing hotel and staff all round. So friendly the hotel was perfectly clean inside and out no noise whatsoever the staff went above and beyond.

Overall good stay over as Friday and Saturday evening on the first floor in a fairly quiet clean Hotel with a Hedge and Hog breakfast / restaurant available next to it.

Absolutely awful. Could hear everything from other people’s room. Bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. Room was so hot due to the heating being as high as possible. Probably slept an hour all night. Customer service staff not helpful.

it was very good value, plenty of parking. Staff were very friendly and there was someone there to greet us on arrival. Restaurant on site with petrol station and shop. Very convenient to visit Dartmoor and other places of interest. Would recommend

First of all on our arrival to Okehampton Whiddon Down Travelodge the reception staff were very nice we were greeted by a very old and outdated looking building but that was okay as it was only for two nights we went into our room and it was very very outdated there was hairs on the bed and pillow and it just didn’t really look like it got a deep clean Also the bathroom tiles were absolutely cracked to high heaven and there was loads of mould on the bathroom. It just looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. The floor was absolutely spotless but the towels they smell really really off. Just had an outdated feel with light not working and the lampshades peeling apart also the paint work And the work was all jagged. Some of the good things is that the carpet looks very new and there was a nice smell in the room but obviously that could’ve been covered up with Spray there is a nice pub down the road and it is located by a Greggs and Morrisons that is quite convenient

Good clean basic accomodation with helpful staff. The only downside was the internet booking system which randomly swapped dates! so we had to pay twice! Guess I should have double checked, but shouldn't have to.

I wasn’t sure what to expect as it’s a budget hotel but I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t that busy when I visited so there was ample parking (although I spotted a lot of people stopping to go to the bathroom or empty potties in the hedges outside). The room was clean and there was tea and coffee and shower gel. The bedding looked fresh and it was fairly quiet at night. There was some mould on the bathroom ceiling which let it down but the area around the bath and taps was clean. The reception were friendly. If I visited the area again I would choose this Travelodge over the one at Sourton Cross. The nearby Hog and Hedge cafe served a nice breakfast, although it closed a little early so I couldn’t visit for dinner.

Really friendly staff and a brilliant little pub only 200 yards down the road for a few drinks before be time No idea about the cafe next door as went elsewhere Rooms are basic but serviceable The car park is huge and has plenty of room There you go - top notch
