Dirty, smelly uncomfortable ,cheap greasy slow breakfast possible the worst B and b in Wales or anywhere .Some reviews like their Chinese restaurant, do not confuse this with the truely dreadful guest house operation. The next night we had a wonderful Betsy’s coed B and b

Firstly I want to say that the Mrs and I have stayed in quite a few places over the years but this is the first time I have written a review but felt that we needed to this time I'll start with the positives, location is great, view from the room lovely and the bed was really comfy. Now unfortunately for the negatives, from the outside its clear the hotel has seen better days, it just looked tired and unloved. So upon entering the hotel you are met with a smell of damp, followed by a cluttered reception area, door to the stairs didn't open fully and looked like it had been sawed in half and was put back together with some 3x2. The upstairs hallway was old and tatty and the doors to the rooms and private areas had paint flaking off. The room itself was a decent size, 2 different lots of wallpaper (not sure it was intentional), the carpet was old stained and crumpled in places. The ceiling was painted very poorly with just the first 12 inches painted freshly at the edges and then dirty yellow for the rest of it. We stayed for 2 nights and had an early trip planned after the first so didn't have a breakfast in the morning just as well as when I did get one after the second night it was poor, the table clothes were full of crumbs, the condiments were spread about the room like a wheres wally puzzle, not sure where the cold drinks were kept but they weren't in the dining area, classes cups and cutlery were dirty. The breakfast itself was poorly cooked and must have been continually reheated as we were the only 2 there and all I could hear was the microwave pinging. It's such a shame as with a bit of work this could be such a great place. I would not recommend it at all in this state it needs more effort from the current owners or to simply pass to new owners who have the vision and drive to make it great again.

I honestly don’t know how anyone could write this place a good review, I’ve given it a 1 star purely because I had to give something. I booked with some friends for two nights on a motorcycle trip. On arrival, the reception was grubby and smelly and looked like a bomb site! My room when I opened the door smelt like a gym, it was damp and stank of BO. The bed sheets were dirty so I resorted to sleeping on top of the bed with a blanket, couldn’t use the pillows they were so disgusting and stank of sweat. There was hair in the shower, the sink and the toilet were dirty . Breakfast in the morning was fowl, I’m not usually fussy but I couldn’t touch it, cheap ingredients and the bread had been bought on discount due to sell by date! I barely slept a wink and the second night resorted to paying for another hotel (which was cheaper and lovely). Tried to get a refund owing to the state of the room and was told ‘no refund’. Terrible service, terrible place, it doesn’t need a makeover, it needs bulldozing!

After checking in and seeing the reception area and bedroom I was not happy with the cleanliness so did not stay. Rooms are not sufficiently cleaned, carpet not hoovered, hair clip left on the side, the shower was dirty and a half used soap/wrapper was left in the soap holder. No mountain views as suggested and the room was in a 'chalet' overlooked by anyone walking past meaning I would have needed to close the curtains.

It's grim!! No resturant, no bar, no mountain view. Property is dirty and untidy and if you complain to the owner about needing toilet paper they go to the room to check you are not lying! Yes it's in a nice location and the breakfast if OK (although the bacon and egg sandwich without bread was a new experience) but unless you really can't afford anything else don't stay here!!

Don't expect a uxurious B&B. It's clean, tidy and quite basic, breakfast was decent. A good convenient location, friendly hosts and ideal for what we wanted. Good value. Ideally could do with a refurb, but then it would cost more! Chinese restaurant part, looks like that has ceased trading - that area needs a sort, doesn't give a good first impression.

Stayed here and used it as a base to climb Snowdon, a picturesque location, a 15- 20 min drive from Snowdonia's Pen y pass and very close to the town. Rooms are small but very much adequate for what we needed. Very American motel styled with rooms adjacent to the main building but it was very handy for loading and unloading the car. Breakfast each morning was very fresh with cereals and pastries available too.

Great location, bed comfortable but that's where positives end. Had to phone to get into building. WiFi password requested but was told to check at reception later in the day. Reception looked like a dumping ground. Towels hard & stained. Breakfast not good. Didn't bother with it on 2nd day. Breakfast table set up with: Cereals but no milk, 2 slices of bread but no butter, no water to make tea or coffee, sat at 8:30 for breakfast finally got drinks at 9:00 eggs served on plate which were cold by the time I made my toast. No vegetarian option offered. Lovely host but this place really needs an overhaul. Really not worth the money.

Room 14 - upstairs - has the most comfortable king-size bed ever! For a base location it's superb, everything worked fine in the room and has a view across to the river. If you want a luxury hotel to spend time in, this isn't it, but for a base so you can be out and about but still sleep very comfortably and have amazing fry-ups in the morning - book it!! Our host was lovely, warm, friendly, always smiling yet really busy! The Chinese restaurant isn't open at the moment but that's understandable. There are lots of other places to wander along to to eat anyway. Will definitely go back again and again, great value.
