The hotel was beautiful, pool warm and staff lovely. Restaurant wasn’t up to standard but cocktails really yum.

Hi , just wanted to say had a delicious set lunch yesterday, for me the star was the excellent pannacotta - Thankyou for sharing recipe. I will be back when the main menu changes which we were told it shall be soon. Thanks again for a good lunch - thank fully have now found somewhere in Bournemouth worth coming to and can recommend.

Spent four nights at this hotel and wish we hadn’t. They give a whole new meaning to the word “cosy”. The room was so small it was ridiculous and not fit for purpose. After asking to pay to upgrade, they did move us to a slightly bigger room without additional charge, this was the only positive of the stay. The service in the bar and restaurant is terribly slow. Drinks are very very expensive. Breakfast is grossly over priced and the food was tepid at best, the bacon needed more cooking and the scrambled eggs were floating in liquid, once was enough for us . The hotel is very modern and the location is excellent, it’s the staff, awful breakfast and the high prices that let it down. Check your bills if you stay here, we received a bill for someone else’s lunch when we were supposed to be paying for two drinks. I do not recommend this hotel and will definitely not return.

We decided on a spur of a moment to book a table for four for Sunday Lunch. When we arrived we were greeted and then given a choice of tables to sit at, which was nice. As we were waiting for one party member to arrive (trying to park the car), we were seated and given the option of Still, Sparkling or tap water and also all the menus including drinks menu. We ordered tap water, then waited for our final member of our party to arrive which took approx 10 mins. We all sat perusing the drinks and food menus still no tap water had arrived. Eventually after 20 mins of us being seated a waiter took our order and also went to fetch the water. Another 15 minutes later the wine etc that we ordered turned up. So 35 minutes after we had been seated. Two of us had ordered starters which arrived reasonably promptly and we ate, the plates were cleared and then we waited for the main course which took a long time to arrive - another 15/20 mins after the starters were collected. I have to say the food was all outstanding, all of our group were in agreement with this. Once we had finished mains we had to wait even longer to get the dessert menu, then we had to wait another 20 mins to order (once we had got the attention of our waiter). I can’t criticise our waiter he was extremely busy looking after a number of tables and some of them quite large, I would argue that he should have had more help as there are plenty of other staff milling about that could assist. If this hotel wasn’t purporting to be 5 star I would not highlight the above, and it is therefore I have. Another slight concerning matter is the state of the tables, they have rings on the where the table has been burnt by something hot- surely a five star hotel should not have this issue, also the floor around our table was filthy- in a five star hotel cleaning should been completed on the floor around every dining table after each service. See pics attached. So would I go back again?- yes i would , but if we receive the same service as we have today a second time there would be no third chance- no matter how lovely the food is.

We stayed at The Nici for 2 nights recently. We chose the hotel after reading an amazing review in the travel section of the Daily Mail. The hotel, its interior and grounds are all fabulous! A Cuban theme for the interior decor and some amazing furniture and prints. The standard double we were upgraded to, was lovely. Comfy bed, huge bathroom and Nepresso machine. The pool and grounds make you feel like you’re in the Mediterranean, especially if you are lucky enough to get good weather, as we did. Plenty of chairs and sun loungers around the pool area, a bar open from midday, with the sea as a backdrop. Few gripes, there was building work going on around the pool area when we were there. We were informed a few days before. The noise and scaffolding, did ruin the ambience and ability to relax fully. I think it may have been a nice gesture if the management had offered free parking at least (it’s £27 per day!) or at least a complimentary drink, as a goodwill gesture. It’s not a cheap break! The valet parking at £27 a day, should feature a charging facility for electric vehicles as standard. The staff are dressed very smartly (yacht deck vibe) and are all really friendly. It wasn’t busy when we visited, but the service for drinks and food was always slow. Not a problem of us, as we were relaxing and not pushed for time. I do wonder how they might cope during busier periods. The breakfast was ok, no more than that and over priced at £22 a head! We were quite annoyed to hear someone being told they could order eggs cooked in a variety of ways, we hadn’t been offered or told that.

Just visited this over-hyped hotel and restaurant as part of a birthday celebration. As our party was 10 in total we had to pre order our menu , which we did in ample time . Upon arrival the staff knew nothing about pre ordered food ! Our group then waited and waited to be asked initially for any drinks orders , upon which we asked for water jugs as well. It took an unbelievable time for drinks of any form to arrive at our table ! Bearing in mind that our menu was 'pre ordered' it was very nearly an hour before any of said pre ordered starters eventually arrived at our table . It then took another age until the mains were presented post starters . There are a host of other issues that I've not addressed especially regarding a friend who is gluten intolerant and was served chips that did not comply !! even though your staff were informed . Your staff in general were less than helpful and in the worst degree quite rude . I'm a local resident and will tell all of my friends to avoid your pretentious, over priced establishment.

Really fabulous hotel, beautiful decor, friendly staff, would recommend. Location is brilliant, lots of lovely restaurants nearby, would highly recommend Nala across the road too for a Turkish feast! Very pleased with our stay - free drink if you skip the room clean on your two night stay is a great touch, all hotels should do this!

This hotel is absolutely stunning . The rooms were beautiful and the hotel was so clean . The bar and restaurant which iv been to on many occasions never fails to impress. The staff were amazing , the receptionist which looked after us was very professional .
