Wow! They had it all! We travelled with 4 families 8 kids, 8 adults and had the best time. The hotel had s’mores kits for the kids, kayaks and inflatable rafts and an entire courtyard with checkers, ax throwing and connect four. The rooms were beautiful and the products were fabulous. We all stayed at the grove and loved it. The restaurant was really good & enjoyed the patio. We will definitely be back!

First time here. The website pictures are quite misleading — at least for our room which is a two bedroom Grove cottage. The room is awkwardly designed and feel like a mobile home. Worse, it’s removed across a busy road from the main hotel grounds and river thus giving it a very different feel than staying by the river. Lastly, the road noise is horrendous, and these cottages were built quite cheap as there’s limited insulation from the road. Our cottage is about 15 feet from the road. The chairs on our private deck overlook the service entry driveway and main power panels. Far far from advertised and highly suggest they change their pictures a d website to convey reality. Check in and service in general is weak and there’s not much hospitality training. For these prices, the hotel should have trained professionals vs students who don’t care and aren’t trained properly working the summer. Overall, quite disappointing as they are charging 600-1000 for this room per night depending on weekday/weekend and season.

Dawn Ranch is phenomenal--the location, the staff, the accommodations. The nearby hikes, the saltwater pool across the street, multiple access points to the river, bike riding - this place has it all, 10 out of 10!

Dawn Ranch has something for everyone. This was my second visit, and I was able to take in all the experiences on property such as tubbing, bird watching classes, meditation and yoga. The Armstrong Redwood Reserve is a 10 minute bike ride away where I hike serveral different trails. Dawn Ranch is a special place and cannot wait to go back for a third stay.

We stayed during the week/ the website never said the restaurant would be closed both nights (a big reason we chose this spot), there were NO activities available the days we stayed (and no alternatives offered), very poor WiFi, lots of bugs, and even the cafe closed early. NOT worth the very high price point!

We stayed in one of the Cottages of the Dawn Ranch in May 2024. It was our first time in Guerneville and we decided to stay at the Dawn Ranch, after seeing the pictures and reading the reviews. Since we had booked a Cottage with King bed, there was ample space for a family of 3 (including a 4 yr old). The room was nice and clean and they had provided complementary water, tea and coffee. it was also good that there was no TV in the room, which gave us more time as a family to sit and talk and enjoy. The location of the ranch is also perfect, with the Johnson Beach very close by. In the evening, the guest services provided us smores, which my son really loved. Couple of areas which can be improved:- 1. The pool was not very clean, with some insects floating in the water. Also, they say that the water temperature is maintained, however the water seemed cold to me. Also the surface of the pool has some worn out yellow patches, which overall gave the impression that the pool is not well maintained. 2. Some of the cottages (the one which we stayed at) are not on the main property and there is no guest services at the Grove, so for smores of other things, you have to walk down (short walk - across the road) to the main property. Also, the main property is more fun than the Grove.

Your check in person was not friendly or helpful. When we asked about the town and the ice cream place a friend had recommended she said it so quickly we really did not know where it was but later I saw another guest with a map of the town so it would have been nice for her to give us a map and show us the location of the ice cream place.

I went solo to celebrate my birthday and selected a smaller cabin. It was really tight. The grounds are amazing and I enjoyed the spa. It would be worth it to ensure you get accommodations well away from Hwy 116 and get one of the larger units. It would be worth it! Also, the restaurant is closed during the week, so I had to travel to get lunch and dinner. Be aware before you book!
