The location of the hotel is good, and the service is very timely and thoughtful. Especially thanks to One Sun got in touch with us in time to inquire about our preferences and help us arrange suitable rooms. Crowne Plaza Beijing Chaoyang U-Town

The hotel is in a great location with a mall entrance right beside, that has everything you need. The concierge staff are very helpful and the pool and gym facilities were great. The room is tidy, a little older and the aircon did not work; it was extremely hot at night. The booking process required essentially a double payment. Trip asked for a pre-authorisation amount of the total stay and instead of that being used for payment, they charged again plus a 1000rmb deposit so even though my stay was only 3 nights for a total of approx 3300 rmb I ended up being charged 7600rmb. Although the preauthorisation was refunded it still (3days later) is not showing in my account. Then when I went to check out, they tried to charge me a third time for 3300rmb. I normally stay with Crowne Plaza but this particular branch was not to the standard I am used to. Location again was awesome.
Crowne Plaza Beijing Zhongguancun

Shangdi and Zhonguancun Area
We booked a college entrance examination room, which was not only quiet and soundproof. There were dedicated waiters on each floor to ensure the safety of our belongings. The waiter Wang Jinping was kind and responsive, and cleaned the room quickly. The hotel provides delicious food for college entrance examination candidates every day, and parents can rest assured. When we checked out, we pulled something, and Wu Qi (Amy) from the housekeeping department quickly handled it, which was very thoughtful!
Crowne Plaza Beijing Sun Palace

We arrived at the Crowne Plaza in the afternoon, from the airport. As the valet took the bags out the car, I suddenly realised I had taken the wrong suitcase from the baggage claim. The manager on duty began our check-in and called over the director of Guest services, Alex Li. Alex was incredible! He immediately found the number of and called the airline for me. Realising my bag had been taken, he set out to organise an exchange for me, should the other person get hold of the airline. We continued checking in - getting a free upgrade due to my having an IHG membership, regardless of my zero points - and went to the family suite. The room was brilliant. We had 3 adults sharing the area, but the living room, 1 bathroom, 1 extra toilet and beds in separate areas allowed for privacy and space. It was clean and well organised, and the view from the 20th floor was good. We left for dinner downtown, during which I received a personal call from Alex. He had stayed in touch with the airline counter and had found my bag! He spoke with the other passenger and arranged a direct transfer, which he later assisted me with (translating, negotiation, etc.) I was very grateful to him for his kindness and above-and-beyond service. At breakfast at ‘The Market’, we received a warm welcome from all staff. Everyone’s English was very good and the service staff were friendly and polite. Our table was also quickly cleaned whenever a plate was finished; a nice change in China. The food was nice for a hotel breakfast, with many options, and we enjoyed it. We decided to try the set menu from the ‘The Market’ for dinner. For ¥158, we had focaccia starter and could choose 1-of-2 salads, 1-of-2 soups, 1 main (beef fillet, pizza varieties or pasta varieties) and a drink (cold drinks, juice, house wine). I had the Caesar salad, pumpkin soup, medium beef fillet and a glass of red wine. The wine was OK, but the food was excellent! The flavours were great and the fillet was cooked to perfection. I was thoroughly impressed, especially for a hotel meal. Overall, the quality of the hotel and its staff - especially Alex - was superb. I was so pleased to stay there, that I changed my booking to an IHG hotel for the next stop of our trip, too.

Crowne Plaza Beijing Badaling
9.4/52515 Reviews
We stayed here during a short holiday. The staff was nice and there were no problems. The main issues were that the management and scheduling were not up to par, the pricing strategy was rigid, and the suite design was not reasonable (the toilet was bigger than the children's room, and the sliding door between the toilet and the children's room was not soundproof). One staff member of Batada Park is responsible for dressing children in climbing equipment clothes for three projects and is too busy to handle it. There was no coordination for check-out and cleaning in batches, which resulted in a backlog of guests arriving at noon in the lobby. We arrived at around 2:00 and checked in at around 4:00. In addition, the hot spring does not provide a buffet, and lunch is charged extra, but the ticket price is the same as the average price of hot springs in the city that include lunch. The hot spring and the hotel have the same owner, but the billing is separate. Kayaking and other services are charged separately, and there are no discounts for hotel residents (even if the price is raised a bit to give guests a discount, customers will feel better psychologically). Although we gave away tickets to the children's playground due to late check-in, there were still many extra charges overall. It is recommended to set a default package price for each room type with a children's playground or hot spring. The package price is higher, but it is cheaper than buying them separately. This can also promote sales and repeat stays. It’s probably because the hotel and tourism industry in Beijing is not competitive enough, and large companies don’t have to worry about this business.
