Very pleasant service and environment. The room was quite large, and we enjoyed the complimentary cookies and fruit. We took my 2-year-old to the pool, which was nice and mostly empty. There was no shallow end for kids, so my son was a bit scared (he is still new to swimming pools), but he permitted me to carry him around in it. It was not very easy to walk around and find a place to eat quickly except for some fast food restaurants. The street the hotel is on is a wide highway, so we did not spend a lot of time walking around outside. But we were able to easily and quickly get to the new Summer Palace from here.

The hotel is not too new, but generally decent. The guy who helped with the suitcases spoke excellent English, was very courteous and friendly. The guy at the front desk was quite rude. I think they can be swapped. Breakfasts are soso. At the end of our trip, we received a note from the hotel management saying that they would not be able to extend our room and the possibility of staying at the hotel, because all the rooms in the hotel are booked. And we have to leave. It would have been appropriate if we had asked about extending the room, but we did not plan to stay longer.

Upon arrival, I came into this huge entrance lobby area. Huge shout out to Bella Hu from GRO and Mike at the IHG one rewards desk, Check-in / Check-out was smooth, easy and both of them were pleasant, kind and helpful. Room was great with a huge bed and super comfortable. room temperature a little too warm for my liking but nothing like opening a window cant fixed. Went to check out CHAR at the first floor in the evening but didn’t have a chance to see other facilities. A lil hiccup that I would like to mention was 2 things that the wifi doesn’t work for both of my phones (thank you for the help of the duty manager that tried his best to help me with it, appreciate it) and also regarding my encounter with the night shift FO that isnt very pleasant. Went and asked for bottle of water to be kindly send to the room but she wasn’t engaging the conversation kindly and even barely looking at me and water was not sent to the room neither that night. Perhaps confusion? But afterall, CROWNE PLAZA LIDO is one of my fav stay as always. Thank you!

This time, the experience has plummeted during the holidays. Every time I went there, the room was prepared in advance, and the room was decorated with children's equipment and upgraded. It’s understandable not to give these during the holidays. Let’s talk about the situation this time. I took the elderly and children and booked two rooms. We went to the hotel at around 12 noon to wait for the rooms to be packed, one at 2:30 and the other at around 4:00. While waiting, the children participated in activities and signed up for the 160 afternoon care activities. The elderly could only sit in the lobby and wait. After dinner, we went to soak in the hot springs at 7 o'clock. The open-air journey from the hotel to the hot springs was not very friendly on a winter night. In addition, the lights in the hot springs were too dark at night, so it was easy to get empty in the pool. The breakfast is indeed of limited quality, and the previous buffet dinner was not highly rated. The summary is, don’t catch up on holidays. Overall, 5 points, and only 3 points for holidays.
