I stayed at the Hotel Euler for 5 nights with my Father earlier this month. We really enjoyed our stay. The location was ideal for our daily trips on the train to a nearby village to visit family. Service in the hotel was very good and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our rooms were very comfortable and well equipped. Two very minor comments are, firstly, that at breakfast it would have been nice if used plates/bowls had been cleared as we worked our way through the very good breakfast buffet. Secondly, there was only one pillow on the bed when we arrived and we had to ask for more. I think perhaps there could be two pillows as standard. We used the bar/lounge most evenings during our stay and it was a very nice, relaxed atmosphere especially with the pianist playing most evenings. No complaints at all and would certainly return if the opportunity arises. many thanks for making the Hotel a very pleasant place to stay.

Beautifully maintained and actually 5 * worthy hotel! Rooms are spacious and beds sleep wonderfully. The only downside is the bathroom where you have to shower in the bathtub with a very small shower head and the toilet right behind the shower door. For the rest: - the staff is top notch, breakfast is complete and extensive - the gym and spa is wonderful and the swimming pool is wonderfully large

I booked a night in a single room with Lavabo - the price is currently at 95,- CHF + 4,- courtage. I am not in a hotel because I wanted to save money and Switzerland is much more expensive than Germany. Benefits of youth hostels: The booking includes a Basel card that allows you to use all the public service free of charge. Furthermore, you pay only 50% of the entry at museums etc. Another advantage: the location of the youth heritage very central, but still quiet (only with regard to the city event), in the old town very close to the Rhine. You can walk to the center. The neighborhood is idyllic. I had a room with windows on the opposite side of the Rhine, there cooled it in spite of a hot summer day in the night nicely from another advantage: breakfast is quite good, it is already ready from 6:00, and the coffee/cappucino from the machine is of high quality. However, one must pay for a cappucino outside the breakfast hours CHF 4.00. A room without shower/WC with Lavabo is easy because there are enough toilets and single showers available on the floor. And a good shower bathtub was to be borrowed for 3,- CHF. The staff of the youth hostels were very friendly. Most other guests do not, often my greeting was not answered on the hall. Now to the disadvantages that weigh more seriously for my needs than the benefits: first of all the relative brightness. I didn't say anything to these families because I know from experience that it doesn't bring anything and because I just stayed a night. I myself visited Basel to look at a lot of art, and I am a guy who needs a guest room as a place of withdrawal even daily to get back. The impressions in this interesting city are overwhelming. This youth hostel is not suitable for this. I could only sleep with earstops, and that's only uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the room can only be obtained from 15:00 - I would have wished to be able to rest a little before and make me fresh after the long arrival of a hot day (but probably it would have been too loud to rest). The breakfast is rich and worthy of praise. The room is spacious, bright, quiet and very clean. A hotel worth recommending, within walking distance of the convention and exhibition center.

Stayed for a Night with BA Holidays for a Night with the excellent Breakfast included. Forget getting a Taxi or Transfer just hop on the 50 Bus at the Airport for a free 5 Minute journey to a stop within spitting distance of the Hotel. The same Bus carries on into Basel Centre. The Hotel has it's own service but that had finished by the time I landed. Your Hotel Reservation is your ticket for free public transport until it is supplanted by the Basel Card issued by the Hotel on Check In. This card valid for the duration of your stay also provides substantial discounts on various attractions Room was modern, a good size and excellent shower. The Breakfast (Light from 4.30am) Buffet from 0600-1000 had a wonderful selection of hot and cold items catering for a diversity of tastes. One of the drawbacks- although the room had a kettle there were no tea or coffee supplies or fridge. Overall a wonderful mid-range establishment with easy access to the Airport and City Centre.
