Hotel Ambasada

We were so happy to find lodging in Boleslawiec, Poland, at the last minute and hadn't read anything about Villa Ambasada. Imagine our surprise when we found ourselves in one of the nicest hotels that we've stayed in during our time in Europe (6 months). While the section of town leaves something to be desired, the accommodations were very clean in what appears to be a newly refurbished home. We parked our car in the secure parking out back, I think that would be necessary. We stayed in the four person room for our family (2 adults and two young children) and had plenty of space as well as a bathroom in our room. There was a flat-screened TV (Polish channels only, but that's half the fun!) as well as a table and four beds. There is a bar/restaurant in the basement of the home which is decorated beautifully--I think the owner is a former actor and has a very keen eye for artwork. We ate dinner in the restaurant and couldn't have been happier--my husband had a traditional Polish meal, I had a cheese/salad plate and the children shared spaghetti. Our dinner was fantastic, the service superb and the atmosphere totally welcoming. At dinner, our waitress asked what time we'd like our breakfast in the morning. Breakfast... ahhhh breakfast! It was an unbelievable assortment of breads, meats, cheeses, mueslix, fruit, you name it! Truly a delight for the eyes as well as for the stomach. All was served on Boleslawiec Polish pottery (from Manufaktura) which just added to the ambience. We were so taken with this hotel that we wanted to write about it immediately. While the owner and staff speak broken English only, I believe they are all fluent in French and Polish. Even with our small language barrier, we were able to communicate easily. Our total bill including dinner (with drinks and desserts) was 395 zloty--about $150--unbelievable. Considering the area of town which Villa Ambasada was located, we truly considered it to be a "diamond in the rough."

Hotel Ambasada is a luxury Boutique Hotel, in my opinion this a unique place. Not only it offers all the comfort of a 4 star Hotel but the Hotel is very special in its beauty. I recommend this place as number 1 to stay. Breakfast was delicious buffert, parking and internet is free. Reception in open 24h. The Hotel is walking distance to the city square centre

Very nice hotel near the market square, a room with a comfortable bed and a small library with books! Parking for guests available on site, restaurant and bar in the basement and additional tables outside, tasty breakfast. To sum up, everything would be ok, if not for the fact that on Saturday evenings the hotel organizes dance parties (we arrived at the hotel on Saturday), which last from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.! We were informed about this during check-in. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we could still hear the music (there were earplugs in the room, but they didn't help much). If someone is going on a weekend - especially in the summer months - it's better to ask about it.

Small boutique hotel. But great hotel and location in Boleslawiec. Good staff and the restaurant downstairs was fantastic. The downside is there is not a lot of room for parking. But there is plenty of parking along the street. The staff made me feel welcomed.
